Do you have the video where you were supposed to play columbus ohio but refused to play because there were only 10 of us there for the show? really big let down. I drove 3 hrs. Hamerfalls bassist complained that they wouldnt set up the pa system and didnt have imported beer. Chuck didnt even bother to come out of the bus and say hi to us. Nice.
@jonnysmokesmusic

Perhaps you don't understand touring economics, so let me explain: Just the cost for the venue to unload the bands is probably already higher than the money made by that whoppingly huge 10 ticket sales figure, so it makes sound financial sense for the promoter to cancel. Setting up a PA and paying the soundguy is also going to cost several hundred, if not even well over a thousand dollars. Then you have a minimum number of security staff, bartenders, sound/lights, stage crew and cleaning crew to pay. If the band gets off the bus and goes inside to play, the venue is obliged to provide them with their contracted food and beverages, (which the Hamerfall bassist was rightfully pissed about not having,) but since they all basically just lost a shitload of money, (one missed show can essentially almost bankrupt a club level tour,) and drove hours and hours, (expensive gas and time, tour busses cost at least $1000 per day,) just to get let down financially, emotionally and artistically, they should suck it up and come outside to talk to you. Yes you, personally. Nice. If you are expecting to work all day, and then not only NOT get paid, but actually pay someone else thousands and thousands of dollars at the end of your efforts, you too can enjoy a lucrative career in the music industry! Sign up now and we will include bitter comments from angry strangers that you didn't want to talk to in a dark alley in a strange city at night... Stay on the bus Chuck. We'll find a waffle house on the way to the next gig. :p

what I've found "I remember that day clearly as if it were yesterday. I was browsing the internet, and found the tour dates for The Sound of Perseverance tour. I immediately called my best friend Brandon, and told him that Death would be in Columbus OH 3 hours away, on Nov. 19. We both made sure that we could take off of work, and I went straight to Ticketmaster and bought our tickets. Nov. 19th arrives. I had been waiting for this day for years. We make the 3 hour drive in about 2 1/2 hours. We were going to meet a friend that went to Ohio State, and as we were driving we saw the tour bus sitting on the side of the street. That only made us more excited. We went and picked up our friend, and made our way back to the club. As we were approaching there was a small crowd. As we got closer, there was a note hanging on the door of Chelsies (that is the club they were playing). The note read. "The Death and Hammerfall Show has been Cancelled." Our first reaction was a laugh; we thought that someone was playing a joke. As the minutes wore on, we came to realize that it was no joke. Apparently the sound system was horrid, and would have made both bands sound horrid. We witnessed an argument between club management, and tour management. However, we stayed put, just in case something changed. About and hour later, we are standing there in the freezing cold, and Scott, and Shannon come off of the bus and start talking to everyone. I swear that we stood there for 3 hours in the freezing cold, and these guys were gracious enough to hang out with us. We talked about everything from music, to beer, to where we lived. Chuck had been on the bus sleeping. Finally he came off, and talked to everyone. We were so happy that we just got to hang out with the band that we really didn't care about not seeing them play. On the 3 hour drive home, we decided that 3 days later, we would make the 5 hour drive to Cleveland to watch them play. Nov. 22 arrives. We both call in sick at work, and set out on our journey. We drove the 5 hours, and made it. We stand in line out in the cold once again. However, this time there is no note on a door. Finally they let us in. I grab a beer, and we grab our spot right at the stage. Hammerfall takes the stage. I am sorry, I have tried, but I just can't get into that band. Hammerfall closes up with there cover of Breaking the Law. During the break between sets, I went to get more beer. I saw Shannon, and Scott both over by the merchandise stand, and to my surprise they remembered me. The asked me how far I had to drive that time, and when I told them 5 hours they couldn't believe it. They were blown away that someone would drive that much in 3 days to see them. I went back, and about 15 minutes later the lights went out, and on came the theme to Halloween. The show began, and I felt like a little kid. By far the best show I have ever seen. Jason" taken from the emptywords.org so now we know chuck came out the bus.😀
