This is a terrific story of the beginning of the zombie apocalypse from the point of view of workers in an upscale sky scraper. What I thought was a particularly great plot point is that when the story starts we focus on a small group of people working in one office. They are facing what would be considered a catastrophe at any other time-----the sudden nonappearance of half a million dollars of the company's money. Think about it: this would normally be the worst thing that these people could think of, it would cause a scandal, an investigation, they would lose their jobs, maybe be blackballed in the business or even face criminal charges. But today---today, all of that means nothing. Money---in any amount----will soon be the very least of their troubles. Because the night before the zombie plague hit the city and is rapidly spreading. At the beginning of the story, our protagonists do not know this. They have worked all night, looking for the money, with no communication with the outside world. So they do not yet know that life, as they knew it, has come to an end. One thing I noticed about the original group that probably says a lot about them. When they realize crap is going down, not one of them calls a loved one. No frantic calls to a parent, spouse, sibling, child, grandparent, or even a friend, to try to see if they are ok. Which means to me that these people have no one that they care for, except themselves, and that no one cares for them. I cannot imagine a worse place to trapped by the zombie apocalypse than a high rise office building. They could not even get out of the building without running a gauntlet of monsters.

Thank you so much! And yeah, being stuck in a high rise would be the worst fate. the lack of food is bad enough, but imagine a fire breaking out on a lower level. no chance of escape, and nobody coming to fight it

yeah it's that good ole Catch-22, the story would sound better with a human, but with a human (and the costs/time involved) there wouldn't be a story. I'm hoping that it's not too much longer before the AI voices catches up with my productivity, haha

Not too important, but I figured I'd mention that the decapitated zombie wouldn't have been able to move its jaw, since it was decapitated and probably something about muscle or tissue.
