Some time ago I had this giant unrequited crush on a girl, and she left overseas for student exchange... while there she went through a rough patch on her life, one day she wrote me a mesaage, and from there we grew close, we sent letters to each other, videochat and stuff, she was always telling me "I wish you were here"... when she came back, I went to pick her up at the airport, no one else came... it was just us, at 6:00 AM in Mexico city airport, our eyes met past security, and we embraced in the baggage claim. Just out of this beautiful song... it's just one of my happiest memories, that moment, finally seeing her and feeling her embrace... :/ things didn't work out, and everything still hurts, but... that's life for you. ;) I found this song too late to dedicate it to her, but it brings everything back to my memory, that was how I felt at the time... I'm sorry for ranting here, I just wanted to let it all out.

"You said the cherry blossoms were blooming and that I was on your mind" I read somewhere that telling someone that something reminded you of them is a way of saying 'I love you', and nothing's made that ring more true than that line, because despite the beauty of the scenery, she still thought of him Such a simple line, yet so powerful

I have met the love of my life in the states last year, during my 3 month internship. We've been apart for almost a year now, but in the meantime he has proposed to me. This song perfectly describes our relationship and it perfectly describes how hard it can be for a couple to be so far away from each other. He has sent me this song today on Skype, and he has also said how he wants us to dance to this song on the day of our wedding. I've been listening to this song for a while now and I just can't stop crying. This song is so beautiful and so inspiring, and I can't wait to dance to it as a future Mrs.!! The world needs more music like this! Artists who sing from their hearts and souls, and who make other people cry and feel perfectly content or whatever feeling a person might feel during the song. This is a music, not just for your ears, but for your heart as well.

I met a really nice French lady in a café in London in May 2018 but unfortunately because I had just lost my a job I didn't have enough money to see her again that summer and later in the year she went off to Mexico for her university but by some miracle we stayed in contact on Facebook messenger. She returned to France the year after and I had sorted myself out by then and in January of this year (2020) I was able to go to France to visit her. I went through quite a hard time over the Christmas period leading up to it though and I would listen to this song regularly to help get me through it. If by some chance Bed Gibbard reads this I want to be thank him for helping me get thought a difficult period of my life. 👍

First, let me say that I love this song, but for reasons that I think are different from others. I may be looking too far into this, but I have a theory on this song. There are so many opportunities for this song to go somewhere cool in a musical sense, but it always just falls off and goes back to the same chords/riffs in the end. My theory is that this song and the next in the album, "You've Haunted Me All My Life", are actually a two-part. Looking at it that way, this song is meant to be disappointing, just like the Little Wanderer is as a person. Together the songs become a tale of waiting for someone that always lets you down, and finally managing to let that person go despite loving them still. I don't know why I felt compelled to share this, but I love listening to it in that light.

Since then I have listened to every album of Death Cab for Cutie and it's weird/amazing how they continue to produce gold like this. And yet Gibbard also indulges some explicit nostalgia for older Death Cab-during the climactic kiss in the baggage claim, the song reveals itself as basically fan-fic to the video for "A Movie Script Ending".

I feel like this song would have fit perfectly on Transatlantacisum, For me personally there has never been a bad song by this band. Just the way Ben executes his words and peaces them together makes me want to dance around my room every time.

The DJ in my head plays this song on repeat at least once a week. Reminds me of some of the best guitar parts from Depeche Mode's Enjoy The Silence. Simply beautiful.

I am so looking forward to this album! This song is sort of like 80s indie rock (shades of The Cure?) crossed with mid-period R.E.M. So good!

A sad song with a taste of love, just what I'd expect from Death Cab. They know how to make the perfect mix, and add amazing lyrics. Great new album, guys! I, as well as all the other fans here are eagerly waiting for more music!

One of my most favorite summer songs... Two seconds in and I'm taken down in the Snake River Canyon biking around the trails by Auger Falls. Just relaxing yet somehow intense... Like Jack Johnson mixed with Muse

You know as I reflect on seeing this song being played live two months ago, though I was dancing, the performance carried an immense emotionality in every tone. And now as I realise how it can obviously apply to me in my current relationship scenario.
