Beautiful Irish young women have been a joy to watch grow up. They'll make it big soon and I can say I knew them when.

They are talented instrumentally and already have a great catalogue of their own songs, such a good foundation; so bodes well for the future

I saw them busking on a cold afternoon in Belfast and was struck but how incredibly talented they are. They're only going to go from strength to strength.

They're really good, and I really like them, but have you heard of Larkin Poe? Now that's one of the very best bands to come around in the last 20 years, and we mustn't forget Rival Sons.

@@audiophileman7047 In Dea Matrona's live stream wherein they were signing their most recent 12" single ("Glory, Glory I am Free") someone asked if they had heard Larkin Poe. While Mollie was answering, "Yes, we saw them recently and love them..." Orláith was producing a Larkin Poe pick from her pocket. If you're carrying a band's pick around with you I think that means you like them a lot! I get it; I've been following Larkin Poe for a while now, as I play a similar instrument to what Megan Lovell plays (i.e. non-Pedal Steel Guitar, though mine has 8 strings, legs, and is my 2nd instrument, 6-string Guitar being primary). They're talented & super-entertaining. There are several great young Guitar-oriented artists right now in the Blues/Rock vein who are leading a resurgence. Where the interview above took place, Austin TX, there's the amazing Jackie Venson (her playing is mind-bending). In the Midwest USA there's Samantha Fish, who will be at Clapton's Crossroads this year (she is also mentioned in the same Dea Matrona live stream as someone they appreciate). Here in Chicago, IL we're blessed to have the phenomenal Melody Angel, who recently was one of the main acts at the city's annual Blues fest (can't recommend her highly enough!). It's a great time for this kind of music!

@@scottschenke Oh, I'm fully aware that at least one of Dea Matrona's band members likes Larkin Poe. I was on a live stream with Rebecca & Megan when I saw a post from Orlaith. I talked to her a little and told her how I thought Dea Matrona was a great band. She thanked me. Dea Matrona is very wise to look to Larkin Poe for not just inspiration but also ideas. I'd throw in the Danielle Nicole Band, Carolyn Wonderland, and Sue Foley for female fronted bands as well. Are you familiar with Tab Benoit? He's been around for a while, but his version of Bayou Blues played on a '70's Fender Thinline Tele is truly something to behold, just excellent!

@@audiophileman7047 Great you had the opportunity to address Orláith directly. I've read some folks who have seen them live say that she seems to be the more outgoing one, more likely to stick around late & talk to fans, etc. She seems like a really kind person. There's just so much good music happening now; I don't have time for it all! I can barely keep up with all of the new stuff I'm stumbling upon. Only found Dea Matrona 2 weeks ago & after an exhaustive deep dive they're already atop my favorites list! (I do enjoy Tab Benoit, as a former wielder-of-Tele myself...)

That's Nothern Ireland still! Together with Mollie the band is excellent and can't wait to see them in England and how they evolve. I don't know the name of the male drummer (he's pretty good) and how long he's with them since Mamie, Mollie's sister, sadly left to further her education. Maybe she will return
