He's an engineer, not a combattant. It makes sense that his fighting skills is lacking and needs something to ensure he doesn't fall behind.

Let's be honest. Every time Batman appears on Death Battle he gets murdered by an Avenger. Except Captain America.

The biggest difference between them is how they approach a problem: Bruce can counter anything and will use all the info he has against his opponent to the fullest. Tony rigs the playing field in his favor and sets up at the very least half a dozen contingencies for every plan. So while Bruce might even be able to counter Tony's plans as fast as he comes up with them, he by default will always play catch-up, placing him at an inherent disadvantage.

@@bradleybarnett1469 Quite a few blatantly unfair matchups have come from trying to follow "throughlines", or following through on matches we've seen. In fact, both Bane v. Venom (blatantly favoring Marvel) and Batman Beyond v. Spider-Man 2099 (blatantly favoring DC) have come along the exact same throughline. That, or appeasing a fanbase directly after a match they realized too late would be a stomp (eg. Natsu v. Ace *directly after* Zoro v. Erza). In fact, I'd argue it goes both ways; there isn't a single repeat universe on the show that hasn't gotten a matchup that doesn't blatantly feel like giving a toxic, upset fanbase a free win. Dragon Ball gets Android 18, DC gets Darkseid, Marvel gets Black Widow, Naruto gets Naruto himself, Street Fighter gets Ryu's salty runback, etc.

That doesn't even count as assistance when the AI is only following the orders of its creator...which btw, Tony actually builds ALL of his suits, Batman doesn't even build majority of his gadgets, let alone his suits.

Dwayne and Jazz, awesome reaction! And in case you guys didn’t know, this was Batman’s 4th battle in Death Battle, and this marks his 3rd loss out of his 4 battles.

Batman should've gone for the head.

Technically.tony made his own assistance so he kinda earns it.

It's worth noting that Tony has also been trained in hand-to-hand combat by Cap himself, because even Cap recognized that Tony relying entirely on his armor suits was a weakness that could be exploited if an enemy were to corner Tony where he had no access to his various armors. And Batman himself has outright admitted before that if he were to fight Cap, there's a good chance that Cap would win that fight, though it would take Cap a while to pull it off. Tony is no slouch in a fight, even without his armor. Sure, Batman would have been a better hand-to-hand fighter in the end, but not enough to just totally flatten Tony. And with Tony's armor at his disposal, it was honestly just a matter of time before Tony landed the killing blow. Tony simply had far too many options available, and Batman was racing against the clock (literally) before the Hellbat killed him, so Tony could have very easily just bought time with his massive arsenal of armors until the Hellbat finally killed Batman through overuse.

Not to mention the onboard A.I. can pick apart Batman's fighting prowess and create countermeasures for Stark - just like what he did to Cap in Civil War. He was getting trounced badly, until F.R.I.D.A.Y. analyzed Cap's fighting data and began to create countermeasures to fight back and turn the tables... until he lost thanks to Bucky sacrificing that artificial arm and Cap damaging the Arc Reactor with the shield he uses.

@Shawn Kuhn Older models of the Godbuster can compete against entities with much higher levels of reality warping - like the Celestials. The more recent version of the Godbuster annihilated the E-Scape (a whole cyber-universe) in one shot. Not to mention Stark made an armor out of an entire cyber-universe - in the events he doesn't have any armors on hand.

I think you're confusing FORGING with BUILDING. Most consistent versions of Batman has always designed AND built all his suits, gadgets, batmobiles, batplanes, bat-tanks, etc BEFORE handing the BLUEPRINTS to Lucius Fox for MASS PRODUCTION. Overall, I'd say Tony is better at ROBOTICS and Bruce is better at AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING. But they are BOTH EQUAL when it comes to the broader field of MECHANICS and COMPUTER SCIENCE.

@@Cibbic Well if you just consider Mechsuits and Armors, then yes. But those are not the only things that fall under the category of "tech". If you include, AUTOMOBILE/AEROSPACE ENGINEERING, ASTRO-PHYSICS, BIO-CHEMISTRY, etc, then I'd say overall, Bruce is a step ahead.

Nah, because that fight has inevitabilities. This fight is useless to have prep because it wouldn't help Batman with someone like Tony. Honestly, it would give Tony the advantage because it would give him a chance to build a suit specifically to counter the Hell Bat while Batman doesn't even build his own weapons and wouldn't really be able to achieve anything with his prep. As brilliant as Batman is with his prep, it's as a detective and finding weaknesses in opponents. However, Tony is a normal man who builds his own suit and would be coming in with a completely new armor. So, Bruce is not going to find anything there, and there's no way in hell he would ever in a million years hack Friday on his own.

I wonder if Arc reactors could fix the need for the hellbat to feed on batmans metabolism

While it is true that most of Batman's equipment is built by others while Tony builds his own, Batman is very much capable of building his equipment which he does sometimes depending on the urgency or importance and he does take part in designing most of his equipment, only thing is that he just doesn't have a lot of time. Tony's life revolves completely around being Ironman while Bruce is living two lives, he prioritises his life as Batman ofcourse but he does put effort in trying to help others as Bruce Wayne through Wayne Enterprises. Comic book battles can have an unbelievable number outcomes, after all they are fabricated. Regarding this Death Battle, Tony's utilisation of the Ironman suit at the beginning was juvenile, Batman used a mere spec of his gadgets, gadgets which could have allowed him to best tony and instead he focused on using one of his suits which is unlike him. While Batman will forever be my favourite hero and I will always be bias towards him as I believe he can always become victorious, I do acknowledge that Tony is also just as capable of being victorious, I just feel that the death battle did not do either of these two justice. Still enjoyed it though.

@@retronerds6884 I could go more in depth, but this will suffice as an example. To date it is extremely debated whether or not the ironman suit is impervious to an emp. No evidence has proven it can and there has been an instance in which his suit shut down momentarily to protect itself from the emp (which makes no sense as the circuits would still get fried). But lets say that magically Tony's suit survived the emp, it would have given Batman an opening. Further more an emp or an em gadget could be used to combat Tony's nano tech.

Now that you say that I really wonder what it would be apart from the final bat suit. Emp's don't work, suffocation won't work, brute force won't work, and weak points won't work. Maybe the crap he tried pulling on the flash with the light speed vibration bullet

@@Trigger-ub6xn The problem is that Tony is a genius prepared for anything. He is a normal man with no super powers under those suits, so they are designed to compensate for anything. Especially the God Buster would have no such weaknesses if he is able to compete with reality warpers like those they said he did.

Cool video. The long awaited Marvel vs DC fight everyone wanted. Goku Balck is going to be next and I wonder if they will ever use other Dragon Ball characters besides the usual. Also Hopefully they use other Anime characters besides shounen. Rem from Dream Hunter Rem would be interesting to see in a Death Battle. ^_^

If you take away any equipment than it's better but if you allow equipment than Reed wins 110% of the time

Man I wonder how this fight would look like if Batman uses all of his suits because eventhough this was a great battle, it was basically Hellbat vs all of Ironman's suits. I was hoping to see other stuff Batman's Insider suit, Justice Buster,(eventhough it's specifically designed for the justice league) and final Bat Suit in this fight.

I'm not sure if you know this, but if it was put into the analysis, it was factored into the victor. They didn't use other suits due to time and budget constraints.

Wait a second. I just realized. Tony had enough preparation to know who Bruce was and find him on the watchtower as well as understand that he was dangerous enough to warrant sneaking nanobots into his body in the first five minutes of the fight mean that Batman new Tony to. And can you honestly tell me that Bruce would have been able to sleep at night without devising some kind of countermeasure for him. It's not like he's any stranger to nanotechnology. Just sayin, if you're going to give both characters all their comic feats at least give them the same levels of preparation.

Both guys like to rely on preparation so either give neither preparation and put them in a cage match and see who comes out or give both preparation to an equal and fair degree. We know both r insane preppers & geniuses. I like Bats too, but the Bat fanboys gotta realize IM's in a whole different league with the tech game. Hellbat & Elem X r Bats' top dogs & Stark's got armors that hsits on both(I won't even include the Justice Buster). Stark owns the armor schtick, there's no out-prepping that IMO.

@@Bleeperblopper497 Right. What people also don't understand is that all of Batman's "contingency plans" for the other league members are under the predilection they don't go full on evil. Because we've seen what happens when Superman was infected by Doomsday's cells and became Superdoom. He immediately went to Bruce and beat him to within an inch of his life before he could even do anything.

Batman fought against people that were more smarter and were around the same league of tech just as Tony Stark, example being Lex Luther and Batman bodied them.

tony can fight,he is not as skilled,but they literally listed his teachers in hand to hand one of them knows every martial art

Watching this 3 times I had concluded 2 Phrase to describe this and why tony one. Tony is ready for 100 scenario. That means he ready for a tons of stuff but not everything Bruce can get ready for everything. That means to me that Bruce got on sight stuff to deal with Superman level treat but for everything else he only ready with experience or prep time but Bruce is not ready for everything until it come up or came up in the past. So while Bruce has the hellbat and could deal with power, speed and a army but tony paranoia had prep for all that, plus gods plus souls, plus what ever else could happen. But I’m still salty on the way tony won.

They missed some versions of batman for example like the mind chair Batman and the god Batman

Batman lost cause tony put that baño suit in him, but Batman’s whole thing is that he a ninja and always observant to believe tony got it on him without him noticing is ludicrous. They also always portray batman as a thug. They talk about how smart he is then never actually show him doing something smart.

I really thought for sure Batman was going to win at the start, didn't count on iron man using the nano suit in that way. Can't fault Stark for his ingenuity and creative resourcefulness, pretty much have to have that to get a leg up on the Mother F****** Batman.
