Loved that story, the language barrier can be real. It is cool seeing the early days responses and figuring out, I just hope we get some more of these weds characters even if they just come across/get discovered In the main arc because several had a lot of potential IMO, like the woodsman Also I didn't realize it was weds when I tagged you in the first story but it was a new reader asking about the story order so I gave her the answer you gave me at the start and found her a chronological list as requested, just want to help bro! Thanks for the great stories and hope the move is settling down!

Yeah it can be. I traveled extensively for my photography job over the last decade, staying in motels like this, and pretty much at all of them there was a language barrier at breakfast and in the halls. Guys were almost always friendly, even sharing beers on occasion, but if there was anything other than a fire, I wouldn't have been able to explain any emergency. And some of these characters will be popping up again down the line (only one confirmed at the moment is Gideon, the Ninja Dominator Action Star), but more will be showing up. And just finished a story yesterday that has some of the soldiers from The Raid in it. And I appreciate you helping the new listener find the chronological list. I had to drive a couple hours away for a photo-shoot today, so just now catching up on stuff.

Love these short but filling stories really adds to your Saturday stories as always thank you for your amazing work

I understand that completely, but the AI voice is getting better. hopefully by the summer we won't be able to tell much of a difference.

This series is fantastic! The writing and plotting are really great. Actually I would expect the military to be the ones most likely to survive in such chaos. Soldiers have the benefit of discipline and a clear chain of command. They are a lot more likely to respond quickly and efficiently in an escalating emergency. That alone puts them several steps ahead of the average person.

I've been waiting! You don't disappoint!

LOVE THESE BOOKS. The stand-alone 1's & the series. All add to the whole epic story. Just 1 complaint -please forgive me- right at the end, the narrator -(i know it's an AI (i've come to terms with that)- but sometimes his pronunciation is maddening. He says 'leept instead of leapt-(i've spelt it as he pronounces it.) Sorry, but it really bugged me, for as long as it has taken me to right this. I'm over it now. Great story though.

My Dear God! TALK TO A COMBAT VET! this is how high school works NOT the military! Officers don’t do squat, besides butter bars it’s exclusively NCO’s & the smart BB’s listen to their subordinates, tho the last 3 years it has fallen near this horrific it’s not quite this bad, yet

I got out in 2013 and I just had one of my buddies retire from the military 4 years early because he's not what they're looking for in a leader because when we joined the Marines they were looking for Rough and Tumble people now they don't want people who are quick to yell or scream at you and they don't want people who get upset or actually discipline their subordinates. A bunch of my buddies are getting out including officers because they feel like it's becoming a soft military which is never good

I just have to ask...Why so much strife between the military and civilians? This a re-occurring theme now for the last bunch of books, and I'm just curious as to why? If it was an actual civil war then yes, there is definitely going to be some major strife between well-armed and trained free state civilian militias for sure, unfortunately 😔😔 But a zombie apocalypse? I feel it would be more along the lines of Dawn of the Dead ( but obviously with a much quicker SHTF time-frame, lol) with civilian militias cooperating and working in conjunction with the military on combat ops, and acting as scouts and guides for the military when operating in unfamiliar territory. I just can't see average Americans just up and attack the military simply because they're in their town, especially during a zombie apocalypse, even as well-armed as they are. Just my 2 cents as an avid fan and supporter of your work!

So in this particular story it's just a lack of communication, as the workers have no idea what is going on outside of their friends being attacked. Overall in the series the strife is because the military basically abandoned their posts and retreated to Kansas (or out to sea), so civilians were left on their own, so they aren't thrilled when the military comes rolling back in. But with the Kansas series (the Saturday stories) its a combination of there being some bad eggs causing trouble because they don't care about civilian lives, and then because they just want to lord over them. There are plotlines where civilians get along with the military though, so it's not a blanket policy.

I like to think PVT Sanchez(the other soldier from your story Fort hood) is there at that high school base with the hundreds of soldiers after he escaped texas since is set in kansas.

He very well could be! Most of the soldiers, if they survive the early onslaught eventually make it to Kansas and then up to the Pacific Northwest.

I know the series is called Dead America but maybe a spin off series "Dead world" or something like that or is the zombie outbreak contained in America?

I do have some ideas for stories around the world, but there's a long list of stories in the US to get to. The next non-main series setting is going to be the big cities like NYC and Chicago.

We already saw the bombing of Austin but maybe we'll see nukes in use in this series unless it's already been used, I haven't gotten through the whole series yet

The most unbelievable part of the story is the way military guys act. It shows the author doesn't know much about "tough or manly" guy culture
