Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like the blast profile was used for a torrent weapon. Only two targets were valid not all three when SS made the attack with the flamer at 26:00. Torrent requires ALL targets to be within a certain range of each OTHER. As the VA and VD aren't within 2" of each other only one can be selected after AR bbqing 🔥. Think of Torrent as a 2" diameter circle that all targets including the primary need to be within or touch the circumference of. Still need to comply with LOS and Shooting rules range etc. Not to be confused with blast which is a 2" extension to the primary targets base.

You are correct! I think we played it as blast not torrent, its amazing how those two words in the rule book can make a big difference!

Sisters, woooooo! I'm a Deathwatch boy at heart but Sisters have rapidly become my favorite "viable, actually!" team. And the Ad Mech are probably the White Dwarf team that intrigues me the most. So this one is right up my alley! I think you'll really enjoy getting some Repentia on the table with a Repentia Superior. Between the sisters "just a scratch" equivalent and the 5+ feel no pain, theyre tankier than they look. And you can give them a huge threat range with the Superiors special ability. They're so much fun. And (most importantly) they just look cool as hell.

I am a big fan of rule of cool, and if the units then also kick butt like the Repentia appear too, they will be on the list next! Admech are a great team too, I think they have a whole bunch of tricks to make them really solid! Appreciate you watching!

This is the best battle report I have seen.

Liked and commenting to feed the algorithim! Funnily enough I've played this mission once, and it was also against a Hunter Clade team (I was using Death Guard). It was interesting watching this because it felt more like how the scenario is meant to play out. In ours, the hunter clade literally found it in the very first search roll, which meant for the rest of the game I could focus my efforts on taking him out, granting the (pre-balance) death guard, a rare win! Lovely battle sisters btw. I've got an unpainted army of them, this video might just inspire me to add them to the queue so I can at least use them in Kill Team!

Thanks for both the comment and the like! I think this scenario definitely needs to make it that it can't be found on the first turn, but you can still secure the objectives for 1 VP or something. This video was a great excuse for me to get my SOB all painted up, such great sculpts, but now I need to get those 2 sneaky unpainted Ad Mech done.....the work never ends 🤣

@@3StoWound don’t worry buddy, I’m there suffering right next to ya! Currently slogging through the chalnath ruins. I recently played some chalnath scenarios recently and realized, I was not giving that kill zone the appreciation it deserves. I thought it was a bit mean on the terrain front and it was a bit minimal with the new rules, but it actually feels quite different from my standard board set up. I’ve been pleasantly surprised so now giving the terrain the paint it deserves! After that it’ll be on to Nachmund…

My other favourite unit identifiers from this battle were the sister superior looks like she is taking a selfie and we call the little dice with the parchment the toilet paper dove, all top shelf stuff here!

I actually love the movement of each unit around the map. And the commentary along with it. It might be cool if you highlight a few turning points at the end of either bad positioning, wrong calls, etc to help us new players out. These could be marked or noted during editing and just show that freeze frame of the units to explain what may have been better? Just a thought. Over all, this has been fantastic!

Liked and suscribed. Great presentation. I especially liked the split screen with the map on one side and the miniature scenes in detail on the other. I even liked the little effects like smoke and fire to show hits. Great work!

Enjoying your content in general. Very much enjoyed the battle report. The sound and animation were a nice addition. Would love to see more of this. Among other factions, I personally run Hunter Clade and a friend of mine runs sisters, so some thoughts for future play, if you want them. For admech I would agree with vantage points and setting up too far back. Particularly the transuranic really needs to move as little as possible to get value out of it. I personally prefer running 4 sicarians for the melee/short range pressure and having a vanguard diktat run around with them to buff and use rad-sat. Your opponent also forgot to use the control edict ability on his alpha. For sisters, my friend loves running one team each of sisters and repentia, again for the mixed threat. Repentia have the potential to hit v hard, particularly as my friend likes to load all of them with barbs for improved consistency. Threatening to charge or actually charging with them while normal sister lay down fire and/or tank seems to work well for him. We found the inability to perform mission actions really hurts arco-flagellants. I did notice one potential flamer-based mistake and one potential rule issue during the video. The Superior's flamer use. based on the footage it looks like you may have hit more models than allowed. For torrent, all the targeted models have to be within x of each other (i.e. 2" for the flamer), and It looks like the diktat and the alpha are more than that apart. It looked like you used it as if it had the blast keyword (i.e. within 2 of the central model). The Alpha, what pistol does he have? You mentioned a dangerous pistol and it looks like an arc pistol, but you can't take any of the fun ones with the power weapon. If you give him a power wep, it has to be the radium pistol (loadout limitations are where it says what models can be in the killteam, not the actual statblock).

Hey! Thanks for the comment. Thanks for the tips with the teams, I have passed the AdMech stuff onto their general. I really like the 4 sicarans with the Diktat, very dangerous. For the sisters I can't wait to get some repentia. Can be a bit swingy, but great models and so powerful when they land. Spot on with the use of "blast" instead of "torrent" a costly mistake for my opponent and a lesson learned. The Alpha was modelled with an Arc pistol, but obviously couldn't take that, he had the Master crafted radium pistol, it's not too bad with balanced and rending! (but it's not Arc pistol, which is way more fun)

One particularly fun little combo for dealing with an opposing vantage point sniper are 1 or 2 ruststalkers with optimised gait. Pop accelerant or command override onto speed or melle doctrina and watch the robot-ninja go. Based on your expanding variety of killteams, the repentia may take a while. how many other model/entire kt projects are you currently working on? Either way, once again good work on the channel. I'd love to see a rematch with the same teams but w models/tactics etc. Changed due to experience.

Another great video! Well thought out and put together. Really looking forward to seeing more! Any chance you can do some more Veteran Guardsmen?

Great batrep! Funny enough, I played this mission a day or 2 ago. Commandos vs necrons, I ran the necrons as immortals and warriors. I had a pretty lore accurate game where I used the warriors mostly as cover for the immortals and to screen against charges. Although 1 warrior turned on aimbot and got 3 unassisted kills, including the boss nob. I love this game

As always, wonderful battle report - with clear info of what's going on, but also fast paced and not over-talked. Love the format! And, ofc, nicely painted sisters, that blue works great on them. Are you planning any re-match with this opponent? It seemed like they could do better having a bit more practice with their KT.

Seems like the hunter clade really missed out on using those vantage points... Like they couldve left the transuranic arquebus on one vantage then sending the arc rifle/plasma gunner and a shock trooper to work the top right objective

There wasn't much it in it! But it could, that big base makes it difficult!

From a hobby perspective I really like the AdMech Transuranic Arquebus (whether I spelled it right or not), but it just seems like a lot of work to position it where it can fire more than twice a game.

100% such a great model and is powerful, but unwieldy just hurts it so much! If you cant make it up on a vantage point in the first turn it really gets hurt. The only positive is you can still use it to shutdown areas of the battlefield because people are worried about it

I think it's really cool you used only the models you had. Not that I even care that much about WYSYWYG but just to see what loadouts that are not considered optimal can do. Like that Flamer that you didn't even want to take wrecking absolutel havoc.

I really like this style of batrep, thanks mate. I dunno who is right, but my reading of it was that elevated terrain can be either vantage point OR light cover, we've been playing it that if you're on the VP you can see everyone but everyone can see you, no cover. Is that different to how you play?

Hey! Thanks for watching. It depends on the vantage point but some like the top of the Octarius terrain have some light terrain that can be used for cover on top and works the same way as if its on the ground!

So, I don't know if you played the vanguard alpha's weapons WYSIWYG, but just for your info, he can't be fitted with an arc pistol and a power sword together, you can only equip the power sword together with the radium pistol

Nice battle rep! How did your leader manage to move to far to use the flamer? I think she wouldn't be able to clear the middle of the board without dashing. have you house ruled that traverse is free or some thing that increased her movement/ APL? The top down photo shows her dead center behind the barricade but the close up shows her beside it. :)

Yeah, this was a bit of a mess. Basically I she could make the distance going over the barricade and then moving up, it was a mess of measuring and checked several times. The part we got wrong (or I should say "I got wrong") was playing "torrent" with the "blast" rules. Lessons were learnt!

Absolutely love the paint job on the Sisters of Battle, looks awesome, I really like the diversity of the models with different hair and skin colours, it never really made sense to me that all sisters just look the same (the admech look great too)

I think they are a strong mid tier team! They can take a lot of guns, their close combat troops pack a punch and with the way you can build their list/roster you can choose your fire team to suit your opponent/fav way to play. They are a lot of fun.
