The bosses at Marvel Studios make plans for about 4-5 years worth of projects at a time. Sometime after the first Deadpool, they probably told Ryan about their multiverse plans and how Deadpool 3 could be in the MCU. So when it comes to Deadpool 2, like you said, its all part of the plan

I think they planned it but also not planned it, they planned it because they want time travel mutant cable in Deadpool 2 then Deadpool messing with time and restore X-Men storyline. What they don't expect is fox was bought by Disney later. So they had to change the plan and join mcu instead.

A lot of things lined up well for D&W. Disney bought out Fox. Marvel started dealing with the concept of the Multiverse in Avengers Endgame and Phase 4, and this ending (which was in all likelihood was meant to be a throwaway gag not to be mentioned in the original plans for DP3) serving as the perfect gateway to the MCU.

As far as I'm concerned it is 100% canon in both the MCU and DCEU that Deadpool did this. That's why we never see Green Lantern in DCEU movies, plus executing Fakepool doesn't cause any continuity issues with the MCU or X-movies at all. :)

Fox really lucked out with Logan (or maybe Hugh himself in between takes?) saying "Huh?" and "Oh, right." It made the scene work amazingly well.

1:40 I love how it fits perfectly with what actually happened 4 years after. Ryan Reynolds has officially used the true Deadpool to clean the timeline from Barakapool, and of course Hugh did eventually hang up the claws. But along came Deadpool 3, where Deadpool (Ryan) asked Wolverine (Hugh) to get back in the saddle again. Almost like this scene made a difference in both the fictional universe as well as our own. Absolutely amazing!

​@@Skullbonknot much because it's a movie and a comedy at that, but Deadpool's weapon of choice is the Desert Eagle, which can only hold 9 rounds max if it's in .357 magnum. However, I think it's shown in DP1 that he uses the .50 AE version, and that only holds 7 rounds. So yeah, technically he fired almost twice as many shots as the magazine could actually hold.
