Hearing him installing nitrous makes me glad Guttersnake and the mitchuation helps you guys. Also, the picture of him with hair... I bet that was nostalgic. I know I’d be like where did it go... why? Why did I become a ginger Mr Clean! Damn you’s hairline. God damn you’s to hell. Luckily still have hair.

Sometimes I almost miss those days. Almost. LOL. I installed a K&N on my 96 ram 4x4 to increase power but it just pulled air from the engine bay so it probably cost me a chunk of power. But damn if it didn't look really cool! Now, I have my Vipers maintained by one of the best techs in the country As I said, I almost miss those days. Almost.

Also had a huge coolant leak so everywhere we went we brought water jugs. Filled it up every single drive, 2 full jugs could get us anywhere in town lmao

I hope you're learning from them - jumping in with a little cash, and no knowledge, isn't a great plan for upgrading your cars. Generations of kids/young adults have made the same mistakes over and over again... you can learn from them, or suffer the same fate.
Man I love this channel.
Ahhh, the good 'ole Zex dry kit. Had one of those kits and it did me well, ran it on 4 different cars. They claim the kit was 125hp max, but go by some NOS nozzles so you could use their jets (the flanges were different on the ZEX and NOS jets) and you could then buy a big enough jets for the fuel side that you could run either an 80 or no jet at all on the nitrous side (really the same thing at that point) and get about a 200-225hp shot out of those kits. I am NOT advocating people do this , just remembering my first experience with a nitrous kit.

I lived in a small town growing up and Dave's story really resonates with me. I went for a ride in an Integra type R one time in high school and then drove it a bit later because it was for sale. I couldn't afford it though.
Ed, thanks for profiling the guys from DDE, always nice to see guys from this province do so well and have a lot of fun.
The import scene before the “Fast and the Furious”... what a time to be alive lol
Yep. Little town experiences. Same here with my 91 BMW 318is which I still own. I lived in a town in Arkansas back in high school. Me and a few friends watched a rented fast and furious. My leocean friend did some small mods to his civic and our other friends girlfriend at the time said why don't we race. Was already after dark and I mentioned a straight way on the out skirts of town and I was gonna lead us there because of two sharp curves before the straight way. My buddy gets in his girlfriends Chevy cavalier with another friend and her kid in a car seat in the back and his girlfriend in my buds civic. Me in my beamer with another friend waiting for defrost to clear windows and these idiots take off so I wiped windshield and haul ass after them doing 120 thru town, get to the first curve and friend in the cavalier loses it and all we see is headlights n taillights spinning all directions and dumbass girl in the civic brakes hard and gets sideways and forces me to do the same eventually drifting next to them and I let off to straighten out my beamer while she sends the civic into the opposite ditch flipping the civic. Everything almost seemed like slow motion as both cars flipped while I went in between while going through debri and dust. After I stopped in the middle of the road and me and my friend in disbelief, I busted a u turn and put the brights on the cavalier which is upside down and my bud runs to the civic which landed on its wheels. Girl wound up in the backseat due to no seatbelt and my leocean bud was bummed about his civic. Our other friends in the cavalier hanging upside down by their seatbelts thankfully and the kid luckily was still in the car seat but hanging due to the backseat coming apart. Kid had a small gash on forehead and our passenger friend had the worst with a huge gash on his head possibly from the pillar at the top windshield corner caving in from flipping multiple times. He was also delusional after the flip. I ran my bleeding friend and kid with mom to the hospital which was up the road and got back to fire crew and ambulance on scene. Gave my statement and watched as tow trucks started pulling cars out. Unfortunate that my friends got ticketed for reckless driving except me. Was also in the local newspaper and I saved the newspaper story. Crazy night and times but happy my friends all made it out.
I still want that type R :) Good old days, tim Hortons parking lots full of cars/girls off to the runs

Legend has it this guy's stories wrote the script to the fast and furious movie
This is the story of many of us that were driving age when the import scene took off while we were younger 😆
thats a trainwreck :P . But everyone who had a car in their teens thought they where racing drivers after watching the fast and the furious xD
Bank man: "you want a loan for rims?" "Yeah, they're Motegis, theyre expensive" 😂😂😂
I absolutly love these stories and DDE. There is nothing more inspiring than people that have a dream and work to achive it.
7:05 the audio changes and sounds like Dave is actually in my house.
This is so hilarious and relatable. We were never evicted, but some friends and I basically converted our house and front yard into an illegal mechanic shop too
These Canadians must not know how to drive both Damon and Dave flip their first cars LOLOLOL
Now Dave has a big wing.😉

No wonder why i love Dave when he gets to film for DDE.

And back then, in the 90's due to bandwidth limitations, they sure as hell didn't have KZread tutorials or any type of online video resource to help you fix/mod cars back then that young people take for granted now either. Back then, you'd better hope your reading comprehension was on point or you might suffer catastrophic engine failure.
I appreciate how he still has love for the imports and modifying.
Wtf. Dave's a badass. He has built a lot more than what most of us knew. Hat off to him!
Nice Honda tales, gotta love the DC2

When you nearly go to heaven for modding a car, you know you are a car fanatic!
Omg haha this guy lived my life. For me it was an 89 mustang gt with a blown motor, I was 18. Rebuilt it with my now brother in law in our apartment living room. I too worked at pizza hut poured everything into that car got in tons of trouble. Eventually sold it and became a manager at the hut and I bought a brand new mustang. Totalled (no crowds) it 6 months later.
Go Dave and DDE!
