When I learned about the war of Pakistan on Bangladesh and how they targeted educated civilians, it made me blood boil. Then I learn Nixon and Kissinger tried to intimidate India into not intervening and stopping the genocide in Bangladesh (all supposedly in the name of fighting communism) and my mind was set. Bangladesh still suffers from consequence of those targeted killings on civilians that US ally Pakistan carried out. When it came down to it, Kissinger had no issue giving up ALL morality for even medium to small geopolitical goals. I believe this will do more harm to the US in the long run, since it turns many common people of the world against the US, it tarnishes our image and provides credibility to the narratives that putin, for example, now tries to push.

When Sonya keeps referring to congress as "the swamp" it kind of undoes her whole argument because it makes her obviously a far right wing fan, instead of someone that is just non-political, but focused on the tasks her department actually takes care of. Makes her feel like her argument isn't fact based 100 percent.

A quick background search shows that she is from an association that 'represents Air Marshalls', not an official organisation at all, She's from a political lobby group. Pity that wasn't disclosed on the show as it makes her comments as factual and reliable and the Australian Christian Lobby. 😅

That quiet skies scoop was wildly interesting I think its fair to say that the air marshall person seems like they were perfectly happy with the program when it was targeting probably-innocent "suspected terrorists" before jan 6th and is just up-in-arms due to it now surveilling a different type of probably-innocent "suspected terrorist"... Really came across like she was saying: "I got into this job to surveil innocent BROWN people, not jan-6'rs". Obviously speculation - Just an impression i got from a few of her turns of phrase and her referring to congress as "the swamp". Seemed to be a real "I only hate this program now that we are tracking the potential terrorists that I happen to like" situation Genuine civil liberty concern, dont get me wrong. But the breaching of the civil liberties of muslim Americans, pre jan-6th, didn't seem to worry her. So its a bit rich that shes concerned only now. Still a worthy issue to bring up, even if I detest the clear bias in what she was saying
