I know about ahruf but varieties of ahruf were discontinued by order of caliph Uthman. Today most arabic speakers still use their local dialect. Uthman Quran was written in quraishi dialect (dialect of the Prophet) Cairo edition 1924 is standard Arabic ,Nothing to do with Uthman Quran. You Muslims should be embarrassed of all the holes in the narrativ and stop saying Allah preserved the Quran from corruption. I am starting to regard most mumins as munafiqun

It denotes lineage ; if they wanted to refer to Maryam as a descendant of Aaron; she would be “ Maryam daughter of Aaron..” because the Bible says in Luke 1:5 Elizabeth is a relative of Mary mother of Jesus ; and she was a descendant of Aaron, the Bible refers to her as “ of the daughters of Aaron” she happens to be a cousin of Mary’s: so if Elizabeth is of the daughters of Aaron by decent , how come her cousin Mary is a sister of Aaron but not his daughter too?? 🤔🤔🤔 Think about it.

Qur’ans calls Prophet Shoaib as the brother of the people of Midian. Qur’an says; “And unto Midian (We sent) their brother, Shu'eyb." (Al-Qur’an 7:85) And similarly Qur’an calls Prophet Salih, the brother of the people of Thamud. It says; "And unto Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih." (Al-Qur’an 11:61) In both these examples it is never meant that the Prophets were the real brothers of the each and every person of that tribe. It’s only way to address them. It means that Shu'aib was a (male) person from the people of Midian and similarly Salih from the people of Thamud. So in the very same manner when Qur’an describes Mary, the mother of Christ as 'Sister of Aaron', It means that she is being referred to as a (female) person from the people, the lineage of Prophet Aaron. This is infact an Arabic idiom, a way to address. There is the terminology calling tribes brothers if they have one ancestor or calling individuals brothers if they have one anchestors. You left this argumentation line (this argument would not lead to an satisfying solution). Then you said that Mary was of the lineage of Aaron. However if you are of the lineage of someone it is called being a son of Aaron (often used in the bible for the descendants of Aaron (the priest caste)) or if you are female a daughter of Aaron (Luke 1.5). Calling Mary a sister of Aaron only make sense if she were Aaron's sister. In another comment I showed the problem that there is only one memorable Aaron: The brother of Moses.

@@phoenixater 1- One thing we need to consider is that Qur’an does not call Mary ‘Sister of Moses’ but ‘Sister of Aaron’. 2- Aaron (PBUH) we know was the first in line for the Israelite priesthood. 3- New Testament clearly tells us that Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist (PBUH) was from the lineage of Aaron (Luke 1:5). Also it tells that Mary was a cousin of Elizabeth (1:36). Therefore we can easily call them both ‘Sisters of Aaron’ i.e. from the lineage of Aaron. 4- Infact we have evidence of the similar usage from the Bible. In Genesis 13:8 Abraham and Lot are called brothers while certainly they did not come from loins of one individual. It reads; “And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.” A certain Christian commentator, Adam Clarke says in his commentary to this verse; ‘[It means] we are of the same family, worship the same God in the same way, have the same promises, and look for the same end.’ Was the same not true in case of Mary and Aaron? For the interested reader, I would add (and this is tangential) that furthermore, Mary (of the old testament) and Mary (of the new testament) were sometimes spoken of interchangeably as well, for example, by Aphrahat the Syriac writer. How unusual would it be to accuse church fathers themselves of confusing the two Marys! Church fathers also exploited the fact that NT and OT characters shared names. The fact that the Qur'an is even aware of this shows sophistication on the part of the Author beyond what a 7th century Arab is capable of.

A second comment of mine: if you look at ancient Syriac writings from 300AD, there is an example where a Christian writer talks about MariamOT and MariamNT in the same passage without clarifying these are two different people. He says "Mariam watched Moses in the basket in the river; and Mariam(NT) was with Jesus". The christian author does not clarify, because his Christian audience is well aware of the difference between the two Mariams and he is using a comparison with their names. Other writers, also Syriac Christians, refer to Mariam, mother of Jesus, as "the rod of Aaron" meaning a descendant from Aaron's lineage.

Sheikh Ahmed Deedat (may Allah grant him paradise) destroyed Anis Shorosh, who also claimed a similar situation. When he took out the genealogies of Jesus (peace be upon him) according to the many Bibles, Anis Shorosh was speechless, I'll never forget that moment in history.

Christians/ex Muslims:- The prophet knew the biblical stories that's why he could mention them precisely in the Qur'an. Therefore it must be false. Also Christians/ex-muslims:- The Qur'an doesn't match with the biblical stories. Therefore it must be false. Am I the only one who sees this? Christians/ex-muslims can make the prophet both a Bible scholar and a person who doesn't know about the biblical narrative, like at all. It seems too convenient 🤔

Akib that’s exactly the point. It’s one thing to know Biblical narrative and another to perfectly understand and remake the narrative chronologically without error. Your point explained it perfectly well; if one can confuse Miriam sister of Aaron and Moses, children of Amram( Number 26:59 Exodus 15:20-21) to Mary mother of Jesus and relative of Elizabeth (Luke 1:36) to be the same; then for sure the narrative is known but couldn’t be matched correctly. Because Miriam sister of Aaron is Miriam doesn’t mean she is Maryam mother of Isa(Mary mother of Jesus )🙌🏾🙌🏾.

Actually, the answer given by the prophet( sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) makes a lot of sense. I don't really understand why Ridvan is laughing, other than the desire to make the prophets response sound weak, when it's not. Even today people name their children after ancient Prophets. We Muslims name many of our son's Muhammad, after our prophet.And there are many Jews and Christians naming their sons Aaron(or Harun) or Moses, or Joshua, after their prophets or saints.

However it have to be a famous Aaron. If he wouldn't be famous, it wouldn't be reasonable mentioning him. There is only one memorable Aaron: The brother of Moses and Mariam. This would be the only site where a sibling of the virgin Mary is mentioned. No matter if bible, apocryphs or islamic literature.

@@phoenixater That is your opinion. But there is no fixed rule saying that you can only mention famous people. If she was indeed the sister of a man called Aaron, then there is no harm in stating that. It doesn't matter if he was famous or not. Maybe there is some wisdom in it, like for example, showing that Mary was not some god-like figure as some Christians will have you believe, but rather, just a normal woman with family.

@@gajiburrahman7378 Calling a person with a name or nickname make only sense when the listener unterstand to what person is referring. Famousness is relative. In a family or a village it would be sufficent if Aaron would be known to these persons. That the so called eternal and uncreated Quran is referring to a fully unknown person is alarming. The brother of Moses, this Aaron, is literally the only known Aaron till in the 4th century some Christian martyrs had the name.

@@phoenixater The point is, it's not an error as claimed by Ridvan. The fact that you believe it doesn't make sense to mention an unknown person is not relevant. As I said previously, there may be some hidden Wisdom behind mentioning Mary's unknown brother. Just because you and I don't understand the reason for mentioning her brother's name, doesn't mean there wasn't a reason for it. I've already mentioned one possible reason, but there may be a different reason.

@@gajiburrahman7378 Allah's wisdom seems quite unreasonable: These few words make christians making jokes about Islam already in the early time of Islam: The earliest account on Islam (exept quran and the dome of the rock inscription) is by the Christian scholar John Damascene ca. 730. That's earlier than ibn Isaaq ca. 766 and the Hadith collections ca. after 850. And for example therefore he mocked Islam. Does Allah not want that we Christians become muslims? That's literally the only sense these few words can have.

I also researched this and So really calling Maryam عليه السلام the sister of Haroon is valid because A) she actually had a brother called Harun because the Jews like the Muslims today named their kids after the prophets and there is no proof to the contrary. B) She is actually a descendant of Harun and so metaphorical in meaning as in the Quranic verse {واذكر أخا عاد} i.e., HUD; because Hud عليه السلام was not the brother of Aad but the far removed grandson between them are hundreds of years this being even alluded to in the gospel of Luke and is very likely indeed because the prophets are interrelated to each other and Maryam is the mother of a prophet . C): That she was given a pet name of the sister of Harun because of her piety and hence when she brought the child out of wedlock they used it to scorn her as the context of the verse suggests because the Quran is quoting their words and is not making a lineage claim! D): or she was branded with this name as a form of chastisement because the Jews believe quite falsely that Harun عليه السلام made the calf idol that they ended up worshiping and equated the birth with the same gravity and that’s why they didn’t say oh sister of Moses. The fact is that is quite probable that she did have a brother called Harun or a cousin and that at the same time she was the many times removed granddaughter of the prophet Harun because Esa عليه السلام is from the bloodline of the prophets as are all the prophets and that at the same time the nickname was used by the Jews to scorn her either because of her piety or their false belief about Harun although it’s possible that some of them said it for the first reason and the others who actually believed the falsehood said it for their belief which would mean the Quran was right in so many ways the accuracy of which if proven true on all accounts would dumbfound us even more! The strongest out of them however is that she is actually the ancestor and far removed granddaughter of the prophet Harun عليه السلام and a very very very pious woman so much so a few Imams regard her as a female prophet Ibn hazm and Al-Qurtubi are 2 such Imams. These foolish people have nothing original and all they do is go to anti Islam websites run by people who have zero knowledge about Islam and have no access or ability to understand the Arabic sources! They are extremely pathetic!

The other problem we have is, Miriam being the daughter of Amram is only mentioned in 1 chronicle 6:1. However, the Pentateuch makes no mention of Miriam being the daughter of Amram other than his two sons Aaron and Moses. Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years. (Exodus 6:20) we read Miriam is not mentioned as the daughter of Amram. now coming to Chronicles, unfortunately the earliest fragments found in the Qumran caves don’t have Chronicles 6. the only contents of fragments we have are 4Q118 2 Chronicles 28:27; 291-3. Now Christians would turn to the Book of Numbers and say she was the daughter of Amram the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, who was born to the Levites in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aaron, Moses and their sister Miriam. (Number 26:59) Once again with disappointment to Christians, this verse is missing from the earliest fragments that we have 4QNumb cave 2. The DSS skips 5 verse after verse 57 and starts from verse 62. 4QNumb cave 2 Thus, your argument that Miriam was the daughter of Amram can be dismissed since no mention of her related to Amram is found in the earliest fragments of the "Torah" also, "The wife of `Imran mentioned here is the mother of Maryam, and her name is Hannah bint Faqudh." and, According to the Torah, Jochebed was a daughter of Levi and mother of Aaron, Miriam and Moses. She was the wife of Amram, as well as his aunt. both are not the same.

If maryam was named after maryam, why cant harun be named after harun

Thanks Farid, so there are two possible responses to the "sister of Harun" comment. 1) That Maryam's parents named their son Harun, after Harun brother of Musa pbut. This seemed to me the most obvious reading from the Hadith. Is this wrong? 2) That Harun pbuh founded a family of priests and pious people and Maryam pbuh was a descendant. In Arabic the word "sister" is a more appropriate to describe their relationship because they were priests and the relationship isn't 100% linear, ie there are a few second cousins a few times removed or something like that.

Are there any other examples of extended Sister/Brother kindship (i.e. "Sister of Harun") in the Quran? I accept your reasons for doubting Mary's father was named Joachim. Do you have any reasons outside of the alleged error itself for believing it was, by some incredible coincidence, Amran?

I think i saw a comment by you why Almughairah asked if Arab used this terminology, well Arab used it mostly for tribes and Almughairah might not know how Mary is related to Harun. According to Christians, Marys cousin is descendant from Levy who is descendant of Harun. Also Mary could have had a brother his name is Harun like a half brother. If you are athiest why you are judging islam by the bible ?

1. The Gospel of James is not rejected as a forgery. It is rejected because it is too late a book and was not included in the canon for that reason. There were other theological issues also. 2. the name of Joachim does not only occur in the Gospel of James it also apears "Gospel of the Nativity of the Blessed Mary", and the Pseudo-Matthew, or "Book of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of the Childhood and the Church Fathers. 3. This lie of Mary being the brother of Aaron and daughter of Amran was recognized and challenged by the christian s and jews at the time of Mohammad who in turn came up with the silliest of response. There is no record in Jewish traditions that children were named after famous ones. And off course they objected if that hadith is not an objection it is definitely not a compliment. 4. Ignorance of a fact does not prove the existence of a fact. they definitely knew that Moses and Aaaron were the sons of Amran and they the Christian and jews recognized something fishy was going on to bring up the issue. Saying that they did not know that Mary fathers name was Joachim - when they had the Gospel of james going around there and even copied by the quran in part is pretty far fetched. 5. Farid leaks very confidently says Aaron the brother of Mary was nobody else but Mary. Aaron was a Levite and Mary was from the tribe of Judah. So it could not be this Mary. No mate as much of Juggling can be done here but Mohammad and Allah stuffed up big time. So big that the Christians and jews of Najran present at the time recognized it. You had 1400 to concoct some explanation and this is what you come up with.

Who said Mary was the tribe of Judah ? Which book in the bibles say that. She was Elizabeth relative, Kinswomen, cousin whatever the bible says. Elizabeth according to Luke 1-5 she is descendent of Aaron. I think you are refering to Joeseph who was espoused/engaged to Mary who id descendant of Judah as the bible said ? Even luke and Matthew didnt if Joseph's dad was Heli or Jacob and they didnt know if it goes all the way up to Solomon or Nathan.

It also proves another claims the quran makes that if errors is found within it is not from Allah.

He said that people at that time used to call this comomon names. in your religion when they mention brotherhood of judah and israel, it does mean they are blood brothers, they are 2 related tribes or whatever. Also there are so many other explainations like Mary comes from priestic family or she is dedicated to worship, like what you call in the church sister, is she your actual sister ?

Unfortunately Imran is not Marys fathers name. Imran happens to be the Father of Aaron and Joshua and Miriam (the blood sister ) who existed 1600 years before Mary the Mother of Jesus was born. It is obvious this is an error of great concern. It is obvious Allah confuses Mariam the mother of Jesus with Miriam the blood sister Aaron. No amount of mental gymnastics will get muslims out of this one. There are plenty others misinformation which Christian and jews are able to detect in the quran because of their familiarity with their own Scripture (Abrahamic) and traditions, leaving muslim oblivious because of the lack their of and the prejudice to the Bible. All though the quran says if you are in doubt go to the them for clarification.

You are accepting Jesus lineage to David through Joseph and you know Joseph is not his dad. Luke and Matthew disagree on hos joseph dad is. Is Jacpb or Helli. A person can have 2 names by the way: Jacob others name is Israel. The bible contradict itself in so many places even translation contradict itself why is the quran have to be judged by not agreed upon bible. Bible is 66 books or72 books or 81 books no one knows ? Can you prove Matthew, Luke, John and Mark see Jesus no you cant. Can you even prove Matthew wrote the book of the Matthew no you can't.
