This episode is about my treatment approaches to finding pain relief while suffering from De Quervain's Syndrome. After a lot of treatment, modifications, rest, ice, medications, etc, I still have a fair amount of pain. Although this pain, is getting better daily, it is taking a lot longer than I expected despite the amount of rest and proper things I have done. As a result, I went to @CuttotheBone to get my hands looked at. Mostly to help with my pain but also to have some x-rays and information about my hands considering I work a lot with them. I did want to rule out any arthritic changes and document where my hands are currently. When all said and done, the injection did really help my hand but it's something you need to talk over with your doctor as I did in this episode.

Appreciate that. I am in the same boat as you are my left hand and I’ve got arthritis in my knuckles. I do mechanical work, so I am virtually one-handed right now was curious about the cortisol shot, I’ve definitely got DQST

The cortisone shot is an option but it did not help long term. What helped the most is getting some treatment on my forearms, and arms as well as using a brace
I got a steroid shot for the first time ever in my wrist today. I was surprised that the injection was not very painful. I was expecting an intense sting like pain. Instead it felt like a strong ache for a few seconds. Maybe the pain can depend on the skill of the person giving the injection. My orthopedic Surgeon gave me the injection. Barely any pain during the injection and 8 hours later I still don’t have any pain or swelling at the injection site. I would have had this done sooner but I founds tons of people online saying it hurt like hell.
Hi Doc! I've even had acupuncture. I think I like the feeling of it. I've also had the injection, & it really helped. I also have pain around my elbow & on the outside, as well.

Thanks for sharing! I had a lot of success with scraping and releasing parts of the Radial nerve! This took a lot longer than expected.

@@DrJoshJagoda Do you have advice for the neck & shoulders, bc of late, it's difficult to turn my head. If I do, there's a sharp, pulling kind of pain between my shoulder blade & spine

How long does it take to heal and how can i move back to lifting wieghts

It can take a while but you should be able to get some strength exercises back in there. Consider whole body exercises such as walking, swimming, running, lunges as well. This will help whole body health!
Hi Doc :) i just got my first injection today. After a year, how is your situation evolved? Could you solve this issue?

Yes I able to 100% recover. Most people do after about 3-4 months, which mine took about 3 months. I hope you found some relief. Also, consider having someone work on the arms (manual Work).

can you take the injection if you are breastfeeding?

Sorry to hear. I think having a good Doc who can take the time, and is great with injections will help make a difference. Do your research!
