DEAF HAVANA - ENGLISH HEARTS (FULL MOVIE) - Feature-length documentary from Old Souls Deluxe album
Музыка
Deaf Havana created a feature-length documentary, entitled English Hearts, which was released as a CD/DVD combination on the deluxe version of Old Souls in 2013. This documentary covers the story of Deaf Havana and features the stories of how the members met, their first tour, Friends Like These, being the only song that people knew by them, and the addition of Matthew Veck-Gilodi and Max Britton to the band. It features interviews with the band members, their families, the record labels BMG and A Wolf At Your Door and former vocalist Ryan Mellor.
It was directed by Jon Stone, a director who had previously filmed the band performing "The World or Nothing" at Hit the Deck Festival, and consequently gone on to photograph, film and be creative director alongside the band up to this day.
It is now being released on KZread for the first time.

I'm literally living in Iran, trying my best to understand their British accent since English isn't even my first language, and these completely random guys living in a different continent from a town I had never even heard of, have been my best friends, the soundtrack of all my ups and downs and just hands down, a damn miracle in my life since I first heard Holy and started digging. Old Souls has so many songs I could die for, tunes I never get tired of hearing....I've been telling people around me about Deaf Havana for years. So I guess what I'm trying to say is... You guys, all of you, are amazing and I'm glad I found you... Thanks for making music, and hope you keep doing it for long enough so that I can actually see you guys live someday.... Thank you...

Love this so much!! Literally the best band ever aren’t they?! Really wish they would get the recognition they truly deserve
Massively underrated band. Been a fan since the beginning and it’s odd because all of their changes, musically and line up wise has coincided with changes in my life too, so they’ll always have a special place in my heart.
This band is in my top 5 of all time and I’m 56. Massively underrated
I've grown up with this band and it keeps holding an insanely special place in my life and heart. Seeing this movie and learning more about them makes it an even bigger and stronger connection that I will never break nor forget. Amazing band, amazing people, and amazing memories.
Best and most underrated band in the world, hands down. Thanks for all the great and truthful music ❤
Guys, please make this rotten world a better place with your music, don’t disappear. Love you!
❤ My favourite band since 2011. Deaf Havana will always hold a special place in my heart!
I remember first seeing Deaf Havana many years back play with Anberlin in Melbourne Aus. Have been one of my favourite bands ever since.
After all these years, they’ve been one of the few musical constants in my life. Since my teenager years up to now in my early 30’s. Their music has grown along with me and it’s beautiful. Thank you Deaf Havana!

We are all pretty much in the same boat, and I love that.
I only discovered Deaf Havana maybe a year ago and honestly they've gone on to become my favourite band. I don't think I've heard a single song from them that doesn't come with so much heart and feeling, Happiness is now my favourite song so thank you for that. I honestly cannot believe how undrated they are. I grew up not far from Hunstanton and regularly visited (I still do on occasion) and I wish I'd found them sooner so I could get to one of their gigs. Fingers crossed I'll still get the chance. Keep up the amazing work and much love to everyone else who enjoys their music.
I'm already dying for a new album and tour 😂 chop chop, lads.

I love this band so much. I can‘t put it into words. Since I can remember we share our wars against the world and the love for our lives. Nearly 15 years later I still feel like a superhero when I listen to them. ❤❤❤❤❤
All of Deaf Havana's albums are my favourite albums but Old Souls always brings back so much nostalgia of great times with friends and hope for the future. Such a joy to revisit and it was great to see all of the boys again. Can't wait for the next album.
I’ve seen this documentary so many times but this is exciting because it might be the start of DH releasing other stuff. Any one for watching St Pancras again?? 😍😍

Watched this loads of times it gets better with every watch. Just goes to show that hard work pays off. Hoping for a tour and a fools and worthless liars vinyl to complete my collection
I remember going to the premier of this I Hunstanton, it was such a special evening. I just can't believe it's been ten years!! Deaf Havana has been in my ears for many, many years now, holding a special place in my heart. Always finding a way to describe feelings ofhate, love, lows and highs of life, in ways I could never do myself. The musicality of the band is incredible. The changes in line up and sound they have gone through, the battles James has come through makes Deaf Havana more than a band, but an inspiration. I love that this has been put on KZread now. They really are so "f.king underrated"
Discovered them supporting Nothing but Thieves in Lille, France. Immediately bought their music and absolutely love it! The melodies, the melodies!!
I bought this album limited edition signed by the band it is one of my most prized possessions, seeing this again brings me back
Ah Myspace, those were the days! It was really nice to walk down memory lane with you guys last night since I’ve just known you for about 2 years. Please keep on blessing us with your music 🖤 (And a new tour, no pressure though lol)
They're in my top 5 bands - soundtrack to my life.
the band personally saved my life
i've been a fan of these guys since first seeing them back on kerrang with 'friends like these' and see how the bands style has morphed and grown in that time, hearing james's vocals evolve in that time has been an absolute pleasure. You all deserve massive success you've earnt and i'll be a fan every step of your journey, can't wait to hear what you do next
Followed Deaf Havana for years for me this was when everything came together and never to be repeated great box set every trak excellent great band live love to see them tour with the same line up used on this album
So nostalgic watching this after over a decade of listening to the band on and off. Lovely to see the story of how the soundtracks of my youth came into being
Best best best band so much love for them still to this day seeing them again soon with you me at six love seeing there progress ❤
Cannot wait! Deaf Havana always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
Nostalgic for me not just for the music but also Hunstanton was the place my family used to go almost every year for our family holiday when I was a little boy, I'm 35 now, and I recognise almost all of the places shown in this video, some haven't really changed over the years either
Deaf Havana, likely the greatest band to never receive the hyper popularity they deserve... I've been there all along, their music goes along with my life...just...awesome... music...❤
Been a fan since 09 will be a fan till I die. I've still never met them though. It's a dream
time to get sucked into the deaf Havana wormhole of music again.
Ah this is so nostalgic. Can’t understand how they still aren’t huge huge. Best band alive. Really do love this album though ❤
So many fab memories in here, had some great times , met many friends as well as you guys at your gigs, love you guys, I do miss seeing Lee and Tom bit glad your still going. Agree about Norfolk Cromer was dead. ❤️

Beautiful songs, beautiful memories.
I love this band so much that it hurts
I've named my daughter after the band. Deaf havana have saved me throughout hard times. Cheers 😊
I think every album this band has brought out has reflected something in my life, and I'm grateful to have grown with a band that writes so eloquently. Cheers guys
Never seen this before, it was great to see how you's grew! It was quite a journey and how you's got to that Old Souls sound. It's my favourite album of all time! It feels like home and keeps me grounded and I thank you for that gift and for just existing 🙂 I look forward to more music guys! ❤
This video has a emotional happy connection. I choked at some parts... It's like family, I don't know them personally but they seem a good bunch of lads and have the close connection, it's amazing. you guys will get to Wemberly and I'll be there. Keep up the good work awesome video.
Didn’t watch it for a long time…because of all the changes…met the boys in Hamburg, back in the old days…🥰 Maybe you’re doing a reunion.🙏🤗🎉🥰
This was such a great watch. Please find your way back to the US!
Loved this so so much! You guys are incredible and I just love you more and more with each song / video!
Great insight to life behind the scenes and how hard the guys have worked to get to where they are today. Long may it continue x

How do James and Matty feel watching this back? Very intrigued
Love this band. Shame most of the members have gone there own way now but I suppose its just that they wanted to take different paths in there lives. 🙌🤘 New album is still awesome tho.

If you buy the cd, the dvd comes with it. My pal bought it me, signed. Just incase youtube somehow implodes or.....the videos get taken down 👊 Edit: and with deaf havana being the best kept secret ever, it's only like...a few £ 2nd hand.
This cements it for me that Deaf Havana isn’t Deaf Havana anymore.
THis is awesome. Are there more coming from these last 10 years ?
We need you at furnace fest 2024 PLEASE
Hell yeah, guys so proud miss the days in Brandon when I was security haha legends 🤘🐼🤘🇬🇧💚💯🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is a nostalgic piece of remembrance, but if we're honest the original DH are not the same at all and the sound they have now is good but in no way the same. Still love them nonetheless haha much love guys
