They even putted out a survey so we the community can voice our opinion abt certain game franchises and things like that.I can’t guarantee that everything on that survey will be taken into consideration but they at least are interested in us and “our voice” so that’s another big plus from me

Yeah, I'm very hesitant until I see some gameplay and until I hear that TJ is okay with this.

My stance is that there’s a very real chance Gone Guru will not return in this game which means there is a very real chance that I won’t buy the game.

I can forgive them changing the voices as long as this isn’t a 1 to 1 remake. If it’s the same exact game that just looks better then not having the OG voices the game will be inferior. I really hope they don’t mess this up because this is my favorite game of all time

I truly wish Capcom handled ALL their series revivals like how they handled DMC5 "Divisive game that basically killed the series? Well, what was the last game the fanbase really liked as a whole? We'll just continue off from there like nothing happened!" I think Dead Rising is different because 1 is the only game Capcom actually made so that's probably why they approached this differently. Capcom Vancouver was basically the company Keiji was meant to be guiding and since he dipped out've capcom soon after 2 it really resulted in Capcom knowing less and less about the sequels beyond "This is not dead rising..." So honestly I don't see them remaking any other games except maybe 2 since enough people like it to possibly warrant it. DR3 is simultaneously divisive and, likely in capcom's eyes, straying too far from the core dead rising game design for them to consider the similar remake treatment. And 4? Yeah that's dead and buried regardless of what happens at this point. So yeah, no, a remake of DR1 makes sense if I'm looking at it from the POV of someone at Capcom. I don't think they COULD have just made a sequel unless they pulled a Halloween 2018 and just said "It's only a sequel to the first one." Or *maybe* an H20 route where "It's only a sequel to the first 2 that didn't make any drastic changes to the series."

EDIT: The reason I and others are calling this a remake despite the title using the term "Remaster" is because it appears to be made from the ground up visually. EDIT 2: I agree with everyone it's quite possible this game is running on the new MT framework instead of the RE engine. However, the point I make afterward is a stronger justification for redoing the first game instead of a new title. Sorry for constantly peaking my microphone here. Had some bad IRL developments this week and this announcement caught me off guard, so I got this out quickly just to give my thoughts on it. Hoping to get back to making videos soon.

@@blackshadowxv15 Nope. Some remakes do that (final Fantasy 7), but I never find it a good idea. Unless the story was originally bad or had problems, there's no reason to change it. But bad stories don't tend to get remade, so it usually just muddies up a perfectly fine narrative.

Not a fan of the VA change. I just gave a bad feeling it's just the first sign of way worst to come

Capcom has always been inconsistent with the VAs, Dante has been pretty consistent with Reuben Langdon and Kyle Herbert with Ryu but Resident Evil games replace the VAs every other game

Frank has been consistent, not counting Dead Rising 4 which was simply because CV bled money and they didn't feel like having TJ do it given his union costs. BUT capcom themselves still had him 2 years later in RE2 Remake.

I just hope it's a full-on remaster like that new gen version of Saints Row 3. I really don't want it to get a remake treatment.

Knowing Capcom they will do a Nostalgic DLC for sure.

While I am excited for this, I am a bit worried as well, it's really a, "We'll have to see how this turns out" kinda thing. Another thing to note is that RE engine is also what the new Attorney collections, (I'e, the ones for Apollo Justice and Investigations) and Ghosts N' Goblins Resurrection were made on.

TJ's voice for Frank is so iconic, it's ridiculous they're not recasting him. I have a bad feeling about this game...we all know certain aspect's are going to censored or outright removed. Female dick biting zombies, erotic photos & jessica will be censored.

The voice change is disappointing, and I think it’s fair to be upset because the original VA is not returning, but I think it’s also rediculous to not wanting to play the game over a different voice actor. I want to believe that unless there’s information that T.J is treated harshly, we should give the new VA a chance.

Exactly. Plus I will take anything to have Dead Rising back. As long as we don't repeat what happened with 4. I am all ears... Lets wait and see more until we fully judge this game for what this could be. It could either soar or suck. We don't know yet. I'm placing bets on it being a win based on Capcom's track record.

The thing is that changing the voice actor for a remaster is a big redflag. It implies bigger, and overall unnecessary, changes to the game that we don't know yet, so it makes sense that people are worried.

Rather than the VA, Is More on Capcom's side. At least they shouldve picked someone that sounded closer to TJ. For example i hated the New VAs for Kyo and Iori in KOF XIV but they improved their craft on XV, not as great as the old ones but they are good and at least sound similar to the old VAs.

You definitely made alot of good points, because I've been waiting for a remaster or remake for this game, played it 3 times in a row to get everything and actually appreciate the work amd detail of this game i just hope they keep this level into the remake because if not then i dunno

New dead rising zombies in a Space station mall.

If it's slated for later this year, given how long AAA games take to make, it's probably well along into development. After all, there's no more than 6 months until the end of the year.

I get the fear of having someone else playing Frank, but come on, the performances in the Resident Evil Remakes are universally praised. (Except for RE4R) Where is that "they're weaker" argument coming from

So in fine, we'll see how capcom manages to do the formula with the RE engine, if it's good we should buy it en masse to say to capcom that its a good opportunity to make a new one

My biggest hope is that if this is successful, Capcom doesn't try and remake the rest of the series. My big issue with recent RE titles is that a majority of them are just remakes, and imo Capcom's newest non-REmake titles haven't been that good (7 doesn't have high replayability and Village just isn't that good imo). RE has been Capcom's only active horror IP ever since DR went under with 4, so I'm hoping that if successful, it can lead to new and original DR games.

3:57 Another detail I’d add is drivable vehicles/transport. I don’t think there’s a game on the RE engine that has had completely drivable vehicles (I almost excused MH:World & Rise but mounts are kinda different) let alone smaller forms of transport like skateboards/bikes, etc.

Jul 1st 3PM PT. we will see what happens. Although I'm optimistic at least this franchise is not dead and gutted.

i had the same thought about the engine. i figured they’re doing this to be like “hey yall still like dead rising?” if this does well i’d have no doubt they’d make a dr2 remake w the RE engine and essentially give it the whole RE remake they’ve been doing

It wont be the same game because they would have to get licenses for most songs back, notably gone guru or hostile groove (fly routine and on mission), so they would slap in some generic music instead of this, which means instead the famous wellll we would got some random combat music. Also after all the controversial stuff being pulled out in RE4 remake, I dont expect Jo or Cliff to appear at all, even Cletus cutscene where he shoots the guy might be altered in some way, same when you defeat Adam the Clown. Game was highly controversial back in 2006 due to this stuff, I dont think most "gamers" if you can call them that way, will handle this raw experience.

While it's not a deal breaker you always gotta love how companies can never just, y'know, not fuck with it in some way. Not getting TJ back is one of those "Why?" decisions that was always gonna irk people and not get this off on the best foot. BUT beyond that, I just hope it overall does what the Dead Space remake achieved and enhances all the best parts of the original while fixing up any of the rougher aspects.

The problem is this is running on their old engine, MT framework, not RE engine

It’s a very valid thing to speculate. 18 years is a long time, even if it was the original team. I hope this remake/ remaster passes the test.

My idea for a new dead rising game could be where you play as Carlito or however you spell his name and the location could be set in Santa cabaza (I don’t think I spelled that right either but you hopefully know what I’m talking to say)

Yes it's spelled Carlito. And it's Santa Cabeza. Also no offense but prequel games don't add much, and anytime I hear this idea being pitched basically anywhere it always comes off as far less interesting than many make it out to be. We already know how Santa Cabeza incident goes, barring the DR3 retcons with the orphan which this remake could totally toss out. There really is nothing to gain from going over that whole scenario.

As for thr voice thing, it is still too soon, but it does make Fran sound older than he actually is (he is 36 in DR1) and the way his hair looks also doesnt help. Still a better voice than DR4. Maybe his og voice simply decided not to return, due to age or anything. Of course the voice could have been a ome time thing for the teaser. Anyway, it is as you say, dependong how well this game goes, we might get DR2 as well, but it is going to be a hard challenge to do, as you pointed out with all the things they need to work on. But we'll see, us DR are going to get this game that's for sure

Getting mixed messages from fans but I personally believe it's more likely capcom didn't approach him for whatever reason. Kinda hoping he still ends up being the one to play frank in the final game, if enough people make it clear that's what they want who knows maybe? I don't think there's any reason not to just make it clear most people would appreciate it being TJ to play him again not a different person.

I'm reserving judgement until more of the game is shown. I waited years for Dead Rising to make a comeback and I'll take anything for it to make its return. And of what I seen I am already impressed. As long as we don't relive the memories of how 4 turned out. We will have to wait and see whether or not this will soar or suck. Also, we need that Survivor AI fixed daddy

​​​@@TheLastArcadeSamuraicapcom Vancouver originally did not get TJ back because of union costs But Capcom themselves have had TJ show up to play frank at basically every opportunity, and even had him play Birkin in the RE2 remake so tbh no this is one of those exceptions where yes a recast is weird especially BECAUSE that was one of the biggest complaints with Dead Rising 4. Also, frankly, unless this game changes up the storyline in any noteworthy way or adds a ton of new stuff to the narrative I don't see any reason they couldn't have just reused the dialogue from the original game given how this already seems like it's gonna be pretty close to the original. It's at best a needless change and at worse one that will make it harder to get into for many players.

what they did was move the game from one engine to another which is now the RE engine. So it's not really a remake but an in-between of remaster and remake. because it's essentially the same game.

If Ai is the same and they dont improve it im skipping it unless its supposed to be apart of the dead rising 1 experience

For your comment earlier in the video why not use rotolo it’s most likely cause he’s a union actor capcom as of now is against working with union actors cause then they would have to pay rotolo residuals for every port of the game and it adds up to them a cheaper alternative is to hire non union meaning they get no residuals and no extra pay for future ports. Which really sucks that capcom has that mindset it’s gonna bite them eventually

To be honest I do need to see more of the game before I come to any concrete opinion but from what they’ve shown so far the remake looks alright, really the only knock I personally have is with the voice acting. I mean it’s certainly not bad but you really cannot top frank west original voice actor, but from what they’ve shown so far it looks alright. But again I will need to see more of the remake before I truly form any solid opinion on it.

And yeah, no doubt they’ll reduce Jessie’s awesome breasts. Because we can’t have nice things anymore. This remaster is an embarrassment and a cash grab as usual. I don’t understand how people are clapping their hands and keep asking for remasters… it’s so blatantly obvious that it would ruin any game, because that’s all they have been doing. @@nobodyshome4633The gone guru concerns are reasonable and I agree would negatively impact the boss fight due to it being so iconic and attached to the convicts. Why do the size of Jessies breasts matter? Seriously? It is not vital to the character at all and does not impact the games quality. Assuming all of these strong feelings towards the game based off of a 47 second trailer is kind of ridiculous, lets just wait and see on July 1st.

And as for Jessie’s breasts, it’s the simple fact that if they change them, which I have every reason to believe that they will, they will only change them because of limp-wristed current day censorship. There are multiple moments of cinematography that pan upwards in establishing shots of when Jessie is about to speak. It is clearly there to showcase and admire her natural attractive physique. It’s a nice contrast between the natural beauty of a Woman among the dark and terrifying nightmare of what is happening in Willamette. Also, it is very comforting on the eyes, especially for Men… and I say this as a guy who is attracted to other guys. It matters because that is how the game developers designed Jessie’s character model in the original classic amazing game. Just like how they originally designed Frank’s character model for the game, which has been completely ruined in this new pathetic “remaster”. Any changes completely messes up the uniqueness of the original game. This whole thing is completely stupid and cringey and unnecessary. They keep “remastering” classic games and messing up everything that made them great in the first place… all for what?? for shiny unnatural surfaces and ugly character models and censored content… is this really what you people have been repeatedly asking for?

@@nobodyshome4633 So far, Frank West’s redesign is faithful to the developers vision, he was always purposefully supposed to be seen as an “average joe” and not exactly attractive, even Jessie mentions it when Frank tries telling her about Isabella and his encounter at the supermarket. Also to get this upset over a 47 second trailer is a bit overreactive. This isn’t exactly a traditional remaster from the looks of it, if anything looks more like a remake. Where is dead rising 5 while capcom making a remake of dead rising is that it capcom is done with dead rising only up to 4 just like Dino Chris went up to 4 also on the original Xbox the only games I see still alive are resident evil street fighter from the 1990’s on PSX
