Lyrics
Your sweet nature, darling
Was too hard to swallow
I've got the solution
I'm leaving tomorrow
And now as I stand
And stare into your eyes
I see safety there
I want surprises
What I really need to do
Is find myself a brand new lover
Somebody with eyes for me
Who doesn't notice all the others
What I really need to do
Is find a brand new lover
When you wake up tomorrow
You'll be all alone
All the love that we had
I have quickly outgrown
I wanted to stay, but I just couldn't do it
Couldn't stand there and put you through it
What I really need to do
Is find myself a brand new lover
Somebody with eyes for me
Who doesn't notice all the others
What I really need to do
Is find myself a brand new lover
Somebody with eyes for me
Who doesn't notice all the others
My other loves will tell you that
I'm nothing but a pleasure-seeker
And for once I really must agree
I need to leave you by yourself
And go in search of someone else
To satisfy my curiosity
Your sweet nature, darling
Was too hard to swallow
I've made my decision
I'm leaving tomorrow
What I really need to do
Is find myself a brand new lover
Somebody with eyes for me
Who doesn't notice all the others
What I really need to do
Is find a brand new lover
What I really need to do
Is find myself a brand new lover
Somebody with eyes for me
Who doesn't notice all the others
What I really need to do
Is find myself a brand new lover
Somebody with eyes for me
Who doesn't notice all the others
What I really need to do
Is find myself a brand new lover
Somebody with eyes for me
Who doesn't notice all the others
What I really need to do
Is find a brand new lover

Because when we try to be individuals Today everyone calls you gay/faggot and says to get a life. Back then people weren't afraid to do what they wanted to do and be who they wanted to be... now everyone minds everyone Elses lives instead of their own and chastises whatever they don't personally like. Everyone's brought up and conditioned to think certain ways and bashes everyone who lives differently than how they were brainwashed to think. it's a sad world we live in today

Dead or Alive was one of the few bands that actually make pop music cool. Tragic how things ended for Pete but he left a mark on this genre, that in my opinion, solidifies this band as perhaps the greatest pop band to ever exist. There will never be anything that compares.

Although it's now considered pop, this wasn't really the case at the time. This type of music was categorized as "hardcore" if memory serves me correctly... High energy dance tracks, outside of what was considered pop/new-wave at the time. Still fun nonetheless

Should have been Dead or Alive's second #1 single. I understand that this song's lower chart placing had something to do with Epic records not being able to meet the demand for single purchases until after the song's momentum had peaked. I'd never say "You Spin Me Round" is a bad song, but this is so much better.

I'll say this I was a big fan of his as well and this is one of the songs as well as several other hits the head put out with this group called dead or alive but to answer your question 2 why did he mess with his face it's called getting older that's what it is maybe he didn't like the way he looked horses because he's getting no we are all can order they all depends upon how well you take care of yourself and you don't do drugs and don't get caught up in that mess that was happening back in the 80s.

My favorite DoA song of all time and one of the most delicious, delightful songs of the 80s--the melody is so joyous even though the lyrics deal with the difficulty of gathering the courage to exit an unsatisfying relationship. There's actually quite a bit of lyrical depth which gets overlooked because of the extraordinarily catchy tune. That fizzy disconnect is certainly part of the song's brilliance. I have always adored the line "I Want Surprises," which is just sort of tossed off at the beginning of the song, but is entirely indelible. At least a few times each month I find myself singing that line, out of the blue. It just really resonates for me and presents itself over and over in my consciousness. I think part of the brilliance of the song too is that it really encapsulates Pete's personality as someone who was never content with maintaining the status quo--he was most assuredly someone who wanted surprises!
