@@friendlyreaper9012 Is it just me or did the hivemind also get kinda botched? I don't remember hearing any of its iconic roars or its booming orchestra theme. It was a really good remake but there's some things they weirdly messed up. The hunter and hivemind being the main things, which is kind of a gut punch.

Is it me or does this music feel like it catches classic horror movie soundtracks very well?

I remember that moment when I first encountered the Hunter. I don't know if it was intentional or a bug, but even after running away from the initial chamber and getting near the Store/Suit Kiosk, I could hear the thing screaming and punching around inside the vents. It really kept me on my toes - I always try not to panic when fighting this guy.

Yeah, it is intentional. It was made to let you know that Hunter is ALWAYS near you... It can get out from any vent, any wall, even when you think you're safe, shopping items... Pure paranoia and fear. Of being prey. I loved that moment too. :)

@@lucasfraczek4320 Unfortunately, the theme stops playing once you get out of the initial chamber, iirc (or maybe until the gravity is restored in the second chamber). It was just the clawing, groaning sounds, and the awful 'footsteps' which this guy makes, when walking around in the vents. It was near the save station and the suit kiosk, with the room having a broken ceiling. Made you think the whole time that the ceiling was going to collapse eventually!

I love how I gets louder and more devastating the closer the Hunter looms to you to the point even the game is trying to warn you to get away

Stage 1: Looking out your window at night because your dog is growling and alerting Stage 2: Looking out your window at night and your dog is cowering under the table with his fur raised Stage 3: Looking out of your door at night because you heard your dog yelp in the darkness of the tree line and now he’s not returning when you call him Stage 4: An 8 foot tall pale humanoid figure is sprinting toward you from the treeline as it mimics a little girl’s voice saying “Daddy help! Daddy!!”

Only enemy in dead space that can scare the life outta me and make me terrified of it coming close to me

Even though I loved the remake, the old med bay was so much scarier. I don't know if It's because I already knew everything that would happen since I played the original. The first hunter encounter was also a letdown.

the absolute genius of this game to take away the one strategy that makes you feel secure. cut off its limbs but that only slows it down.

My heart used to race like crazy hearing this

"Cut it down! It's pontless to kill it! Grab anything to cut its limbs and run!"

I gotta say, even though it was unable to survive a blast from rocket thrusters, Chalus Mercer, for the most part, made the perfect killing machine. I'll definitely give him that. Yeesh! 0__0

He’s such a chad that’s why, all the other necros Run or sprint at you, screaming what’s left of their lungs out. But The hunter just walks to you knowing he is gonna catch up anyways, doesn’t even scream just growls with his deep chad voice. The mf also has the audacity to sharpen his blades in battle.

The first 3 stages are epic as well

The hunter is mechanically not that difficult to deal with even on impossible. The main difficulty with him is how panic inducing he is specifically in the original with this music. I remember one part where I had a plan figured out going in to fight him and immediately once I was in the room with him I kept clicking the kinesis button when I was trying to reload and ran away. He would basically make me forget how to play by being too scary.

Dead By Daylight: Dead Space Imagine that, humans vs the Hunter from Dead Space, and the different parts of the music determines how close the Hunter is

Omg : this music would go well with The Bully (the beta version of the regenerator necromorph from DS2).

That is actually a very good idea, except the Hunter really wouldn't suit as a traditional DBD killer.

When you tell your gf that you were working and she catches you in your room playing Dead Space.

yes, scarier and tougher, like a lot. original one have easy countermeasures. 1st) Never lose sight of it. 2nd) Stasis his regeneration. 3rd) Reset him due to power node door.

The hunter probably won't behave like the original, but as far as I know the hunter may be in limited areas. Also, the enemies are much stronger because they won't stagger. Why they made this change, I don't know why

I can say with 100% certainty that the hunter is still scripted and only spawns during specific story segments. Sadly he doesn't roam around the ship looking for you

I like a much more extensive Hunter story in Remake but the look and soundtrack are much better in the OG.

OG Hunter>>>>Remake Hunter. I think that OG Hunter is scarier than the remake one imo. Between the roaring sounds he makes (they were loud and unique for OG hunter, while remake hunter just sounds like your rather generic slasher), his theme (remake hunter doesn't even have a theme to my knowledge, standard necro battle music just plays when you fight him), OG hunter would sometimes stop in place to sharpen his claws (to my knowledge remake hunter doesn’t do this), his loud footstep sounds (This made OG hunter rather intimidating when he's charging at you. Remake hunter lacks these loud footstep sounds), his glowing yellow eyes (remake hunter just has standard slasher eyes now), and the loud roaring and footstep noises OG hunter did when you first encountered him (the ones that echoed throughout the medical bay when he was first released, I can't believe that they didn't bring back this tension for the remake hunter).

Yeah I completely agree, they removed his theme song, his glowing eyes, his fast movement, his unique sounds and roars. The only thing they really kept was his death animations. This kinda sucks cus I was really hoping that the Hunter would become a much more threatening enemy in the Remake akin to how RE2 Remake handled Mr.X or how RE3 Remake handled Nemesis but the only thing that makes him threatening now is the fact that he can show up anywhere. Funny enough, I actually got into an argument with someone over how the remake wouldn't change the Hunter into something worse, now I'm starting to see that the person I argued with was right about the Hunter being kinda downgraded.

Closer to the Hunter - more layers of music start to play. Awesome effect, I think. DS1 has many such multy-layer music tracks.

My guess is that the torso has a storage for super dense organic matter. Imagine a diamond made from a million people, and it can just dissolve more matter from that and turn it to limbs etc. Then the "diamond" stores all the bodies it eats

There is a video about in on roanoke gaming's channel. Basically, the cells are put into a forced mitosis state by the marker when the necromorph tissue is inserted into the brain.

I was literally scared to walk anywhere when this was playing. Scariest motherfucker ever xD

annoying yes annoying yes giving a fear and more than anything despair for that thing stop chasing for 2 minutes later then take it and in a puzzle and don't have stasis someone without feelings would say that it is annoying but for us it seems cool and very intimidating play dead space and as soon as you listen to its main soundtrack, run, just run, fight against it is impossible and it will only stop when you die or are infected and are a necromorph, but by the way, about the puzzle, while this is not a joke, I repeat, it is not a joke, you have to move bedrooms to get to the end and no it's not a big place it's very very narrow and the only way to pass the puzzle without using up all your stasis is to bug it or put the beds in front of it and hopefully you won't think of going on the free side even if you pass it

Do you encounter him at the begining of the game before getting the plasma cutter?
