Hello Lord Spoda. Deadwood, the logical sequel to your Sturgis video yesterday. What is good with you is that there is always a moment when we drink a little shot of Jack's in a very nice place.....we shouldn't meet, it would end up in a cure for whiskey , ah ah !
What a beautiful ❤️ view of Deadwood, from that Cemetery. I never knew Wild Bill had such a big grave.
Cool video! Love seeing anything about the Old West, and seeing the graves is amazing. Thanks for your videos, they're much appreciated.

Hi! We are loving your videos and just watched this one last night. Deadwood looks like an amazing place. We had no idea!! It’s beautiful.
Many thanks to both of you for all your excellent videos showing the real America. I live in England and many years ago worked with a man called Joseph Rosa in an office in London. He was a world authority on Wild Bill Hickok and wrote a number of books about him (I have them all, signed by him too!). On a holiday with a group of friends in the early 1990s I asked that we visit Deadwood so that I coud visit the town to see where he was shot and killed, and buried.
I’m in Deadwood/Lead area now. Girlfriend is from here. You missed a lot of history and places, like Homestake mine. Largest gold taken in America for 123 years. Plus all the natural beauty outside Deadwood, creeks and simply amazing trails. Can’t see everything though, I get it. Maybe next time By the way, much of the history in Deadwood is fabricated for tourism. Calamity Jane was buried next to wild bill as a rub on him, not her dying wish, Lol! I’m spending time to gold hunt and find the real history as much as I can, and it’s a beautiful journey of discovery here 👌

You won't be disappointed. It's really a fun place to spend a several days, plus it's nearby so many other great places to see. :)
When I was in Washington visiting my son I took the day out and drove a couple hours away to where they filmed Northern Exposure which was supposed to be a town in the boondocks in middle Alaska. I mean I recognized everything right away and they still have the radio station in the window that you could look at with the old, old, old radio equipment, the General store and I had lunch at The Brick which looks a lot different than the TV show inside, the outside look the same. I was able to get something off my bucket list because I love that show, maybe one day you’ll make it there if you haven’t already. The town was Roslyn, Washington

Taken several trips out there. You guys only visited a fraction of the interesting and fun bars etc out there. We always stayed at Mineral Palace. They had an excellent restaurant attached to hotel that served breakfast, lunch and dinners, along with a bar.
I'm thinking of one day flying into Denver, then renting a vehicle to drive up to western South Dakota to see Mt Rushmore and Deadwood area, so I'm looking out for some US-85 footage on the way to Cheyenne.

Hey Spoda...Deadwood S.D...man,I've always wanted to visit Deadwood, actually I've always wanted to visit that whole area of western South Dakota...and it's interesting seeing all the bikes etc, when you think of Sturgis you don't really think about everywhere else that's close to Sturgis also being effected but it makes sense considering Sturgis is a town of 7000 and it swells up to 700,000+ for the bike rally so those folks have gotta go somewhere as Sturgis can't hold em' all so it completely makes sense for em' to invade rapid city as well as deadwood and all points between etc...I loved seeing the town of Deadwood as well as the cool bikes...cool video brother!

Deadwood is horrendous and has nothing to offer other than casinos.
There's a gold mine tour in Lead that was very informative.
The original #10 is at the back and down stairs. The original street was much lower than the present main street.
After Rapid Cit, I, my mom and sister, saw the Deadwood Pageant. That was summer, 1953, at age 13.
You should go in the winter is so nice we are leaving Jan 18 to go up there we stop of in custer for a few days then head up there
This is so funny, the last time I was there, in 2007, there were 3-4 different saloons all claiming to be the real # 10.
Never seen strips of hotels like that… 🙂Kinda strange. Deadwood is beautiful country side. Thank you for going to the graveyard! Would be satisfying to live there.

I actually stayed in the bullock hotel because it was haunted. Even stayed in the very room where Seth bullock died. Also went on a ghost tour of the Fairmont hotel across the street and visited the historic saloon number 10. Also went to the Adam's house. All four locations were on a TV show called ghost adventures. The episode was titled ghost adventures halloween special: deadwood city of ghosts

I live nearby in the bigger city. While cool, after the novelty wears off, I don't know what locals would do in Deadwood for a pastime ? Same with Lead, or any other small town in the hills. Sure there's the hills, but what else ? Things are declining in Rapid as well. Tourism down.
You went into Saloon #10 but didn't go to the back where the table is that Wild Bill Hickock was shot and the door that Jack McCall came through??? That's the main reason to go in there.
Y'all should have gone to Seth Bullock's grave, it was only few hundred yards from Wild Bill's grave.
something about that part of the country i live in the mid atlantic part of the country and rarely do you meet someone from the dakotas montana that area it must be a great place but you can have it wouldn't go on your dollar
To anyone that wants to go here and doesn't want to see the motorcycles, just avoid the last of July and the first 10 days of August. The Sturgis motorcycle rally will be happening and it's super loud and noisy. We've been there in the early part of July and it was pretty quiet

Yes, unfortunately the historic Deadwood wasn't kept seperate from modern times. Just as Virginia City Nevada wasn't protected But I appreciate you two covering the historic past and there are certainly interesting places in Deadwood. The Montana Virginia City, Nevada City, Bannock City, and Garnett are very well preserved and kept like they were in the "old days"
Sawing the photos of Deadwood on google maps and seeing all the motorcycles parked in the street gave me a smile. It has a cool history. Nice to see a video of it.

President Grant sorely wanted to make peace with the Indians. He had a treaty drawn up at the beginning of his term giving the Indians the Black Hills. Then, a recession occurred. The U.S. needed gold badly. Grant sent Custer in to investigate, telling him if he found anything to keep quiet. Custer found gold and let eastern news papers know about it before Grant.
