@@FayeHadley helped with my gs300 but to be honest I ruined my cam position solenoid connector... hopefully next time I can get it right... one thing I added to the mix is after I crimped the metal connector on I added a dab of solder to the crimp to lock the wires to the metal crimped connector and that thing was SOLID... I would like to also add to those watching the video that this crimper is NOT your standard crimper it's a DOUBLE CRIMP TOOL.... peace
That was marvelous, I have to say. Do I have a crimping fetish? I have no idea but I really like doing things properly for the simple reason that I just want it to work and keep working. I'll be depinning a miserable little connector that has been intermittent from the beginning so this has been a nice, empowering nudge. Thank you!

Wow, I just did this on a VW 10 pin connector. I could not de-pin it with the de-pin keys kit, so I ended up cafrefullllllyyyyy removing each pin using a speed variable Dremel to cut the housing off. Took a very long time but got it done. Once off, I just pushed them back into the new 10 pin housing. Thanks for the video Faye.🙉🙊

Thank you Faye. Your videos are always so pleasant and helpful. I need to replace the connector for the low beam headlight on my daughter's 2005 Camry XLE and couldn't figure out how to de-pin the wires. Your explanation is just perfect. Wishing you a blessed day.
Before I was exclusively a Toyota guy, I had a 2007 Frontier. I had an engine fire and Nissan quoted me $1,500 to rewire the entire engine bay. The wiring harness alone was $950. I'm a special kinda stupid, so I decided to do it myself. I was really lucky because I found a local salvage yard with a wrecked Frontier with the wiring harness that I needed. It took me almost Two Days to install the harness and Two more Days of rechecking every wire, its connection, and pin. I had that Truck for another 200k miles with no electrical problems.
You and Dave (from Haltech) are my new favorite people on KZread, such quality content! Love the technical explanations and why's behind the do's or don'ts. Fixed a wiring harness for my car with this vid, and got some neat tips and tricks along the way. Thank you!

I come from an aerospace wiring background, I’m impressed with the quality of the crimps from your tool. Now for the mansplaning portion of the comment, if you can stagger the splices on the other side of your plug it will make the harness close down a little nicer. Keep up the hard work. My mind is blown 🤯 @ around the 1120 mark I've never known/understood what that part of the crimp tool was for and how to properly crimp those stupid female connectors used on all Toyota/Scion/Lexus cars! The soothing music and cute/likeable nerdy car chick is the way to go! P.s. I've broken so so many poor connectors and incorrectly sloppily crimped those things for the past 6-8 months! I look forward to redoing these now
I am very impressed!!!, dang it, I have been red necking wires all these years with needle nose plyers, paper clips, ground down picks, and screwdrivers. If I had known, there was an easier way I wouldn't have dreaded doing wiring. Thanks for the insight. I'm going to go get me some new tools.

Nice. I stepped up my 12v wiring game to redo the lights on my FJ. Got all the supplies to make and depin connectors, the proper TXL wire (in multiple fancy colors!) for wiring the switch plate, etc. I love this stuff. Being able to make your own connectors is so nice. For wire protection, I like the braided wire wrap which you secure at both ends with adhesive lined heat shrink. It does a good job and looks really professional. I saw your post about the store in San Antonio on insta so I know you've seen all this stuff but I'm just geeking out! 😁. I live in NH and might actually make a pilgrimage to that place the next time I'm in TX for work. Nowhere like that around me so I have to order everything.

Great video! I’m gearing up to tackle a flying lead type harness on my 2JZ swapped Tacoma. I was going to reuse a lot of the connectors from the factory harness but after a closer inspection I realized it was in rough shape with a lot of missing insulation and brittle connectors. I found Ballenger Motorsports online that sells connector kits, but no information on what kind of crimper was needed to crimp them. Glad I found this video though! Definitely going to pick up one of those crimpers you used!
The Factory Toyota service manual almost always shows the connector and the factory part number. If you find a broken connector but don't know what it goes to, they even have a page of connector pictures so you can match it up. Toyota has the best service manuals out of all the manufacturers.

Beautiful video 💯
Nice video, love it. One thing I have noticed when cars get of age, some connector terminals get loose mainly the female ones where they don't make good contact with male onces. I remember on my 1JZ-GTE Soarer when taking a hard right U-turn the car would stall. I wiggled a few connectors, finding the TPS sensor connector seemed to have bad contact. I used a sharpened piece of metal to a fine point to bend the female terminals inwards so they hugged the male terminal better, after this no problems. Wiggle test can reveal a lot.
Awesome Faye!!!👍☀️🌞😃⭐️
Aha I needed this. Got a tweaked harness made and my cps wiring is of course hammered. Didn't want a driftmotion pigtail. What I want to do is rebuild the guts of it to. It's been rumored back in the forum days about getting a dizzy from the same period and pulling the guts to rebuild the cps. I need to hang out at my parts store to confirm. But!! Thank you so much for the PNs!!
