The caveat is that it's Deadpool and Wolverine. Everyone was gonna go see this regardless of rating, especially with all the cameo rumors. It would mean more if a film like Blade or a R rated Ghost Rider did huge numbers.

If it makes that money the twitter people will complain about how they went to see Deadpool and Wolverine’ and not the Marvels 😂

I think it was a blessing it took so long for DP3 to be made. I think that wilts all of the main superheroes (RDJ, Chris Evans) not doing these movies anymore, people are hungry for one of the heroes from the 2010’s to come back.

There is no doubt that Deadpool and Wolverine is going to make tons of money.

I mean, if we all see it twice opening weekend then we break $400M RIGHT GUYS??

An X-Men MCU movie will be at the number one spot, one day.

My whole family is going to see it opening weekend

I want this to be a banger. I want this to actually get the top spot. I think this is important for the future of the X-Men and MCU. Wolverine is my favorite character, and so I'm hoping this is just going to blow my mind. I will be there on opening day. And if it is good, I will go a couple, maybe a few times that opening weekend.

1.5 billion if its good. I think it'll be heavily re-watchable . Already bought tickets for Friday and Saturday and there's so many good things surrounding this film.

People took their kids to watch the first two Deadpool movies and were surprised it was R-Rated, so this made by Marvel will not make a difference. And even a guy on a forum was always saying that Deadpool 3 will never be R, because Disney can't do that. If I hadn't left the forum I think he would own me money^^.

I think after all this time without MCU or X-Men movies, this one will make more than a billion dollars globally.

250 is a lot. No Way Home made 260 with the MCU in a better state and let’s be real the hype for this isn’t the same as NWH. I think a better comparison would be Multiverse of Madness. I think it’s gonna just miss that projection and come in like 180-200

3 things that will make this movie hit over the billion mark..1 you have returning deadpool mans..2 you got Hugh coming back as Wolverine and not just his normal Wolverine character but in the comic book yellow suit tons of fans have always wanted to see..and 3..if lady deadpool turns out to be Taylor Swift that alone will push this movie over the billion dollar mark..you'll have all the Tay Tay fans going to see this on top of everything thing else I mentioned..not to mention all the leaked characters and marvel and X men stars that will be in it.

I work at a movie theater and I am excited but horrified at the same time! Even before I worked at a movie theater I always loved following Box Office numbers. John I love your analogy about how Box Office numbers represent people and not dollars. That is incredibly true. This movie will be a Juggernaut (Pun intended) LFG!!

I will say both movies theaters of Regal Entertainment in AMC are kind of divided because AMC movie theater is practically jam-packed for Deadpool where Regal Entertainment is kind of a little bit on the low side but I believe they'll probably take those tickets when we get really close to the premiere date

Are these opening weekend numbers domestic or worldwide? Maybe it was mentioned and I missed it. UPDATE: Indeed, they are domestic... wow, these predictions are insane!! And the fact that it can even surpass this is a game-changer, specially during these times. Hopefully the movie is good, too!!

Not to mention ever since End Game they have hyped every Marvel movie since snd they just keep disappointing. It's Marvel so the Marvel loyalists will probably empty their wallets opening weekend regardless and yes I'm sure many might probably spend more than they can afford to attend rewatches since these days some people focus more on wants than needs.

I just find it odd that people complain every day about gas prices, food prices and the cost of everything in general but don't think twice about spending the amount of money to watch the same movie in theaters multiple times. Personally, I will watch a movie I'm excited about once in imax (if available) and once in a standard theater just to see the difference in the experience and then I'll just wait for streaming after that.

So hyped for this movie. It's been what i wanted and many fans aswell to see Deadpool/Wolverine together in a movie with 2 of the greatest actors portraying the Characters. It's going to be such a treat... It's going to be awesome. I couldn't be more excited. I love Marvel Studios

People are bored of the MCU kid friendly comicbook films. This is a unique R Rated movie with two popular characters. What else is likely to follow this and do as well ? X-Men ?

Some fun math stuff: Take the average ticket price of 2016 and 2024 and use them to compute the average number of tickets sold, or will be sold in case of DP 3 projections (let's say 200M). You see that the average number of ticket sales will increase by 25% from DP 1 to DP 3. Compare this to the increase in US population and you'll find that the relative attraction, i.e. number of ticket sales divided by population, increases just by 0,95%.

All I'm saying is, 5% of the US population went to see DP 1 (huge success!) and probably 6% of the US population will go to see DP 3 (again a huge success). That's all...

Someone please tell me why everyone has such a hard-on for the idea of comic book movie fatigue being a real thing? Like every time comic book movies start having less box office numbers everyone’s like “Hell yeah! Look we were right! Comic book movie fatigue is real!” I mean why would you even want it to be? Don’t you want good movies? What is there to gain by movies failing? This movie’s projections prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the problem isn’t fatigue of the genre, it’s the mediocrity that it’s generally been associated with lately, because I will fully admit that since Endgame both the Marvel and DC movies, while they’ve had their good outings here and there definitely haven’t been putting out a ton of bangers either, for the first time since the beginning of its hot streak with the original Avengers in 2012 we’re in a true lull with the genre, it’s truly jarring because it hasn’t happened for 12 years now, but that doesn’t mean the hunger for them is gone now, people will still jump at the idea of seeing a great comic book movie and these projections prove it

It amazes me how much people DONT pay attention! I’m hoping most of this fanbase knows the Deadpool routine. Alas this movie will still be insane!

Remember folks, superhero fatigue doesn’t exist, it’s just bad movie fatigue, when you give up on superhero films, you think superhero fatigue is real

What the possibility that Deadpool & Wolverine beats spiderman no way home opening weekend no way home is 260 opening I think their a high chance it can top it

Oh, parents are bringing kids to see this and have no idea it is R rated. This movie should be close to No Way Home. Same premise, let's bring together characters we know from movies we mostly like and the people will come. Milking existing IP is par for the course. I may see it in week 2 or 3 if it still controls premium screens. Those jokes are just too tired for me to pretend I care about this movie enough to deal with all the people coming out to see this.

I truly believe it's only going to hit at least 180 million at most. Whatever they are. There's a lot of variables nowadays that keep families fat asses at home and just waiting for it to stream lol.

Saying the "superhero fatigue" narrative is incorrect because people wanna see Deadpool & Wolverine is like saying if ratings for most sports collapsed, people not wanting to watch sports anymore isn't true because tons of people still watch the Superbowl that year. One colossal example does not a trend make. The public interest in superhero movies is trending down, that is indisputable.

Mario was a bit different tho cuz Mario was a kids movie aimed at young children and they don’t care about the quality of movies this is why animated movies have a huge advantage cuz of kids begging there parents too take them however Deadpool and Wolverine will be mostly older teens and adults plus people are really looking out for the quality on these marvel movies especially with how much mediocracity they have put out

the movie will make over a $1 Billion it will have a historic weekend its all set up to be that way

With the release of this movie and then following it up with San Diego comic con announcements, Marvel is gonna have a great weekend.

People do have superhero movie fatigue. Marvel giving us a break this year by putting out only one movie was a good idea. I think the audience is ready for something new, and hopefully epic.

@@talanock nah don’t get it twisted i myself love marvel and dc and it was fun at the beginning, but then it got excessive specially with unnecessary cash grab movies. I thought I would never get tired of superhero movies but I did when it didn’t feel special anymore and I’m sure I’m not the only one that felt that way.

It’s ok to have a traditional lead to your films. That’s what people want.

I think the movie will be successful but not make a billion more like 800 million.
