Kill Team benefits from vertical terrain and having more than one level. I feel that's lacking here. Other than that, great to see KT on here.

This game was really perfect for beginners, it really helped me understand some of the rules better, thanks guys!

Vantage and punishing vantage points offer so many more tactical options to the game, not to mention that certain factions/operatives gain benefits from being on one. Rise! Riiiiiiiise!

28:08 The DeathGuard champion still had an Action point left after the combat. Could have taken a shot with the plasmapistol to probably take out an additional sister model.

Great game! I just can't let go of the fact that marines get 3 APL, so when Luka's leader killed the Repentia, he could have fired his plasma pistol into Phil's leader for a possible kill as well!

@@idkwhat___is Marines (and plague marines in this case) have 3 APL, which they can use to shoot, charge and then fight. What you can't do (unless you use a strat) is fight twice or shoot twice.

The shooting death guard never utilised the 3AP. He could set up behind heavy cover moved out shot and moved back. Or the bolters could have double shot with the tactic for 1CP. But either way really happy to see kill team on the channel. Hope this will be a regular thing in the future.

usually people don’t do this if they would rather overwatch instead. gotta keep LOS in order to overwatch. so, from how i understand it, u either move shoot move. but no overwatch. or u stay in the open but u can overwatch.

Please do more Kill Team content. It needs the love.

Love to see Repentia on the table! They're one of my favorite models and theyre just so fun in Kill Team. You either whiff or just do tons of murder. Perfect swingy fun.

I believe blast is measured from the original target as if she was the shooter so I don't think that models besides the original target usually get a automatic save unless there's like a barrier between them but maybe I'm wrong

You are correct, cover lines are drawn from the targeted operative to any subsequent operatives that are hit as a result of the blast rule. Unlike for example, torrent, which still draws cover lines from the active (shooting) operative even if the AOE is measured from the targeted operative the same way as blast.

17:55 also remember that when you fire a supercharged plasma pistol, if it backfires, you do still get to roll disgustingly resilient for any mortal wounds suffered by rolling ones!

I don't play any Warhammer game, but this is very enjoyable to watch. The back and forth between player make it more like a game. Regular 40k seems to slow, move a bit and roll alot of dice for along time and next turn.

Great battle report! Thank you for the kill team content! I may be mistaken but wanted to point out, at 26 and change minutes, when the champion charges and fights, gets the kill, he should have 1 ap left to make a plasma shot at the melta gunner right? Anyway, thanks for the entertainment!

Cool, cool. I have said it before with different games, it would be nice when you start doing bat-reps for a new game if you mention ahead of time some things that we should know. Like "What does triangle and Circle mean?", "How does the to hit/to wound vs save interaction work?" You got Criticals, so "What do they mean?" These would be helpful to know especially when you're starting a new game and many of us don't know the rules. The mission briefing is great, but it's not quite enough. Just a little help from a friendly Ontarian. :)

I’m new to this so it might be a stupid question, but why does it seem like they’re rolling a ton for the feel no pain? I was under the impression if you actually take damage, you roll once to see if you take the damage. I might be missing something

No, you definitely roll once per wound inflicted. So if you're hit with a Damage 3 weapon, you roll 3 Feel No Pains.

I play Harlequins and I am not use to combat pasting more than one activation lol! Harlies are such glass cannons they either kill in the first two strikes or die trying lol

Idk if I’m just this stupid but ever since they’ve changed the rules I’ve been so overwhelmed. Everyone says it’s simplified but I’m like how is it simplified? In terms of the iterations being shorter. But jeez this step beats that but you can’t because I have initiative. I think I’m just stupid. Tac ops. Can someone please direct to me to a video where they play and break down every step and no not that video series with the nice paper arrows. I mean a game in motion..

Original kill team game in white dwarf could be played single player, you had your kill team and the other side was a bunch of guards that behaved like NPCs. It makes less sense that its kill team vs kill team, obviously now it can be balanced and competitive I guess, but its no longer like a commando scenario

Meh, feels like it takes ages for anything to die now, you get "automatic" saves vs ranged and can parry in cc, just ends up being a game of "who can roll most crits"

These two armies do have a good amount of defense, and in melee order of operations is incredibly important, like the death guard who killed a sister with a regular hit before she could land a hit near the end? I think it also helps that some of those kept dice become much faster once you know the rules and they fade into the background, making the interesting rolls more prominent. Still, I never played original kill team and I know it's supposed to be awesome too, and the coolest stuff is all in the army codices, of which 4 armies have, so, yeah, there's that.
