It’s 2022 and the melee combat in this game looks so good still

tried this and its perfectly working!! at 1st kinda blurred about the instructions but when experimenting the Data folder, i managed to understand it. so far only got the 2 swords,currently finding the third 1..superb coding btw

DAMN! Those are brutal! Taking a thug out with one swipe? WOW! I love the stab attack! I want these!

Xian has the jump attack skill, you may knew it, but the result i achieved at 6:39 was the combination of that skill with that modded sword. That modded katana-based weapon i made is not only sharp but also have heavy effect like the sledgehammer, so it can cut zombies' parts but also can behave as a sledgehammer combined with Tesla mod = send the zombies far way when hit.

how or where did you find those swords? and how did they look destroyed but was that news? that is, I do not see a white bar and when that bar is missing the weapon must be repaired

@shineforce And Since we can make non-degradable weapons, that means we can make the Jason chainsaw non-degradable or leave it degradable but we can make it repairable or even upgradable.. Everything is possible :)

@killshotreviews You can check the mod download link in video description, i explained step by step in a guide file, it's the full mod, ready to be installed into game directory and feel free to modify for your own purpose.

@shineforce I have no idea how to mod this game on PS3 version, but in PC version, it's very clear and easy. For example, the guns are non-degradable so i just have to find the exact property in data file that decide guns = non-degrade then i use it for my new melee weapons (it's just a little bit more complex that i also have to make them to behave the same when they are upgraded to the next 3 levels).

@DrMatthewXavier Hard to explain in just 500 characters KZread gives us for each comment. There is no mod tools for this game at the moment so all the mods are often made by manually editing the Data files in the game with notepad: Extract Data0.pak and Data1.pak in DI folder inside game directory, you will have a lot of files that can be edit with notepad. In order to manage what you intend to change in the game, you will need to read guide on a few forums about modding Dead Island

@iDMFMi As I mentioned in the video description, these weapons are not Dead island official weapons. They are inserted into the game by modding game's data files. This video is intended to show that we can change some aspects, add some funny stuffs and bring new experience into the game that we are really into it.

using the mod, the weapons should be found in the first level (beach) and in sewer (in the city). Howerver in order to loot them easily in all the toolbox loots, you'll need to change the act1a.loot file inside Data\Maps\act1a folder , simply back up that file for later use, edit the file, delete all but the first 3 weapon items in the sub WeaponsToolBoxAct1A section of the file. That'll make all the loots in map 1 only spawn the 3 swords in the clip.

I have one of those. An Unbreakable Deathstalker Zed's Demise Lvl 60, it's with my Xian Mei (Xbox 360 only).

Is it possible that these items can be the same with other items like the stats are based on your level. Basically is it possible for these items to scale with your level?

I had a Lv60 Zed katana with Dps of 2834 in Xbox 360.

What level are you? And did you hack to hit this fast?

@RapidWarfare1 It's a shame that these custom weapons are not officially created in the game no matter which patch version you have because they were created by me, at my own risk. So they are just intended to be used in single play mode, not compatible with the coop mode. If you have put so much time into this game but there are still some Legendary weapons that you haven't found yet, i can help you with a very easy way to find rare weapons.BTW sorry for my bad English

@@SABSCORPION I don't remember exactly. I haven't played dead island in 3 years. But I am almost certain that the weapons in the video are not mods. They are weapons that you find or unlock by exploring and completing missions. Like the tools to modify them as shown in the video.
