    You're gonna love that can lol, I have mine naked also. Just gonna give you some advise. The can will change color the more you shoot it because of the heat, which should be expected. It's gonna give a nice light bronze color lol but.. it will also stain stupid easy if you use anything to losses or tighten when hot. So make sure your fully tight before shooting and make sure to let it cool down before you use something to check it.

    Question on the Tri-lug MP5. Do you leave the thread cover on or take it off? I've heard conflicting opinions. Some say take it off because you don't want it coming off while shooting and destroying your Wolfman. Some say leave it on because if you take it off, the Wolfman will have some play/wobble. Your thoughts?

  • @CalebDowning

    @CalebDowning

    Жыл бұрын

    Great question Brent. I took the thread protector off. I just went out and tested it with the thread protector on and non of my tri-lugs(YHM, Dead Air, SilencerCo) would fit over the thread protector. I haven’t had any trouble with my cans being wobbly or having baffle strikes because of the lack of a thread protector. If you have a tri-lug and it does fit over your thread protector, then I’d suggest you simply loctite the thread protector on and not worry about it. I hope that answers your question 🤔

Just have to figure out what that thing you called an e brake is.

  • @CalebDowning

    @CalebDowning

    4 ай бұрын

    Hard to go wrong with this can 🤙 The Ebrake works as a diffuser/ brake on the end of your suppressor. It’s not really made for 9mm and you can easily get some front cap strikes if things aren’t perfectly aligned. But for 223 and 30 cal still I’d recommend getting one. It will take away a couple decibels and you should notice the can quiet the report down a little better.

    Hi, thx for the great video. Since you asked... I want to use the Wolfman primarily for my PCC which is a ptr 9kt 9mm. Do I need any additional parts to make the Wolfman work with it? From your video, I think it will screw right onto the gun? Secondly I'm going to buy a ptr 32 which is 762x39. Same question. Do I need to purchase any adapter for that to work? Is there a way to configure the suppressor to do quick disconnect / reconnect from both? Thank you for your help.

  • @CalebDowning

    @CalebDowning

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Jeff Thanks for taking the time to comment on the video 👍 If you want to configure your Wolfman to run on both those firearms then you may want to look into the KeyMicro adapter and mounts. It’s been a solid and quick mounting solution for me and it’ll handle the 9mm and 7.62x39 with ease. Just be sure to get a 9mm bore muzzle device for the 9KT. A 3Lug mount would be awesome for the 9KT but it’s not made to handle the 7.62x39. The Wolfman should come with a 1/2x28 direct thread so you should be able to simply direct thread to the 9KT.

    I’m looking at getting my first suppressor. Primary host 12.5” AR 5.56. But i have a bolt action 7.62x39. Future I might pick up a mp5 clone….. with that said the wolf man seems like a great choice to fit those roles. But for an AR. How is it mainly in terms of suppression, back pressure, flash? I’d prob run it in the short configuration with 556 end cap. Thanks

  • @CalebDowning

    @CalebDowning

    Жыл бұрын

    The Wolfman would definitely fill that roll. I was thinking that maybe the sandman or nomad series would be better but honestly you’ll de great with the Wolfman. Keep in mind that you’ll need short KeyMo mounts if you plan to run that system. The flash with a 5.56 front cap does a great job of knocking down the flash, back pressure is pretty good to be honest, and as you can hear in the video it does a pretty good job at suppressing the noise of the 5.56. The main thing I would take into consideration with this can is the fire schedule you intend to run. If you shoot a couple mags per range trip then your fine. But if you do multiple classes or 500+ rounds per day then you may want to step up to a heavier duty can like the Sandman.

    @winstonsmiths2449 I can totally understand the “analysis paralysis” feeling. My best advise is to evaluate what features you want in your can(size, weight, mounting options, flash reduction, back pressure…) and pick a can based on you needs. There is NO perfect can, they all do things a little differently. So don’t stress about getting one can that will cover all you bases even in one caliber. I have some short little K cans and they do well at knocking off some decibels and being lightweight, but if I want something really quiet then I’m going to have to go with a larger and generally, heavier can.

Question do y'all have to form 1 a silencer when u mod out a silencer that u didn't build but ur changing shit on it? Like if u buy a 30cal silencer and it is threaded for 308 5/8x??? It obviously won't work on a 556 unless u change it. How does that work legally?

  • @CalebDowning

    @CalebDowning

    Жыл бұрын

    I’m not a lawyer so take what I say with a grain of salt. Some cans are designated as a “pistol” can but are built tough enough to be able to handle some rifle calibers. You can shoot those other calibers through the pistol suppressor and be fine legally. You can usually change out mounts and be perfectly in the clear. Where you would run into issues would be if you did a permanent modification that altered the caliber of the suppressor itself or the permanent length of the suppressor. Maybe someone else can chime in and verify this info for you too.

Mines fully tucked and my handguard stays ice cold. I think the modularity scares some people off but that's not why I got it. I got it because it's simple direct thread and simple welded steel. I can try to tighten the end cap and know that the whole stack is tight and aligned. I wouldn't trust qd. That's a few mm of locking surface vs threading which is a few inches. It's longer and fatter than other offerings so while it is measurably better it also has a better tone. Sounds like a quiet thump instead of a quiet gunshot. If you want one can that does them all(minus 22lr) then I’d say just wait for the Primal to come back in stock. Now, I’ve gotta say this… I would caution against trying to get one suppressor to do “everything”. I did that for my first suppressor and it’s probably my least used suppressor now. I have found that it’s best to get more specific cans vs one general one. For the purposes you originally mentioned I’d recommend getting the Mask, Wolfman, and Ghost. If you are pressed and can really only get one then I’d still recommend the Primal. The Primal does a fantastic job at suppressing high pressure(308, 30-06, 45-70…) cartridges. It does a good job at suppressing the 45 too. But you’ve got to keep in mind the Primal is a 45 caliber rifle suppressor that can work on a pistol. The Ghost is a dedicated 45 caliber pistol suppressor. It can all get pretty complicated but ask yourself this question: What is the intended purpose of your suppressor? If you are trying to keep the cost down and get as few cans as possible and the expense of size/weight/sound-reduction then the Primal is probably what you’d looking for. But I’d you really want the best balance of size/weight/sound-reduction then getting 3 or so different cans will be better in the long run. Sorry if that’s information overload 🤯 if you want more clarification just ask away. Ya know, I may make a video on this very topic 🤔

    The tri-lug is going to have play in it. That’s one reason some folks don’t like it. For precision work tri-lugs aren’t that great. For close range stuff, like what most PCCs are made for, you shouldn’t really notice much any shift. One thing folks will do it make sure to orient your suppressor the day way every time you mount it and that way you lock onto the same lugs every time. That’s one way to help negate impact shifts l.

    I think I’ve chopped ally brakes by now. I don’t generally shoot the brakes without a can so I’m not getting much benefit with all three ports anyway. The can mounts off the back of the brake(the taper and locking area) not the front, so you aren’t going to ruin the brake if you chop off some ports. I hear ya on the 36M. I hadn’t been able to use on but that guy is on my radar. I will say though, if I ever do get a 36M I will probably put a key-mo adapter on it. Wolfman was my first suppressor I've since got the nomad L, mask and ghost. I think I'm going to get 2 more Wolfman so I can leave them on the ar9 357 handi rifle and 9x39 permanently.

    I’ve shot the Primal and it is definitely a solid can. The SolencerCo 38M seems to be a very close contender to the Wolfman, at least on paper.

    @@CalebDowning yes the 36m is the one that makes the most sense if I was going outside dead air plus it can do heavy caliber rifle if I needed. Did you use the primal on 458 socom or 45-70 ? The bowers 458 has me thinking it might be better with its 11 inch 1.75 diameter and the primal for my 45 long colt single shot &ar45

  • @CalebDowning

    @CalebDowning

    Agreed 👍 I went up to 45-70 with the primal and it did very well it seems to really shine when you start using higher pressure rounds like 308,30-06, and 45-70. I’m currently working on getting my 45 1911 up and running. Once it’s ready I’m gonna do a Primal video like my other Dead Air can reviews. At some point I readily do plan to get a 38M.

    Got mine after a 219 day wait. I was NOT willing to bid $500 on their stupid, always-out-of-stock DA444 trilug adaptors that they manufacture only during the blood moon, so I went a different route. Eccomachine (and other companies?) Make thread adaptors to take KVP and SiCo trilug mounts. I went SiCo for peace of mind. $150ish trilug mount all said and done. I reccomend anyone to check out the alternative trilug mounts. Only downside is that they might add a bit of overall length.
