Tysm. I think on one of your other videos you stated that you thought narcissism was like a plague and that it had rippling effects on our entire society. I got to thinking about that, and I have one case in point. At a time in my life when things were not going well I made the decision to leave nursing school based on influence from a narcissistic family member. That course of action changed my entire life and not for the better. Also how many other people could have been helped by me, that were not, because I never became a nurse? If narcissists are affecting our entire society in that way, then you can definitely see how society is missing out on good people because they are being controlled by these bad folks. Thank you so much for this channel, we greatly appreciate you.❤

Thank you so much for making this content. I have a lot to say but unfortunately I am unable to say on a public platform. What I will say is that they are predators. Their venom will literally get you sick - in every sense of the word. Narcissism should be taught in schools, as well as sociopathy and psychopathy. These monsters rob you of your innocence. It takes years to heal. It’s mind boggling that these people exist, even within your own family. But they do. 😢

They do exist, and it is always worse than any movie or tv show can portray. They drain you of energy and dignity. I hope you are in a better safe space.

There's so much talk about how to deal with narcissists; but weirdly enough, there's almost no content on how to cope with narcissistic parents and growing up in an narcissistic household, and the de-conditioning that is so absolutely needed!! Also, Everyone's pointing fingers and labelling narcissists, but how do we get to the root cause of issue; shaming and blaming to cover up an insecure self....and how to help them grow or manage so this isn't such a huge societal issue?

Those are all good notes and questions. Part of the problem is the narcissism is so ill defined - I see it as victims tell me as it shows up in their toxic behavior other see it as an intrapsychic phenomenon. It is well beyond my expertise. All I know that what works is distance, as one woman told me she divorced from her parents at 16 because they were so toxic and the parental divorce was granted.

Hey there! 👋 Veeraj here! 🌟 I've been absolutely hooked on your videos lately! 🎥 Your content is top-notch and always leaves me wanting more. 😊 I've got a suggestion for a future video that I think would be super interesting. Could you possibly do a video on discerning between genuine discomfort and casual adjustments? Like, how to tell if someone's really avoiding ventral fronting or just getting comfy? It'd be super helpful! Keep up the fantastic work!

The vast majority of advice from experts like you when it comes to narcissism seems to be essentially prepping people to let them go. It’s one of the few conditions that experts seem to agree are essentially unresolvable and untreatable. Classic approaches to mental conditions like therapy and medication just don’t seem to have any impact, and often even empower narcissists further. Wild.

Part of the problem is these individuals don't seek help because they see themselves as perfect. The second problem is that those that live with them or have to work with them don't have the resources to engage professionals to deal with these individuals so they end up being victimized financially psychologically physically and emotionally and as many victims tell me when they call us psychologist for help what they hear is the following "do you have insurance? What kind of insurance do you have" everybody has Insurance to cover the situations in fact, I would argue that 99% of the population cannot find the help they need, so what are they left with is to distance themselves from these highly toxic individuals that have no conscience.

@@joenavarrobehaviorexpert you hit the nail on the head (no shock there). They see zero room for self improvement (they’re perfect already), and they can manipulate all but the most specifically trained therapists, of whom there are VERY few, and none of whom take insurance. It’s frustrating, but it won’t get better without educating the world. Which is one reasons why we value you so much!

3:02 This is so true. Over the last two years I have been exposed to this family member again. After being away from her for about seven years. In only two years, I have gone from being happy and hopeful to extremely depressed and with very upsetting mental thoughts. The only thing that has really changed is that I’ve had this person around me. You’re right they will corrode your life, and it is also having effects on my other family relationships.
