It has a greater that 1:1 thrust to weight ratio. So basically it doesn't need its wings to provide lift because it can't fly straight up. It's been flown and landed with one wing before

Wings lost because DCS damage model. It shot up probably because the CG may have moved pretty far aft causing the rear to drop down and one engine was still running+the body can kind of act as a wing to pushing it up.

And we have liftoff! Liftoff of Apollo 11!

Should have been utilizing that flat terrain and flown about 150 ft off the ground

If using dumb bombs, then you have to do what IDS Tornado crews trained in; staying low and "lobbing" them at the last second.
