That is a fictional universe where the characters are a level beyond IRL boxers. If you look at their resumes ANY Rocky main character would be the GOAT of IRL boxing. Also Rocky looked good when he retired. He was not forced to retire 20 years before that fight, he beat Drago and didn't return for 21 years.

He’s going to see things happening and his body just won’t move to deal with it for just a split second longer. He already lost a lot of his damage resistance by the 2000s and peoples chins don’t get better with age. Everyone wants this to be Mike Tyson but that Mike has been gone for almost 20 years.

It's a man in his prime Vs a man who's nearing senior citizen status. Doesn't matter how amazing Mike was Jake is obviously wrong for this.

What crazy is the only difference between a regular match and an exhibition is: during an exhibition the athletic commission simply leaves the ring area and the judges are not certified judges ….. that’s it

You saw what happened when Evander fought Vitor Belfort. If this is not an exhibition i think it will have similar results unfortunately

Holyfield is punch drunk. Couldn't even throw punches properly with leverage, speed and recoil. Tyson isn't punch drunk and can still throw punches properly. The age gap is still massive and if Tyson doesn't knock Paul out in the first round or 2, Paul likely wins due to having far superior stamina.

I agree with Brian up to now you can admire what Jake has done but when you think about it ultimately whether it is weight, age, height, experience, every opponent so far has been at a BIG disadvantage and the only one who wasn’t was Tommy. The man is a coward. Mike isn’t normal and if he has 20% of the beast left inside him he could really badly hurt Jake as well. I hope he does, because he could have called out Mike after the Roy Jones fight but he didn’t he waited till he’s nearly 60. Absolute coward.

Shuffled around the ring like a zombie. Couldn't even throw simple punches with leverage, speed and recoil. Tyson isn't punch drunk and can still throw punches properly. How could Paul be wrong for fighting Tyson? Saying that make it out like Tyson is a senile old man who can't make his own decisions. Tyson is an adult who can decide to take the fight if he wants or turn it down if he wants.

I think having watched Mike train he still has the power and speed, jake leaves himself wide open and I believe Mike can knock him into next week within 1st 2 rounds. Jake will never want to feel a punch as hard or harder than Mike's again if he connects, it'll be lights out. Mike's style is straight on peekaboo continually moving forward and sideways never backwards, jake has never been in a fight with a style like Mike's.

Exactly! Jake's technique is sloppy, he misses half his punches and moat of the what connects doesn't do damage. He fights people that can't fight and thinks it's a bonafide win. We're talking about IRON Mike here. Even if he's slowing down or losing strength, he's still stronger and faster than 99% of men of any age. If Jake throws one of his haymakers (and he will) Mike's going to take that opening and its game over

Lest people forget, George Foreman came back in his 50's and became champion again. Uncle Mike still got some moves, I mean I know I'm probably over my head, but I'm holding out hope for Mike. Plus, it'd be great to see him fight again, shame it's against this bum, but when I was a kid I only saw Tyson fight against Lewis which was his last fight in his youth. And obviously since, he's fought Roy Jones, so it'd be cool to see him step through the ropes again

No he was 45, a big difference from 56. He also deployed cross arm guard tactics to make up for his aging speed. No disrespect to iron Mike ( he's a legend) but father time beats everyone. That being said I will be over the moon if Mike beats Jake.

on the last fight mike had when he retired he said "im retireing because i dont want to put shame on the sport by losing to these caliber of fighters" so either mike lied or Jake is about get beaten badly if mike doesnt take it easy like he did on jones. and if he will be high he will take it easy, if not his ego will not let him go easy on trash talking Jake. i want the sober version of mike for this one

I’m so glad you guys brought up Larry holmes and Ali and Tyson beating holmes for it. If Mike gets knocked out, I see fury avenging it after he’s fought usyk and aj just before he retires. Not a fan but can see the promo easily being done and advertised as a repeat of history. As said I don’t want fury to fight him either but I can see the promo happening, but at the same time the big turkey was saying no more cross over so let’s see.

They were right a couple of years ago.

Power may not leave you but boxing is more than just about power there's also reflexes involved, footwork. There were stipulations involved in the Roy Jones Jr fight put in place to protect Mike.

And now it turns out they’re fighting in head guards and 18oz gloves 🙄 It’s just sparring at this point 🤦‍♂️

I see why Jake’s doing the fight, because commercially for himself, Mike and Netflix it will be huge. However, he talks about “respecting the sport”, which signing a fight with an old Mike Tyson, completely contradicts this
