    Thanks Hiram, info on these transmissions is really scarce on the internet for us home gamers. Just an FYI, the TCM is very sensitive to undervoltages, it throws undervoltage codes and puts the trans in limp mode and you have to clear those codes before it will go back into default mode and relearn it's shift points.

    Yes, actually the grounds are mounted on the frame bolted on top of paint. We always clean those out, buff the paint to make a good grounds connection.

    @@AutomaticTransmission interesting information. What has you experience been with the fiestas? Is it worth it to buy one to keep for 100k miles with only needing few repairs, or not?

    @Automatic Transmission, When the Ford dealership replaced the TCM the first time I was never briefed on driving the car "smooth" for first couple of days/break in period". Then again I dont think they messed with the transmission clutches. They did however replace one of the motors now that I recall along with the TCM. They did the relearn process like you did on this video.

    I didn't think they ever found a way to make those things work matter what. As I recall, they basically rolled off the assembly broken.

    @Automatic Transmission, is this the transmissions that has had so many problems? I have a 2014 Ford Focus SE with a bad TCM for the second time , I was driving when the engine shut down on me. The car has been at the Ford dealer shop for close to a month with this part on national back order. Ford extended the warranty so at least i'm not having to pay for the repair. I did, however, have to pay to have the body control module replaced which I am not totally convinced was ever bad. I asked them to give me all of the part they replace. If there is a core charge I would cover it. That way I can have them inspected to ensure these guys are not just shooting th eold parts cannon/replacing parts without proper troubleshooting. Thank you fo ruploading your videos. They are a source of good automotive repair knowledge . Take care and God bless! 👍

    Yes this is it. There's a lot of parts on back order lately. Not just the TCM. I'm having issues finding the conductor plate for the 6R80's, and normal transmission parts. I think this is just a political stunt as it says "whoever controls the food controls the people ". I hope it gets better since I have a few trucks waiting for parts that are on back order.

    Hello Sir, I replaced boths of my forks and put everything back together, but when I tried to make the relearn process it fails every time, even the TR sensor learning. It threw a code P2832 which says something about a shift fork "A" position circuit is not per predetermined limit. What could be happening?

  • @AutomaticTransmission

    @AutomaticTransmission

    Жыл бұрын

    Did you remove the sheet metal retaining clips from the forks? If you did not, then there's the issue. They need to be removed once you bolt them on. Otherwise they'll interfere with the clutch travel and will not pass the tests.

    @@AutomaticTransmission mine didn't come with those clips, I even made the clutch test and it completed all of them, but when I try to do the relearn process the car understands that it is not in Park or something like that, but... It shows on the dash it is on P, R, N and D but no S. I have reverser but no even gears

    These computer setup vids are very boring. Get back to gbox rebuilds. No ones gonna remember all these idiotic complex commands. Knowledge should last, not change every 10 yrs. Each generation of mechanics cannot understand the previous one. Don't talk about progres and things improving. It's just more and more inbuilt deliberate oblosescence.

    Sorry for your inconvenience, you can skip the ones you're not interested in. There's more to transmission repair than just replacing parts.
