Kento as L is on the different level. He perfectly portrayed it, such a versatile actor. love him so much!

One of the reasons I love this version is because unlike any other version, this L actually seems like he genuinely cares about Light and vice versa. Well, at least until L dies then the writers did smting confusing with the plot but yes

no bc at the end, when Watari shows the video of what L recorded before he dies to Near, L did said "I'm sorry for suspecting you" and "In facts why don't you work with Near and become a detective?". It shows how L actually did have hope for Light to be a better person after admitting and turning in himself to the police. I'm actually really is curious over how Light sacrifices everyone just to make this "new world" of his. He said he'd want L to see the new world he creates but in order to make the "new world" he needs to kill L. And L said "A part of me want Light to be Kira but another part of me don't want him to be Kira" (it's smtg like that) meaning that he wants his instinct to be true but Light is his only friend. This shows how both of them really do care abt each other but their ego overtake them :(

He actually was my only friend.

I love this version because it actually looks like they cared for each other, hell and I think they did. Light was actually crying when L died and wanted to show him the new world, a better world in Light’s eyes.

Kira and L are enemies Light and Ryuzaki are friends Death note forever

If Light wasn’t Kira, L and Light would of been amazing best friends, and done a lot for criminal justice.

This version is particularly beautiful because unlike every other version, Light really loved L. It's a totally different version of Light and while the original version is really well written and makes for a better battle of wits, this version highlights the tragedy.

Man i miss L so much. The three episodes after his death seemed so dull without him, tbh i would have loved to see L and Near work as a team rather than Near being a replacement.

Unrelated, but I freaking love Kento Yamazaki. This L is my favorite version. This version of death note made me so emotional

It’s very low-budget. Also L isn’t supposed to be attractive and Light isn’t conventionally attractive enough

@@bruh.2036 Definitely! And i love how the emotions are expressed. Light was actually a normal Student and not the PERFECT boy who handled everything skillfully. In the drama, he was scared and the change of Light transforming into Kira was phenomenal. The relationship between L and Light was something i can't explain with just words, L tried to understand Light's POV till the very end. The ending was also kind of better and lighter than the Anime because Rem didn't die and Misa did not have to commit suicide as her memories were lost. All in all, the drama was more realistic than the Anime in terms of emotions and human behaviour. That's just my opinion ofcourse, but i loved it!
