They are also attacking Garlic, I had them in Poland on our Lilys and Garlic for two seasons but sprayed them with Pyrethrins and haven't seen them this season. They are also spreading through North America infecting Garlic crops.

Mix 5 tablespoons of Sesame Oil, 2 tablespoons of Dish Soap with 2liters of Water and spay. Not only are the bettles gone, the leafs look nice and shiny. Re apply after rainfall.

Can diatomaceous earth help

I had an infestation last year, this year my lily's had leaves but no flowers. I did not see any beetles this year. Will the lily flowers come back next year or are the plants damaged from the infestation forever?

Hi Deborah, Your lilies will come back this spring! In late spring be on the lookout for them, they were awful this year and probably will be next year. There is a product called "Ambush" that can be used to treat this problem. The correct mixture level is 50ml to 10 L of water, adjust according to your sprayer size. You will want to treat your lilies once a week for three weeks in a row before the flowers are present. Avoid spraying on bulbs and flowers as this will result in non-blooming.
