Some time ago I had this giant unrequited crush on a girl, and she left overseas for student exchange... while there she went through a rough patch on her life, one day she wrote me a mesaage, and from there we grew close, we sent letters to each other, videochat and stuff, she was always telling me "I wish you were here"... when she came back, I went to pick her up at the airport, no one else came... it was just us, at 6:00 AM in Mexico city airport, our eyes met past security, and we embraced in the baggage claim. Just out of this beautiful song... it's just one of my happiest memories, that moment, finally seeing her and feeling her embrace... :/ things didn't work out, and everything still hurts, but... that's life for you. ;) I found this song too late to dedicate it to her, but it brings everything back to my memory, that was how I felt at the time... I'm sorry for ranting here, I just wanted to let it all out.

"You said the cherry blossoms were blooming and that I was on your mind" I read somewhere that telling someone that something reminded you of them is a way of saying 'I love you', and nothing's made that ring more true than that line, because despite the beauty of the scenery, she still thought of him Such a simple line, yet so powerful

Beautiful....ahhh
I have met the love of my life in the states last year, during my 3 month internship. We've been apart for almost a year now, but in the meantime he has proposed to me. This song perfectly describes our relationship and it perfectly describes how hard it can be for a couple to be so far away from each other. He has sent me this song today on Skype, and he has also said how he wants us to dance to this song on the day of our wedding. I've been listening to this song for a while now and I just can't stop crying. This song is so beautiful and so inspiring, and I can't wait to dance to it as a future Mrs.!! The world needs more music like this! Artists who sing from their hearts and souls, and who make other people cry and feel perfectly content or whatever feeling a person might feel during the song. This is a music, not just for your ears, but for your heart as well.

+Tomer Sinai Yeah that can hit home for some long distance relationships for sure
I met a really nice French lady in a café in London in May 2018 but unfortunately because I had just lost my a job I didn't have enough money to see her again that summer and later in the year she went off to Mexico for her university but by some miracle we stayed in contact on Facebook messenger. She returned to France the year after and I had sorted myself out by then and in January of this year (2020) I was able to go to France to visit her. I went through quite a hard time over the Christmas period leading up to it though and I would listen to this song regularly to help get me through it. If by some chance Bed Gibbard reads this I want to be thank him for helping me get thought a difficult period of my life. 👍

This is going to break my replay button.
This song reminds me of my daughter leaving home for the first time and how much I missed her. Makes me tear up. She still lives so far away. :(
It’s just perfect. Difficult to think of a more perfectly crafted love song. It’s very beautiful and packs a powerful emotional punch.
lyric videos are so much better than official videos. perfect song.

I sing this to my girlfriend all the time, our lyrics are "if you'll be my bluebird returning, then I'll be your evergreen" this song is heartbreaking
First, let me say that I love this song, but for reasons that I think are different from others. I may be looking too far into this, but I have a theory on this song. There are so many opportunities for this song to go somewhere cool in a musical sense, but it always just falls off and goes back to the same chords/riffs in the end. My theory is that this song and the next in the album, "You've Haunted Me All My Life", are actually a two-part. Looking at it that way, this song is meant to be disappointing, just like the Little Wanderer is as a person. Together the songs become a tale of waiting for someone that always lets you down, and finally managing to let that person go despite loving them still. I don't know why I felt compelled to share this, but I love listening to it in that light.

Just recently started in on this band, and I like the simplicity of the lyrics a lot, it lets you appreciate the songs that may not be meant for you all the same. The singing is top notch and expressive without being whiny, and the overall mood is really chill and awesome. Definitely going to be listening for a while
So I found The Postal Service (a side project from 2003) about a week ago through the radio. Since then I have listened to every album of Death Cab for Cutie and it's weird/amazing how they continue to produce gold like this. Other than The Postal Service album, Death Cab's 3rd and 5th albums have to be my favorite, this one is probably next on that list.
I feel happy that this band exists in this world, bringing beauty to our eyes. Thousands of feelings run through my body when your music plays.
wow, the intro to this song gave me goosebumps and made my eyes start to well with tears
I stumbled on to this video indirectly after looking at various kintsugi videos and am absolutely stunned by how perfectly this song articulates what is going on in my mind as I am currently trying to work things out with my girlfriend who lives in.....you guessed it....Tokyo while I live in the U.S. Great song.

Chris's guitar work on this song made me cry, i cried when he left the name after this album.
This band is so good!
These first 4 singles have already eclipsed all of 'Codes and Keys' for me.
This song reminds me of my friend and I if we ever date. His favorite band is Death Cab For Cutie and I've been listening to them lately because I think of him. I just think that if we ever date, this could be "our song" because I am always traveling and I want to be his "Little Wanderer."
The animation on this is absolutely beautiful, just like the song itself :)
I and the rest of the population in online relationships just threw a fist in the air for the perfection of this song
Ben Gibbard has always been one of my biggest inspirations in my songwriting. I'm so grateful for all the music he's ever made and I hope to one day be for someone else what he was for me.
What a beautiful stunning piece
Love the song, plus these lyric videos are really well done!
this is pure beauty. Excellent as always from DCFC!
I'm soo excited for this album. Plans helped me through a rough breakup and that's Ben's best quality. .... writing amazing songs we all can relate to. And the music. .. s oooooooo good!

basically everytime i met someone online and it went sour. this song makes me go all melancholy with those days. i don't really know why it never worked out. but this song definetly captures those emotions. i think.
This made me smile. Such a beautiful song.
Dcfc songs are sad and beautiful. Pierces the heart.
You sent a photo out your window of Tokyo Told me you were doing fine You said the cherry blossoms were blooming And that I was on your mind But I couldn't make you out through the glitches It's how it always seems to go So we say our goodbyes over messenger As the network overloads When the network overloads You're my wanderer, little wanderer Off across the sea You're my wanderer, little wanderer Won't you wander back to me Back to me Always fall asleep when you're waking I count the hours on my hands Doing the math to the time zone you're at Is an unseen part of the plan But if you'll be my bluebird returning Then I'll be your evergreen Standing tall on your horizon Guiding you home to me Guiding you home to me You're my wanderer, little wanderer Off across the sea You're my wanderer, little wanderer Won't you wander back to me You're my wanderer, little wanderer How I wish that you could see You're my wanderer, little wanderer How I need you back with me Back with me You sent a photo out your window of Paris Of what you wish that I could see But someone's gotta be the lighthouse And that someone's gotta be me And I hope your absence makes us grow fonder I hope we always feel the same When our eyes meet past security, We embrace in the baggage claim When we kiss in the baggage claim You're my wanderer, little wanderer Off across the sea You're my wanderer, little wanderer Won't you wander back to me You're my wanderer, little wanderer How I wish that you could see You're my wanderer, little wanderer How I need you back with me Back with me

So excited for this album...majorly digging that reverb/delay/chorus guitar tone...
And yet Gibbard also indulges some explicit nostalgia for older Death Cab-during the climactic kiss in the baggage claim, the song reveals itself as basically fan-fic to the video for "A Movie Script Ending".
I love this so much! Can't wait to see you guys in Berkeley!!!
I'm loving this. Very Cure-esque. Their music always evokes such emotion.
Beautiful! Love it.

Death cab, you have outdone yourself yet again! Never fails to impress!
Was thinking about my nephew and niece 7,000 miles away right before I saw this post. Glad I clicked the link. I really needed it.
I feel like this song would have fit perfectly on Transatlantacisum, For me personally there has never been a bad song by this band. Just the way Ben executes his words and peaces them together makes me want to dance around my room every time.
I love this video!! It was just as fun watching this video as listening to it. Very mellow and fun to listen to. one of my new favorites off this album.
The DJ in my head plays this song on repeat at least once a week. Reminds me of some of the best guitar parts from Depeche Mode's Enjoy The Silence. Simply beautiful.
I am so looking forward to this album! This song is sort of like 80s indie rock (shades of The Cure?) crossed with mid-period R.E.M. So good!
loving this. the way the melody and lyrics are done reminds me a bit of Rush. Unique but reminds me of that style. really great.
A sad song with a taste of love, just what I'd expect from Death Cab. They know how to make the perfect mix, and add amazing lyrics. Great new album, guys! I, as well as all the other fans here are eagerly waiting for more music!
this album is incredible so far

Great song. Love it!
I'm actually glad that I didn't know about this song at a certain period of my life. I can listen to it now, but back then... it'd have sent me down paths I wouldn't want to be go down..
One of my most favorite summer songs... Two seconds in and I'm taken down in the Snake River Canyon biking around the trails by Auger Falls. Just relaxing yet somehow intense... Like Jack Johnson mixed with Muse
You know as I reflect on seeing this song being played live two months ago, though I was dancing, the performance carried an immense emotionality in every tone. And now as I realise how it can obviously apply to me in my current relationship scenario.
