Ennio Morricone was my son's favorite composer. My son passed away five years ago. Forever thirty one years old. The grief and the heartache is still there. I feel so guilty still being alive. He was my only son, I loved him so much.

I am so very sorry for the pain you are going through. I almost lost my 31 year old son this summer to liver and kidney failure (self-inflicted by alcohol abuse). It was a miracle that he survived. I love him so much. He is very musically talented, a classical pianist and a composer but troubled deep within. Please don't feel guilty about being alive. You need to be alive to be able to help others who are going through similar situations. I will pray that God will give you the strength you need. He knows the pain you are going through. He gave His only Son to die on a cross for our sins. He loves you very much. God bless you dear.

Instructional videos for every task you can imagine! And that's just KZread! The internet put the answer to every question you'd ever have, and the Library of Congress for that matter, right at your fingertips! We are lucky indeed! I was born almost too late! I thought nothing would compare with that score and then i saw Malena ,Once upon a time in the west, The mission and several others and each time the scores were unforgetable. I am so thankful to Maestro Morricone,he left this world a better place.

In my opinion, no modern musician has ever captured deep emotions and humanities of life in film better than Maestro Morricone. There are great film composers, but Ennio Morricone was one of a kind. Often the films, as great as they may be, fell short on their impact on us when compared with the impact of the accompanying scores and melodies provided by this superb late composer, who will be ever present with us with the great music he left with us.

As an Italian, I am obviously proud of how much Ennio Morricone is esteemed, loved, around the world. I grew up with Stones, Yardbirds, Animals, Who, etc. But how can you not love the balance of Ennio Morricone's Harmonies? But I do not claim any Italian exclusivity on Morricone's music. Because his music is art. And the Art belongs to the Whole Humanity !!! May the earth be light to you, Master !!!!

Listen to me! I am a proud Englishman but I have to hand it to you Italians....I love your people, your country, your food , your fashion,Your sporting expertise, your warmth, your culture, and most of all your passion! Suffice to say Ennio sums up ITALY in a nutshell. Forget about his music relating to movies. His music in its own right would stand up to any of the great composers in world history! I would have to say he is the greatest composer of our generation. I have been watching a TV documentary here in England about this incredible man...What an education for me! This is probably my most favourite piece of music from Ennio?I know that is a difficult decision to come to as Ennio has composed and produced the most amazing portfolio of music compositions over the years! I hope you Italians understand this analogy but it is like saying ''how long is a piece of rope?''' But let's cut to the chase....Ennio's talent comes along once in a generation! not only a special talent but a special man! RIP ENNIO XXX

I have to admit, that no other composer was able to to reach my heart with his music so instantly.!!! although he’s gone, he left us so many beautiful and heart touching.pieces of music…. He was able to to create music for so many different stories, and still be reached with every. Composition the heart of the viewers.. It was the sound of his music, that forced me to cry at the end of Cinema Paradiso …. The theme of the good the bad, and the ugly was a company for all my life,… he really was a genius and one of a kind. The world lost a remarkable human being.

@@dpc983 To me what I find so fascinating about any art form is how a painting or piece of music can be so moving to one but leave another feeling nothing. John Barry is another favorite of mine . Hans Zimmer doesn't do anything for me personally. But above all, Ennio Morricone's film scores for me are so full of passion and emotion. His piece, " On Earth As It Is In Heaven" is like a spiritual awakening every time I hear it. That is my two cents worth. I enjoy reading different opinions and finding out what others hear. How blessed are our artists to be able to create and move us in so many different ways.🙂

Чем трогает это кино за душу меня? Не знаю... Иногда создается ощущение что я был на этих улочках тридцатых годов, настолько все близко. bighands69 Morricone has been nominated for 5 Oscars. In 2007 he won an oscar for his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music. Another 56 wins & 41 nominations. But for me, he should have won oscars for many of the movies hè composed like this movie, and once upon a time in the west, The Untouchables, The Mission, Cinema Paradiso, and many more. It`s very unusual he only got one oscar, and not for a movie. Besides, he is a foreigner, and the oscar-committee ( A bunch of very old real american men.), is more fund of american composers, but....that`s the opinion of more soundtracklovers.

O no eras tú? Quizás alguien te lo contó e hiciste tuya aquella historia. O quizás sí lo viviste pero la vida te robó aquel amor que parecía único, que iluminaba todo,... que ocupaba todo. Eres un superviviente del desamor. Has aprendido a sobrevivir y ocultar toda esa pasión frustrada en tu interior.

If a movie could have a soul, it would be its music, and Ennio Morricone is a master of creating a soul for each of the movies.

Simply the great film ever made. It had a beauty that felt like you were not watching a film or movie as it felt you were at the opera or theatre. What they made here was more than a film it was art everything from the acting, music, photography. You have no words for just how great it was. This was a movie not with fancy cgi budgets but made with love and passion to tell great stories.

My father was a dead ringer for Robert De Niro, especially as he aged. I found this movie on VHS as a young boy and thought it was my father in it. I watched parts of it here and there in furtive viewings over the years (it was on two tapes and my parents tried to keep it out of reach). I never saw the whole thing until much later. Looking back I think of Noodles stealing glances at Deborah. My father died over fifteen years ago. He and I never spoke about this film. How I would love to do that.
