Good video (as usual), finally downvoted a video on the channel due to ANOTHER Carly plug. My personal experience with Carly mirrors most of the 1 star TrustPilot reviews i.e. auto renewal without any reminders, auto renewal price that is much larger than the initial/original 12 month subscription and a big phuck off tablet from Carly 'Support' when you try to cancel after noticing £100+ unexpectedly disappear from your bank account. I understand that sponsors are a vital part of funding YT content creation but I really think the channel needs to start being more selective about the brands it recommends.

@@pauledmonds3249 It works for basic code reading/clearing ie the same tasks that a cheap OBD2 reader off Amazon can do but anything more than that is limited to a very small number of brands i.e. mainly BMWs.

@@chrislaws9244 Make sure you set a calendar reminder to contact them at least FIVE weeks before your 12 months is up, otherwise you'll find £100+ disappaearing from your bank account without any reminders that your subscription is due and zero interest in being reasonable when you contact them to query it!

You should check the gearboxes on all of Alex’s cars for metal filings. Because, as we know, Alex slips the clutch.

I have an N52 I6 variant here in Utah. Bought it for $3500 and am all in with repairs (did myself) for a little over $7k. Put some all terrain tires on it and it can keep up with Jeeps and 4Runners without much difficulty. Honestly, super underrated SUV and easily the best looking of the X5’s. Nice purchase man 🤙🏼

Those ZFs are pretty bulletproof. What it really needs is new solenoids, bridge seals and a sonnax zip kit. Will make it like new.

I’ve done 330k with a ZF6 and 380 with a ZF8. Then sold the cars, solid gearboxes. Weren’t high value cars so both done at 80k intervals and the were like new when I sold them.

Absolutely love the content of the lads dicking around on and fixing things up on the cars you have!

I parked near a dark blue E53 X5 in the supermarket parking lot the other day. I noticed the interior lights were lit, but no one was in the car. "It's probably broken," I thought, thinking of Alex, Taylor, and Rory. I could see the driver's door was slightly ajar, so I thought I'd push it closed for them. When I walked up to it, I realized the door handle was broken off and I had a really good chuckle. It looked like they parked with the door left open so they could get back in. 🤣 Oh trashed BMW life!

They changed to "lifetime" when BMW USA stopped doing transmission services as part of their service agreements - IE, they didn't want to do it for free anymore. ZF recommend servicing ;)

I’ve got an auto Vauxhall with a “lifetime gearbox oil” supply. Every transmission garage I’ve spoke to about changing it say not to, as it will most likely allow it start slipping?

ZF gearbox on the Beamer? That seal at the top of the filter seems to be common for getting stuck in those lol, have the same issue in Australia with BTR and ZF gearboxes in our Fords

ZF 8 speed on mine - fluid changes keep it working. Don't change? Blown by 100K.
