Christmas got Scrooged by the tornado across the affected area. Everything is trashed. Instead of celebrating people will be doing funerals 😢 prayers all around.🙏

Biden granted the Emergency Declaration for Kentucky in ONE DAY... faster than any other president has EVER done. They love the money (because that’s why people have jobs, duh), not that something like this happened. They love the fact they get to report on this kind of thing to spread the news, not the fact the tragedy occurred. And yea, some of you are saying ‘oHohohoho! Well they’re not just after the money’ yeah you’re right. We’ve had tornadoes but they were nothing in comparison. They never touch down, it’s always a funnel cloud and then it goes away. But I couldn’t imagine how terrifying a night tornado is.

I know now isn't the time to be pointing fingers. But ALL large scale plants, shopping facilities and schools in the Midwest and tornado alley should be required to have a storm safe room that is underground or has thick concrete walls. (I know my local walmart does) I know that would be an expensive requirement for a what if scenario, but thats often the only way to survive a direct hit from one of these mile wide monsters. Thin metal walls and roofs are a joke to an F5.

Where I live on the East Coast we rarely if ever see tornado's especially F3 or above. We do get our share of powerful hurricanes but we always have plenty of warning. These people just experienced what must be like a hurricane without warning and with even higher winds. My God this has to be terrifying coming in the night like this. I know how terrifying it is to survive a night with no power during a powerful hurricane but I can't imagine what it must be like to be awaken in the middle of the night and realize you're in the path of something like this.

It's Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois This was a massive outbreak of tornados including a huge quad-state tornado that may of gotten to EF5 and may of broke the famous Tri-State tornados distance record. The news is currently downplaying it. That one beast went across the Mississippi River. This breakout of storms was absolutely insane and historical...and at night in December I think alot more people died than what they are currently saying sadly

The state was hit with multiple EF4 and EF5 tornadoes. 13 tornadoes that day in the state of Alabama. Seemed as if there wasn’t safety anywhere. So we know how the people affected by the killer storms feel during the tragic event on December 11, 2021. It’s heart breaking. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who lost their lives, the survivors and those whose homes and businesses were lost.

200 miles for one tornado is unheard of. This is not an everyday event dude. Tornados aren't supposed to last over topography. Even a shopping center on a hill would dissipate a small tornado. F5s are the stuff of movies, except they aren't. These people probably had 5 minutes or less warning before it hit.

Massive tornadoes in the middle of the dark night just sounds utterly terrifying. Plus, just imagine yourself working in a really loud factory environment when the entire giant structure just suddenly comes crashing down, likely without warning to these workers just trying to do their jobs.

@VesperAegis usually when severe weather is imminent people keep an eye on the radar and if theres tornado warning they'll get the workers in safe aread. I know, i was at work in a print shop in Nashville when that tornado came thru and hit downtown. It hit the building i was in and took out a huge corner. It got my pickup truck too. My boss coworker and i were in the center of the building in a tiny bathroom. Last night at 2am i called my brother at his work to warn him of a tornado that just passed my town McEwen TN. The tornado hit his building and tore off some of the roof. It's in Dickson TN. They were aware of the tornado heading towards that area so everyone there went to the safest areas in the building.

I was in an earthquake in a hotel room in San Francisco in the late 80s. I watched a parking garage across the street collapse. California may not have tornadoes, but you do have earthquakes. They can both be devastating, but there is never advanced warning with an earthquake.

I live in Kentucky, n it was horrible experience but me n my family made it safe. Condolences goes out to all the ones that didn't make it n their loved ones. 😢

My heart goes out to our midwest. He mentioned going through Hurricane Katrina and feels this is worse, so are they assuming thousands are dead like during Katrina?😥💔 I went through Hurricane Katrina. That was beyond traumatic. The little kids I once watched over drowned in their apartment with their parents. The little girl who was taken out of her mothers arms by an alligator off of the roof in New Orleans East and was eaten alive in front of her family..the bodies...thousands. babies bodies everywhere. Omgosh. It was terrible and we kept finding body parts years later. I can only imagine what they're feeling at this time. 💔💔💔

That is horrific! I can't imagine witnessing and living thru something like what happened in New Orleans. I was there about 6 months after it happened, and was shocked at how bad everything still looked in so many areas. It made me cry over and over again. I don't think they were saying the tornados were worse than Katrina in every way, but that he is seeing things this time that he didn't hasn't ever seen before. Different storms will bring different damage, and different geographic locations plays a part too. I think both disasters were catastrophic, just each in their own way. Both have had devastating results, but Katrina was way worse on the death count. Buildings and homes can be rebuilt, but those that lost their lives are gone from this world forever. That's the biggest tragedy of it all, all the families ripped apart and forever changed by these events. I'm glad you are still here to share your story, that is incredibly sad about the children you babysat for though. To think of how many families lost multiple family members, entire families wiped out, I cry over these things. It makes me so sad. Especially when children lose their lives, that's the worst!

Heartbreaking, I hope they are able to save lives. rest in peace to the ones who passed and lost someone that night

There are so many things/events/tragedies we can't imagine. But I know one thing: we are here for each other. No matter what. We raise each other up, and grieve with each other. I send prayers, love and light to all affected by these tornadoes. Many blessings 🙏🏼.

Reminds me of the guy from my home town in New Orleans who was looking for his wife during hurricane Katrina. May God comfort you all and I pray he finds his wife.

It was SO windy driving through Illinois and Missouri last night/early morning and now I know why. I drive a big rig and the wind was blowing the truck really bad, so scary. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected 🙏🏽

I live just west from where the twin tornadoes in Arkansas hit and fortunately our community is safe. Prayers for Craighead County Arkansas.

Oh my Lord, help them all. I literally drove to mayfield last night for work and It was pitch black and only saw the dozens of firefighters and police moving everywhere in pitch black.

this is so unreal, I can't imagine spending my final hours filling orders for a mega corporation surrounded by tornado warnings and not with my family in a shelter.

Same. I used to work at a popeyes in Ohio, One night we had a tornado warning and I asked where to seek shelter. I was told to keep working and ignore the sirens. I wouldnt be suprised if they were told the same, if they even knew.

I’m living in Missouri right now. Haven’t had a tornado near us in probably two years until we had three touch down last night. Wild

Unbelievable destruction. May everyone reach out and help those suffering from these worlwide disasters. So much love, time, energy and money needed to clean up these unforseen tragedies.

This is so sad. People donate to the areas hit by the tornadoes more is needed than just thoughts and prayers.

Its going to be a higher death toll. As a trucker we had to pull over and being fully loaded with a 80,000 lb machine we can tell you that this storm was no joke.

Crazy i passed thru Paducah i-24 few days ago and now just east mayfield is destroyed. Rip all those innocent souls. Nothing more horrifying than being in a place where you feel safe at night having strong invisible death storm hurling you're way. Total helplessness I'm so sad for the victims and everyone affected.
