Dead End - A Virtual Production Short Film starring Qi Yuwu and Andrew Lua

Фильм және анимация

'Dead End' is a post-apocalyptic thriller directed by Joel Lim, starring Qi Yuwu and Andrew Lua. Produced by X3D Studio, the largest virtual production studio in Southeast Asia, in association with Refinery Media and with support from IMDA, this short film takes you on a journey through a ruined Singapore like you’ve never seen before.
This gripping short film shot entirely in two days using cutting-edge in-camera visual effects (ICVFX) technology. The story follows two strangers stranded in a remote canyon after their car breaks down in a vast, desolate desert. Featuring a car as the central prop and utilising a seamless blend of photorealistic virtual environments, including a canyon and desert, and practical on-set elements, 'Dead End' creates an intense, immersive narrative of survival and unexpected encounters. The efficient use of ICVFX allowed for a rapid production schedule while delivering visually stunning and emotionally compelling storytelling.

This is really well done. It definitely holds the tension. Loved the VFX. (There is a strange rendering artifact on two of the buildings at 4:26.)

I agree. Also because BTS (behind the scenes) can help advertise the studio services.
