It sounds dumb but what the Burna boyz had to deal with is instant death. When the vehicle explodes it forces a disembark on the unit inside (the Burna Boyz); each model needs to roll a dice and on the roll of a 1 the model is slain, no matter how many wounds they have. So if say that Weird Boy was in the transport, if the roll was a 1 then he'd be dead. No saves, No multiple wounds to save him, just dead.

@@FaustSketcher It kinda makes sense. You could say that the embarked units knew that their ride was about to blow, so they jumped out and immediately hit the deck. The enemy, who doesn’t fully know when said tech is gonna blow, gets hit by the explosion and dies. But because they’re Orks, you could also say that they can’t be hurt by the explosions of their vehicles because they think that it won’t hurt them.

Thank you so much for posting this battle report. I remember getting into WH40k back in 2009 and having the hardest time finding anyone to play against because I only had 500 points of troops. Some people were willing to play against me while others said "No" because they didnt want to have to step down to such a small army. I'm really glad to see people still want to not only play with 500 point armies but even post battle reports online. Thank you and keep up the great content!

@@MidwinterMinis 500-1000 point games is the sweet-spot in my opinion (although the spectacle of bigger games definitely has its appeal in its own way). Small games however are quick, fun, and arguably more tactical in some respects than larger games. The ability to get in more games also allows people to try out more missions and lists, giving more variety in games too. Plus, for BatReps, they are quicker to play (and probably therefore quicker to edit), more digestible for viewers which means they will pull in more views, and are great for showcasing the minis being used. Also, these small BatReps are GREAT for bringing new people into the hobby because they make the games and rules so easy to follow, and it counteracts the idea that you need like 1500-2000 points to have a fun game, which is a perspective which can be really off-putting for potential new players as armies that size take a while to collect and can be really daunting prospects. I would love to see more BatReps on youtube from both you and other channels like Tabletop Tactics at the 500-1000 point range or playing smaller games like Kill Team

To echo other comments, i have to say i really enjoy your bat reps. For context, my interest in wargaming is the modeling/ painting aspect, i tend to skim white dwarf bat reps and mostly avoid youtube's offerings. Yours are quite easy to follow and your explanations make it understandable even for an ignorant like me. Love your understated humor as well. Jeff's demise was quite poignant 😉

Gonna browse your channel for more of this because it's definitely worth watching and a perfect was to past the time during quarantine! Thanks so much for the video and I hope that you dude's are staying safe!

I'll admit, the thing I dislike the most about batreps on KZread by major channels is all the panning away, roleplaying, screaming and "banter". Love it when I'm there playing but it's really off putting when I'm just watching for me personally. Your narration is engaging and you still give the video a friendly vibe without being overbearing. Really good mate, I'll watch these whenever they're out.

@@MidwinterMinis also I was wondering, any chance of a low point 30k batrep? Even with proxy 40k Marines, I've always been interested in playing it and a 30 minute roundup would be a really good place to give myself and others a taste. The title of '30 minutes of 30k' even writes itself. Haha

Thanks for the fun and informative games Midwinter minis! I´ve always been interested in warhammer 40k but never knew where to start because we unfortunatly don´t have it where I live (moreover it would be absurdly expensive in my local currency, think 5 to 6 times more than what you guys pay without any additional costs) and your videos are both extremelly helpful for new people as well as entertaining to watch!
