DAMN!!!!!!!!!! Ain't heard this since I seent the 12 inch original in my mans basement... Learning how to spin!
Been wanting to hear this since Prince Paul talked about it in What Had Happened Was. He’s right: This is dope but it drags a little. It’s still genius for some kids doing it all themselves.
Yooooooo!!!! 🤯🔥

Auditions are gathered but the Soul would just rather hold the count at FOUR and in the end leave it as it is. Who was the FOURTH?? Prince Paul was an official “member” of the group only for the Buhloone Mindstate masterpiece.

Before Prince Paul, De La Soul had a fourth member known as DJ Stitches a.k.a. Charlie Rock. He made this beat and a few other demos with them, but left the group due to a falling-out before they got signed, and Paul took over. Stitches later teamed up with an MC known as Dumar to form a duo called Class A Felony. They dropped one self-titled album in 1993 that also had production by Diamond D and the 45 King. Unfortunately, Dumar was murdered before any more material could be recorded and a second album never came out. Stitches also went on to produce other local MCs but has never gotten his due respect.
