Hello Lord Spoda. Deadwood, the logical sequel to your Sturgis video yesterday. What is good with you is that there is always a moment when we drink a little shot of Jack's in a very nice place.....we shouldn't meet, it would end up in a cure for whiskey , ah ah !

Many thanks to both of you for all your excellent videos showing the real America. I live in England and many years ago worked with a man called Joseph Rosa in an office in London. He was a world authority on Wild Bill Hickok and wrote a number of books about him (I have them all, signed by him too!). On a holiday with a group of friends in the early 1990s I asked that we visit Deadwood so that I coud visit the town to see where he was shot and killed, and buried.

I’m in Deadwood/Lead area now. Girlfriend is from here. You missed a lot of history and places, like Homestake mine. Largest gold taken in America for 123 years. Plus all the natural beauty outside Deadwood, creeks and simply amazing trails. Can’t see everything though, I get it. Maybe next time By the way, much of the history in Deadwood is fabricated for tourism. Calamity Jane was buried next to wild bill as a rub on him, not her dying wish, Lol! I’m spending time to gold hunt and find the real history as much as I can, and it’s a beautiful journey of discovery here 👌

When I was in Washington visiting my son I took the day out and drove a couple hours away to where they filmed Northern Exposure which was supposed to be a town in the boondocks in middle Alaska. I mean I recognized everything right away and they still have the radio station in the window that you could look at with the old, old, old radio equipment, the General store and I had lunch at The Brick which looks a lot different than the TV show inside, the outside look the same. I was able to get something off my bucket list because I love that show, maybe one day you’ll make it there if you haven’t already. The town was Roslyn, Washington

Yes, unfortunately the historic Deadwood wasn't kept seperate from modern times. Just as Virginia City Nevada wasn't protected But I appreciate you two covering the historic past and there are certainly interesting places in Deadwood. The Montana Virginia City, Nevada City, Bannock City, and Garnett are very well preserved and kept like they were in the "old days"

Sawing the photos of Deadwood on google maps and seeing all the motorcycles parked in the street gave me a smile. It has a cool history. Nice to see a video of it.

President Grant sorely wanted to make peace with the Indians. He had a treaty drawn up at the beginning of his term giving the Indians the Black Hills. Then, a recession occurred. The U.S. needed gold badly. Grant sent Custer in to investigate, telling him if he found anything to keep quiet. Custer found gold and let eastern news papers know about it before Grant.
