Dealing with the bluffing stage Indian ringneck parrot.
We watched several KZread videos this is what worked for us. What works with one bird does not always work with others let me also say our bird is a young bird if you have an older bird you might wanna look at something else.

This is great. Thank you.
I use a perch to step up.
This is the ONLY thing that worked! Thank you. I can’t wait for this stage to end bc it’s awful.

Has she gotten better?
My Sun sometimes bluffs and she is 18. I wonder if this technique will help because when she does try to go for me I do get a bit scared and hand becomes less stable and I think she smells my fear.
i raised my ringneck since it had no feathers and now it likes my husband instead. It stays so i can feed it and then it will fly to my husband. He wines /whimpers ..... is he sad ? or is this what all ringnecks do ?This is making me sad as i bought him for myself and have tried to bond with him but its just not happening. Also i call it a he but we dont know for sure .I am waiting for the DNA .results. ANY Advice ?
But then you dont gain the trust of the bird
So bluffing occurs in female or male ringnecks?
I just recently got 2 ringnecks and it did not take me long to figure out they're in the bluffing stage 😂 we've made a lot of progress over the past few days and I've taken a few nasty bites, but we've also over come a lot and bonded. I was getting disheartened because the only way for my to get them to step up, is if I'm wearing a jumper with the sleeve covering my fingers. One still tries to bite through the jumper but the other is getting used to just stepping up. Im going to try the swooping motion tomorrow to see if that helps but I was wondering if you have any tips on if the swooping motion works, and they're on my hand, what should I do if they start to bite when sitting on my hand? I was advised to shake them carefully so they don't fall off but they lose a bit of balance. It worked for a little bit but eventually she bit down harder and actually took a chunk out of my finger. I know it's a lot of patience and trying to understand each other but man does it hurt when they bite with intention and I'm hoping to get some tips. Great video though :)
