Because it would have been made sooner if people hadn't ripped Origins a new one thinking that was all the Deadpool we were going to get (granted the movie did itself no favors only shipping the stinger showing him alive and shushing the audience with half the reels, but still it works better as an updated origin better than its given credit for).

What happened was Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller (Director) made this for the studio to get them to make the film. The studio said no after the failure of X-men Origins Wolverine. So someone no one knows who exactly but they know their name rhymes with BYAN BEYNOLDS, leaked the trailer to force the studio make the film.

I discovered Deadpool with Marvel Ultimate Alliance, from then every time I drew him people thought it was a ninja version of Spider-Man. I'm glad this movie came out and Deadpool became as popular as he is now, he's a great character.

I always knew who Deadpool was, but I never got into him until the game came out.

How I remember being surprised with this footage and how they captured Deadpool’s personality flawlessly, and seeing it again for the 2016 film.

I like his personality better in this test footage. This feels like there are television channels flipping in his head, like he's schizophrenic and switching personalities every few seconds. He's good in the movies too, but he's basically just playing Ryan Reynolds.

So glad I didn't watch this when it leaked because I loved the finished version when I saw it in theatres for the first time. Still, love how the final version is so accurate to this one.

It’s amazing how similar this 2011/2 release is to the actual 2016 film. Seeing this first and then seeing the film years later, I got callbacks to this exact scene.

I remember first watching this thinking it was a trailer to a new Deadpool game but then they later confirmed it would become a film and now here we are 10 years later and fans and Ryan got the Deadpool they always wanted

I will never forget the day i stumbled onto this video thinking it was a fan film at the time I was 13 depressed and no friends and a nerd with a love for comic books and thankfully the approval to read deadpool from my dad who also loves comics I was home hospitalized for my blood disorder and reading comics was my get away from the struggles of life when I saw this video I felt nothing but pure joy because it was honestly like watching a comic book being properly adapted to a movie I showed my dad and he told me that it was official leaked trailer and I said "WAIT YOUR SHITTING ME RN UTS REAL" I gotta pass on swearing then after I kept up with all the news and updates for this movie and my dad agreed on one condition I got nothing but passing grades and I had no homework on opening night and that I didn't tell my younger siblings I went to go see it and after wearing my special hot topic deadpool hoodie and beanie I was happier with what the final product was and i have this video to thank for it

I agree. They obviously had to change some things around once they had their script and story and had their bad guy, to make the movie work and to make the scene work in the film as a whole. I think it works AND most of the people in the theater were laughing hysterically at that whole sequence.

Probably watched DP like 15 or 20 times now but I too missed this "leaked" footage until I just happen to be watching a old interview on the The Graham Norton Show today and I was like what.... leaked footage... and here I am. If it wasn't for this leaked test footage, we would've never gotten the Deadpool movies and also the brand new Deadpool & Wolverine coming out this year, we have to thank this test footage for bringing us all this way.

Thanks to whoever leaked it, this 2024 we will finally see Deadpool and Wolverine in the movies, and who knows, probably even Deadpool and Spiderman in the future

I watched this nonstop it was so cool. Seeing this scene in all of it's glory in theaters was a sight to behold.

it's astonishing how much of this made it into the final film.

Ryan was always destined to be Deadpool and this proved it.

The funny thing is, I remember a good several years back when this test footage was released online. I didn't know anything about Deadpool back then. I do remember absolutely loving the test footage and hoping it would be made into an actual film. I hope this gets preserved as an important piece of media. It's weird though, cause as brilliant as the test footage was, I can watch the same sequence in the film and see a vast improvement in quality! Still, this is where the seeds were sown...
