I agree. The most honest and morally just character in the show, imo. He was a great chief and you could tell that he really cares about the members of the Task Force, too. His personality is the complete opposite of his son's, lol. Thanks for watching!

I agree. I feel bad for him too, tbh. He went through so much all because his son was Kira, but he never knew the truth. Of course as Ryuk said, "I guess that means he was happy." Still, can't help but feel for him though. He's one of the most honest and moral characters on the show, imo. I actually really like Soichiro's character. Thanks for watching!

Mr Yagami is by far the best fictional police officer I've ever seen. Legit my favorite member of the task force and second favorite overall

I really like Chief Yagami. Even though Matsuda is my favorite task force member and my top favorite character overall, the Chief definitely falls into my top five favorite characters. He's really the most honest and morally just person in the series. He's a great character and I definitely have a lot of respect for him. Thanks for watching!

That scene never sat right with me. The acting is on point and compelling, but technically blanks aren't harmless, and he held the gun pretty close to Light's face. It could have misfired or had gunpowder force hit his eye

I cried so hard when Soichiro Yagami died when reading the manga. including L and Watari's death. It was up until that point that I lost complete respect for light and started hating him. Light's dad was so honorable and I respected his character so much. I'm rewatching the anime right and honestly I'm really not looking forward to see my beloved favorite characters die again 😔

For me, Soichiro's death was the saddest. It really hit me hard. I actually lost respect for Light after he killed Raye Penber, because that's when it became clear to me that he was willing to kill innocent people who get in his way. I really liked Soichiro, too. He's one of my favorite characters. I love all the Task Force guys, tbh. I agree though, Soichiro was such an honest and respectable character. I hated Lught, too and I was so happy to see him lose. ​@@sleepykat9 I don't know if you've ever seen any of the Japanese live-action versions. There are the Death Note movies and the Japanese TV drama. Soichiro survives in the movies, but he does find out that Light is KIra. His death in the TV drama is even sadder. Spoiler alert coming: Soichiro finds out that Light is Kira and confronts him. He tells Light to confess that he's Kira and turn himself in. Light continues to deny everything, so Soichiro begins writing his own name in the Death Note. Before he finishes, he gives Light a chance to stop him by confessing that he's Kira. Light won't do it though and Soichiro finishes writing down his own name and then dies. I really enjoyed the live-action versions of Death Note, particularly the TV drama.

In both, the Japanese live-action Death Note movies, and the Japanese Death Note TV drama, Soichiro does learn the truth about Light. He finds out that Light is Kira and confronts him about it. I kind of wish it had happened this way in the anime. Even though, as Ryuk said, that meant Soichiro died happy, a part of me wishes he had learned the truth. Thanks for watching!

I really don't like Charles, tbh. He's one of my least-favorite Code Geass characters.

Still sickens me how Light used his own father especially on his death bed cause everything Soichiro did/went through to prove his sons innocence and he sacrificed A LOT for him and this's how he repays him not to mention how Light has the nerve to say his dad died in vain seriously Light F you. One of the things I liked about the Japanese live action films is how when Light gets exposed as Kira Soichiro's there to witness it which is something I wanted to see in the series and even the director himself wished for that to happen as well.

I already hated Light and even more so after this. I like that part in the live-action movies too. I also wish it would have happened this way in the anime. Have you seen the Japanese live-action mini-series from 2015? The way this scene happens in that version is very dramatic and sad. Thank you for watching my videos!

Kitsune's Trove Yeah I was starting to dislike Light after L died but when his dad died any sympathy I had for him died. Never saw the 2015 mini series heard it wasn’t that good.

Light would kill his own father for the sake of being Kira...I'm sure he'd kill his mom and daughter too. My God...Light truly was a monster. I've never seen a more fucked up situation. Imagine dying thinking your child isn't Kira after years of suspicion..only for it to be true. Your own child was the most dangerous criminal in human history. Yeah, I'd wanna end myself too.

Poor man and his wife were put through so much because their son wanted to be God.

Hahaha! That's pretty much how it went. I still really like Soichiro though. I understand that Light is his son, but I think it would have been cool, to have him be a little suspicious of Light at some point. They did this in the Japanese TV drama and I liked that they did it that way. In both, the TV drama and the Japanese live-action movie, Soichiro finds out that Light is Kira at some point. Well i think it s the fact that they thought kire would have a notebook already so him not having one all along meant for them he isn t kira. If he just picked it then it would be seen that he s an owner but the reason would be evident for them, seeing him picking up one just now in front of his dad, the notebooke his dad has so isn t incrimatory. But well i don t remember much details so idk

That makes sense, but it would be out of character for him, too. Soichiro was always against taking someone else's life, so it doesn't surprise me that he gave Mello the chance to surrender first. In the manga, Light expected Matsuda to take the eye deal, and Matsuda does insist on making the eye deal himself, but Soichiro won't let him. Light didn't anticipate his father making the eye deal, and in the manga, even asks his dad if he would be able to kill someone with the notebook if he has to. So Light was doubtful about that, too. Matsuda is my favorite character, so I'm glad he didn't make the eye deal and end up dying, but I hated seeing Soichiro go, too. Thanks for watching!

@@flaim9906 Exactly. Soichiro would never simply kill someone. We saw that he was even against the killing of criminals, too. He would never have been able to go through with it. But yeah, disarming Mello without fatally injuring him would have worked.

Light's dad is actually the reason Light lost. If his dad wrote Mello's name then Mello wouldn't kidnap Takada and Mikami wouldn't go to the bank so Near would have lost.

good thing he didn't write Meelo's name in it, otherwise he would have landed into the Mu

Look at our reality, it isn’t a book or a tv show or a movie. There’s alot more evil here than good especially those with power and money. But anyways this is an anime it was idealized than written. If it was reality, the evil would triumph.

I know you hate the Netflix adaptation of death note Kitsune Trove. But what do you think of the idea of making light yagami have adaptation heroism? Or atleast making him less evil than he is in the anime/manga, also if and I mean if you pretended that the characters were NOT based on the characters in the manga/anime and we're completely different characters who coincidentally got a death not like light yagami and Misa, would your dislike for the Netflix adaptation lessen even by just a little bit?

Are you talking about when he goes to get the tapes from the TV station? This is when he drives the police van through the entrance to the Sakura TV building. He wasn't really hurt here, but he was still weak from his recent heart attack. In fact, he wasn't even supposed to leave the hospital yet. His wife went there to visit him and found his hospital room empty.

As a hero i vote - Light yagami 50% soichiro yagami 100%

I'm indifferent about Mello, really. I don't love him and I don't hate him. I love Near, though. Either way, Chief Yagami's death was one of the saddest deaths in the series for me. He definitely deserved better. Thanks for watching!
