Another explanation for the mysterious delinquent that saved Josuke: I haven't read the manga, but in the anime, Koichi is narrating the story to Okuyasu. Since Koichi is going off of second-hand information from Josuke and neither Josuke or Koichi know what the man really looked like other than his hair, Koichi subconsciously inserts Josuke into that scene as a placeholder.

Looking at the two Manga scenes, I don't even think Star Finger actually gives much more range, if any, than Star Platinum's normal 1 to 2 meters(the use vs. Anubis was anime only). It's only utility is being used when Jotaro is trapped and can't just have Star Platinum attack normally. People keep acting like Star Finger is a super powerful ranged attack but it's really not, compared to the normal Ora Ora, it's pretty weak, it looks like it doesn't grant that much of a range boost-if it does at all and it's only situational useful. I think it's anime appearances have made it seem powerful than it is.

Araki forgot how to draw massively muscled mountainous men so switched to lean and toned fashion models.

If a character is selfless then you’re supposed to say WHY they’re selfless otherwise they’re just one-dimensional, one note (which you CAN do, but it’s a no-go for important figures). It’s boring and lazy for a character that informs basically josuke’s entire personality and someone who feels so deeply about. i don’t really care about time travel or whatever but it’s crazy to act like jojo has never done anything that doesn’t make sense and then resolved it with an over-explanation.

You cannot expect your audience to go "oh yeah, that's because he's a delinquent, he just walks around in the middle of a snowstorm with fresh blood on his face".

I’m so glad Araki feels that way about Mikitaka. Not everything needs to be explained or expanded upon in detail in fiction, sometimes it’s better to leave things vague because that allows people to come up with their own conclusions and that sparks discussions like this one.

Moody Blues would’ve been very convenient in some of the main arcs of this part especially the Kira arcs.

Huy Max There are two possible explanations for that. 1. Araki sometimes draws his characters with the same faces. It was especially noticeable at the end of part 7. 2. The backstory is being told by Koichi to Okuyasu. And since Koichi has never seen the man before, he may have just inserted Josuke’s look into him.

Aaron Of Doom The second one is pretty dumb, the first one is an aright expiation because Araki does sometimes have same face syndrome but come on, it's pretty obvious, with bite the dust reversing time, the face look exactly the same, the guy just happened to be at the right place at the right time to save josuke even though there's literally not a single other person in sights, it pretty clear that Araki intend to make josuke save himself but then he didn't like it or change of plan or time travel is too confusing for him or whatever, so he never decided to go forward with the plot point he set up. The reason why there's "araki forget" is because Araki doesn't like it and want to change it so he did it, sometimes it's a good thing because Araki can be extremely flexible with jojo so you don't need to cover Araki ass everytime he change something

As time goes on, I’ve realized more and more about how it would literally make no thematic sense to have Josuke save himself. The entire main idea of Part 4 is how looks are deceiving, and that people that look bad can actually be good. If it was really Josuke that saved him all those years ago and inspired him to be the person he is today, it just undercuts the entire message.

I mean I thought it was going to be a time loop thing too. I don't know if I could call it disappointment when it wasn't, but it sure felt like it was a setup for a plot later. Not everything HAS to be connected I guess but still.

If you pay attention to how Rohan activates heavens door, you can see that he does still have to show people the drawing... kinda. He draws it so fast in the air that it leaves the image there and when people see that it manifests the stand. At least, that's my take on it. And then at no point is anyone successfully able to dodge it or get away. It's already got them by the time they see him draw the head.

The scarier thing about that is how was Star Platinum just allowed to grab Joseph’s heart? With how fast precise and strong Star Platinum is he could literally grab your heart and burst it before you even notice. To make it worse he could stop time and grab your heart without you even realizing.

I have another explanation for why Josuke's saviour looked like Josuke - this was being told to "us" by Koichi, and thus we were seeing his imagination. Naturally, since Josuke only told him that he was a delinquent with the same hairstyle, it would be easiest for Koichi to imagine the saviour as looking like Josuke.

@@IAMNOTRANA Typically when someone as bland and 'safe' as Koichi thinks of a delinquent they typically imagine people like that getting into fights often and often times being victim to getting 'jumped' I.E getting beaten down by more than one person. So Koichi must have assumed that the delinquent in Josuke's story must have gotten into a fight or might of been jumped before showing up when he did. Either that or Josuke's hot mom told him more of the story. Either is infinitely more plausible than some dumb ass time travel theory.

I think the most insulting thing is the Mysterious man, just because people made theories about him it doesn’t mean that he automatically serves relevance to the story later on, he’s clearly there to gain Josuke’s respect and inspire him to adopt the same style.

I blame the anime for the "Josuke saving himself" misconception. The manga had the delinquent wear a generic school uniform while Josuke's is heavily stylized. In the anime, they wear the same exact thing, minus the pins on the delinquent.

I mean, if you look at the Savior in the anime, his uniform is closed, which we’ve never seen from Josuke (he always had the heart-shaped opening on his chest). I’d say the issue lies in how the face was drawn. If a couple of facial features were changed to be more distinct from Josuke, it would probably be less of an issue.

@@molberding5 That's probably done so it can indicate it is Josuke's hero. It's rare but not uncommon for mangaka's to draw their protag's heroes similarly to the protagonist. A form of bounding, as you may. (E.g Minato > Naruto > Boruto)

For the Josuke saving Josuke flashback, I believe we're seeing it as he sees it. If Josuke is intentionally trying to match his look, it'd make sense they look so similar in his memories.

The 'Josuke saves his past self' idea is an interesting one, but ultimately I think if Araki HAD come up with the idea, he would have been right to not do it.

someone once gave the most simple answer about the guy who saved baby Josuke: he looked like Josuke because Koichi is the one who's telling the story about why Josuke has that kind of hairstyle and, since Koichi doesn't know how the guy looked, he simply imagined him as Josuke.

The reason that josuke looks so similar to the delinquent that saved him is because he’s designed his look after him. He literally is supposed to look like him.

Some of the these are so ridiculous. Literally some of those comments are just jojo fans making assumptions & then claiming “araki forgot” bc the story didn’t live up to their assumptions. The “josuke time travel” thing is so dumb. It’s crazy to me how some fans are willing to throw their own writer under the bus than just admit they didn’t guess something right/or just admit they weren’t as big of fans of something that panned out

All fandoms have bad stuff in them, but I honestly thing Jojo's fandom is pretty good.

Without a doubt, Part 4 is one of my favorite parts. The writing, characters, setting, everything was just right for me. Especially Kira as a villain. Still a little sad that an ambulance finished him off, but it just adds to the whole comedic aspect of it.

I think the ambulance finishing off Kira is a metaphor. We can see the ambulance as Morio-cho, the city which Kira has wounded all those years. At the end, the city gave him the final blow, along side with all the other characters, finally freeing itself from that evil. You could also think it as just fate: Kira always relied and talked about fate, fate giving him a last chance whenever he was in extreme danger. Well, that last time fate ended his life instead.

That Josuke going back in time theory has so many flaws as well. If Josuke from the future saves 4 year old Josuke, how did Josuke survive in the first place to save himself? If you get sent back in time by Bites The Dust, your whole body doesn’t go back in time. It’s just your mind going back in time to your body at that tims. It’s like a time leap machine from Steins;Gate. Why would Kira even send Josuke back in time 12 years? There’s no reason to do that.

Also the fact that the delinquent's outfit isn't the same, specifically the pins on his jacket. Like, Araki had been drawing Josuke's outfit consistently for ~50 chapters, and people think still think the delinquent is Josuke despite the obvious inconsistencies.

Just going to add this in here. In part 4's Ghost alley, there is a mail box that is prominently seen (with some dog sh#t on the ground nearby). From what i've noticed, the more supernatural aspects of the alley don't take affect unless someone has passed the mailbox (traveling away from the nearby convenience store of course). The mailbox is the point of no return for that alley.

It makes sense for Star Finger to be brought up, as it is estimated to work up to 6 meters, being a ok medium ranged attack. It's more reasonable for it to just have been useless however, as unless Jotaro is physically unable to use his fists, it's not a good attack at all, and would cause more risk for Jotaro than would be necessary.

Because of bites the dust, you can see bites the dust activated (not really) which caused an "error", bringing josuke to himself when he was a baby, and obviously saving himself, but this idea got debunked.

@@goated6390 The thing is though that is purely head cannon. No idea of that was even slightly hinted at. Bites the dust ability was fully explained when it was revealed. His ability was never shown to affect Josuke differently at all. Not in the anime or manga. His bility is completely seperate from his flashback and no part of the story conflicted with it. So I have no idea what some people connect the ideas together. They just think flash back and any time manipluating stand are instantly connected.

What about when Araki forgot where his car keys were the day I was stalking him? How do you explain THAT plot hole?

Only recently found your channel, absolutely love these videos. Reminding me of all the stuff I love about jjba, got to rewatch it all again soon. I haven't been involved in any kind of "fandom" for a long time so I didn't hear before all these "Araki Forgot" but nevertheless really enjoying your videos! Just goes to show what an awesome & unique thing Araki has created, inspiring so much discussion & theories & stuff.

Also on the first point of repairing incorrectly, whenever Josuke creates a “road wall” that is also this “incorrect fix” ability.

no he created the road pieces into a larger piece of road but just didnt connect it to the rest of the ground; it was still technically a “correct” fix

I suppose people were more focused on the uncanny resemblance between the two. When I first watched the scene I was looking at how similar the two were, and already knowing that some stands can stop time. I made the inference that there could be a stand that could reverse time, which turned out to be true. So given all the ideas involved I'm sure anyone would come to the conclusion that Araki at least had the plans to use such a plot. But since he's been honest about Abandoned ideas before I'm sure he's probably telling the the truth here.

Anna Hanham kind of, but not really, essentially, when the heart’s natural pacemaker is out of sync, it needs a electric current stronger than its own to dictate the rhythm it should be beating at. This is all just a very simplified version but, yeah.

Well, this is a very common misconception, though, so it makes sense that Araki would go the everyman's fiction route, should the actual purpose of SP's heart pump be to act as a defibrillator.

i know I'm a teensy bit late but, to add to yuya finding kira, yuya never knew kira's scent, and there was nothing they could use to get his scent.

Does anyone else just rewatch all of hamon beats videos because they're so well done? No? Just me?

i feel like they should've brought joseph to tonio's, so they could fix at least a few of his ailments

What makes you think that didn't happen? By the end of Part 4, Joseph doesn't have the same hearing problems he had when he came to Morioh and he also doesn't seem to be senile anymore. Granted, that seems to be more of a result of being around Shizuka, given that he gains a lot of his vitality back once the invisible baby shows up.

BlueMageDanny Its pretty easy to explain, Araki wanted Joseph to be taken seriously during the last few scenes he would be in during Diamond is unbreakable. Imagine during the final chapters with Joseph and Jotaro on that boat and instead of them having a serious talk about Josuke Joseph just kept on asking Jotaro to repeat himself because he couldn’t hear him. Araki didn’t want to spoil the mood for the little scenes Joseph would be in at the end of the part. And it’s not like he had much screen time during the end of DiU for him to act senile at all

God, I wish I can go to Tonio to fix some shit goin on in my body, but supposedly Joseph should have been more vital as a hamon power user, we shouldn't forget his mother in her early 50's didn't look older than a early 30's,late 20 something energetic woman

It was just a random guy with a weird hair, then Josuke went: Huh he is cool. Then he wore similiar clothes and hair to the guy.

7:01 people who say that must have read the part but also completely missed one of part 4's biggest themes: that while morioh may have some bizarre inhabitants, like mikitaka, aya, tonio, etc., they still have hearts of gold. this is the same heart that was being poisoned by kira being allowed to continue his killings and maintain his "peaceful life"

On the topic of Josuke’s hair, I see some people saying how he just suddenly seemed to stop beating people up when they insulted his hair. And that people just suddenly seemed to stop insulting his hair. Josuke going ballistic at people insulting his hair was mostly used as a joke, but it becomes considerably less funny in hindsight once we learn what the hair represents to him. Araki probably just didn’t wanna milk the gag following that.

I’m so sick of the idea Stands bring back people from the dead. It’s not an Araki forgot, you’re just not paying attention.

@@coolghoul8515 Well, I agree some plotholes are actually some misunderstandings and misinterpretations but this interpretation of yours makes it even worse. You want to say that Joseph had vampire blood after transfusion? Joseph turned to a zombie like when Vanilla Ice was revived? Can you hear what you are saying? This just makes this plot point even worse. To me, Joseph's resurrection and Jotaro having the ability to stop time out of nowhere are the things that can never make any sense in the whole of Jojo. I agree though that this is part of what defines Jojo actually, there is a reason why the "bizzare" part exists in the title. That's what actually makes Jojo unique and enjoyable. People just shouldn't take Jojo so "seriously" like that. They should stop pointing out such "plotholes", and actually people who try debunking them make it even worse. JUST STOP TAKING JOJO SERIOUSLY AND ENJOY IT.

@@coolghoul8515 That isn't a plot hole. In the Final Battle DIO sucked Joseph's blood. So when the transfusion happnened Joseph only got the blood DIO stealed from him back.
