Thank you!! Single mom of 3 over here. I know it's less than $40, but you just saved me a tank of gas to replace something I've had, like you, right at 2 months. I'm not the most handy person, but by golly I'm beginning to be, lol. I clicked on so many videos about this, but yours was the only one that didn't stop at assuming we're to dumb to know when to replace batteries, lol. It took more than a few taps and wiggling wires, but I figured I couldn't make it work any less. And now I've got a working mop again!! Even if I now hate it with a passion for being so cheaply made😂 Thank you for such clear and easy to follow along instructions.

How long did that help for? I feel it's a very temporary fix. Maybe long enough to buy a replacement? Definitely get the warranty on these. Thank you for the comment!

Thanks for your video! My less than 1 year old Swiffer quit working. As a 73 YO female who has more time than money, I thought I'd give it a try. I disassembled it as you explained, and seeing no obvious problems, gave the motor a few whacks. Nothing. Gave it a few more from different angles, and got a slight whirling sound, then nothing. More whacks, more brief whirls. Finally, I sprayed a couple shots of WD40, gave it another couple whacks, and voila! It worked! I don't expect much from this cheap POS, but, for now, it's working. So, thank you for encouraging me by your video!

Oh my gosh, if there’s one thing that’s great about KZread and Internet and all that is these videos. It worked! Unfortunately, mine was so rusted but it’s not super old. Sprayed it with WD-40. Knocked off a little bit of rust. Tapped the motor with like you said and it worked. I can at least get my floor mopped before I have to get another one. Thank you so much.

After checking the batteries, the switch, and verifying with a multimeter that the motor contacts were receiving 3.22V whenever the switch was depressed, I’d all but given up on repairing this POS. Lo and behold, the third or fourth 2:49 walloping from my screwdriver handle, and the patient was revived! 😂 Thanks for the housing disassembly tips.

I have the same newer motor that's missing the slot the older ones had. On the bottom of this motor there are two slots where I was able to get some deoxit in there. After spraying, I knocked on the motor till it turned using the switch on the handle. I waited a second or two and sprayed again. Motor runs great now!

mine stopped pumping, would not come on. Some investigating found one of the 2 prongs that hold the cleaner solution bottle had poked a hole in the bottle and solution had everything drenched in cleaning liquid . let it dry out and filed down the prongs, because they continued to punch holes in 3 more bottles. Emailed the Proctor&Gamble explained the issue and they mailed me a $30.00 coupon.

Tapping on the motor with my scraper didn't get it done. It finally rose from the dead when I had the multimeter touching the motor contacts to see if it was getting juice, which, apparently, it was.
