Thank you Deb for your excellent video of Portillo! It is such a magical place, and deserves to be on everyone's bucket list. I hope the stars line up for a return visit this summer.

I skied there 3 years ago on a snofari trip. The local guy said Portillo was like a cruise ship. Everything is planned for you. Week long bookings only. Keep you pampered. I would guess the race teams would be an exception. We just day skied there, last day of the trip. We hit a bad conditions day sadly. Bulletproof chunks. Did ski the famous Poma lift there! What a trip to unload on a 40 degree slope!

Hi All. Portillo is so beautiful! Just a tip. Argentinean currency recently suffered a big devaluation, so 2020 skiing it's going to be very unexpensive. Access from the Capital city where most international flights arrive, is not as easy as it is in Chile, but if in case you like backcountry ski you need to try Las Leñas. :) You have tens of off-piste lines just out of the lift with no walk. It's awesome! You can also reach tens more off-piste lines with a 45min walk, 1:30hs, 2hs and so. There are some other nice ski resorts in Argentina, but if you liked Portillo, Las Leñas landscape is pretty the same. Even if accomodation all ols fashioned (80's) it's comfortable enough, I go every winter to Las Leñas and also to another resort. But Las Leñas for me is a must. Hope this helps ;)
