I'm 24 years old and I am a huge fan of the King Of Cool Dean Martin no artist today can beat his talent today's artists use technology to sing for them in the 70s and 60s 50s that technology didn't exist eather you could sing or you couldn't I wish Dean could live forever if he would of stopped that cigarette habit he would still be here but his son got killed in Vietnam and it hurt him I suppose I could understand that

This is when you needed talent to be a star....won't see his kind ever again. RIP Dino!

My Mom and Dad didn't listen to alot of the same music, but this was what I would call "their song". They were married for just over 21 years before my Dad passed away. My Mom was a widow at 42 yrs old and I was a 19 yr old sophomore in college. Every time I hear this song, I think of my parents. Mom has now gone on too, after being without her only love for nearly 36 years. Maybe soon I'll be able to join them and we'll be a family again with my older brother too, also gone, just 2 years after my Mom went to be with our Dad. Love this song and the beautiful memories that it brings.❤

Thank you for your kind reply. This year has been particularly difficult, and my Dad passed away on Sun Feb 11th and was buried on Wed Feb 14th, 51 yrs ago, and it just so happened that those dates were on the same days of the week this year and I've been in the hospital for a week now, with no visitors. I'm glad my parents are together in a better place and I'm ready to join them.

Im sorry for your loss. Difficult to carry on when loves of your life have gone but we do. Memories and knowing you will see them someday keeps us going . I lost my parents 18 years ago, three weeks apart, both died on Wednesday at the same time of day. My dad loved my mom and would say Im taking you with me when I die and he did.

My dad from Bari Italy had the same coloring as Dean Martin . Both very strikingly handsome men ! 💔😥 miss you daddy

It is so sad, sometimes we make mistakes in our life that hurt so much. I am just glad he was able to spend his last years with the woman he loved.

My heart breaks for him here. I am just glad that his last moments on this earth were with his Jeannie.

Julia Milford and Diane Uecker, I read in her biography, that Jeanne slept in Dean's bed the Christmas night he died. She held his hand until they took him away. He told her that she was the 'only girl.he ever loved'.

Jesus. Ive never seen him like that. And he kept going. As a widower, who still after years struggles with the loss of my wife lost at a young age, I cant possibly imagine the strength it takes to sing, while your heart is dust.

The likes of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra I don't know if we'll ever see that again. It amazes me how talented they were compared to what we see now. I mean really, what performers can act both drama and comedy as well as sing & dance. I miss those variety shows.

Saw Ol' Blue Eyes in concert many years ago. ❤Wish I could've seen Dino. Incomparable talent.❤

While sitting next to Dino’s daughter in Vegas, Elvis said to her, they can call me the King of Rock but your dad is the King of Cool. Elvis admired several performers mire than most. Dino and Roy.

Possibly the finest live performance of his career. Certainly the most moving. An extraordinary talent singing with his heart on his sleeve.

I was a child when Dean was is "second career" (post Jerry Lewis). I thought he was an OK singers then. Now, when I listen, I appreciate the talent this gentleman had. His voice is soooooo smooth and his music just flows (beautiful). To me, there are only a few singers today that sing to the level of Mr. Martin.

By 1969, Dean was going through marital problems, which sings this song with a deep regret and simply missing his Jeanne. They finalized their divorce in 1973.

After watching Dean singing For The Good Times that was when I saw he was crying. It touched him while he was singing.

The emotions that emerged in Dino's face, especially near the end of the song. His heart, mind and soul were totally into that performance. As he progressed, he seemed to be drawn deeper into the remorse he felt for having cast away the greatest and possibly the only true love in his life. He was struggling to keep himself composed so he could finish. He is truly a legend.

There are some people who should never die.

This man was the best of the best hands down.

I never missed an episode of his Thursday night variety show, and I was just a kid.My dad always watched it, too.He sang so smooth...and had wonderful sense of humor.As a teen, I never missed his Roast specials.

This Man could make any song his own,l Loved Dean,They say we all have a twin ,My Dad and Dean were Twins.l lost My Dad in 67 and trust Me it was hard to watch Dean even there singing voices were exactly the Same.Funny thing My Dad did not like Dean,l would tell Him how could You not Like Dean You too are Twins🤗♥️♥️

I saw both Frank and Sammy in Vegas but did not get a chance to see Dean. He was the king of Kool with a capital K. Sammy always wanted to be Frank, Frank always wanted to be Dean, and Dean always wanted to be playing golf. His said and did funny things and Frank could not tell a joke to save his life. That was a beautiful song sung by a beautiful man.

My best friend has been on Chemo for over a year now and a few days ago was told there was nothing more they can do for him. The Chemo has not worked. He has lost chunks of weight. I am the only one he's got and l have been tearful but not in front of him. However this song has made me stronger to be able to help him till the end because of these words. I have always loved Dean & and his voice. I had a crush on him for years. I met him in Vegas in 1983 and what a gentleman, very soft spoken. We talked for a bit and he asked where I was from. He told me I had to be Canadian as I was not being pushy when I wanted to say Hi to him.

I've Always loved Dean, Elvis called him the King of Cool

He was so handsome, with the finest voice to match. Ray Price was country music's Dean Martin. That guy could really sing, too.

His voice always resonated much more with me than Sinatra.

Him and Jeanne was going Thur a divorce at this time of his life, which explain the tears. My heart breaks every time I see this. There a video of him singing this song from 1983, he was performing in England, he has a big smile on his face. He just announced that Jeanne came with him on the trip, they was hanging out together. I watch that one a lot cause it was,a happier time in his life

Toni Wilson I love to watch that video of his London concert too. I don’t know if you noticed, but there are two really sweet moments that stand out for me: when Dean starts to announce that he and Jeannie were getting back together, he almost said “my wife and I” before stopping himself and changing it to “Jeannie and I”. That to me indicates how he must have always thought of her despite the divorce and all the years they spent apart. Also, while he was singing ‘Bad, Bad Leroy Brown’, he changed the lyrics to ‘At the end of the bar stood a girl named JEANNIE, and Oh she sure looked nice’ I believe that you are right, Dean was a happy man on that trip.

@@lindashelley3635 I'm not sure if they had any of the children with them in 1983 in London. However, Dean performed in London again in 1987 (I believe), it was after Dean Paul had passed away. Jeanne, Dean Paul's son, and one or two of their other children were with them on that trip. Jeanne was the love of his life, and he was hers.

I'm a huge Elvis fan, who sings this song as well. But this version is really great. He sings it with such a great feeling. Very emotional. I like the 1983 version as well.
