They flew so low that radar could not track them accurately enough for the ship’s missile system to be useful. They got lost in clutter of the islands.

The Argentine pilots only had one chance. And they shot with everything they had. They were running on very little fuel to carry more weapons. And the KC 130s couldn't be trusted as there were only 2. Fly low, radio silence, identify target, dodge enemy fire, and seadart. Shoot. Equivate counterattack (Sea Harriers PACs, shots and missiles) and fly low again until they leave the combat zone

Varios detalles ; A) la cantidad de bombas es incorrecta , por peso distancia y consumo de combustible solo se llevaban de 3 a 4 máximo . B) La altura es demasiada, a ese régimen los Sea Dart te aciertan . C) La barrera antiaérea era por zona , ahí están demasiado separados los barcos unos de otros. D) La mas importante , por el poco combustible solo podías realizar un pasada, elegir el blanco y atacar . E) Los piques en el agua , considerando que disparaban desde los barcos con armas de bajo calibre también. /// Como juego muy bueno, con Malvinas poco y nada que ver.

Te olvidaste el detalle más importante...q esa versión de A4 con la jiba arriba no lo tenía Argentina en 1982. El mismo video lo dice, q es un A4 - E...y los de la Armada eran A4- Q...más antigüos.. Igual los dibujos están excelentes y uno se siente como unn espectador de lujo de esos épicos ataques..

@@JorgeHFJ Acordate que cuando haces ataque rasante , el avión lo pones "de cotee" , lanzas y lo colocas en esa posición , le achicas el perfil de impacto a las AA , y dale al cañón un poquito previo al paquete, aunque sean 20 mm algún daño haces.

muy buen video !, para al que le interese la historia, en realidad los A-4Q no tenian la joroba como estos A-4E. Ademas no hacian "reentradas", de haberlo hecho los hubiesen derribado a todos. Tenian solo 4 o 5 minutos de combustible para sobrevolar el estrecho y regresar por lo que apenas avistaban un buque era una pasada a todo gas lanzandole con todo lo que llevaban . viva la patria!

In the Falklands they flew a different version of the Skyhawk... we operated Skyhawks with our RNZAF and a mate of mine was in the Falklands War he was Tactical Radar Operator on HMS Invincible he said he didn't know if he was going to live or die due!.. thanks from NZ 👍🇳🇿

Opa! Estou sempre tentando, mas o DCS é mais "complicado" de fazer videos... Apesar do sistema de câmeras do replay dele ser muito bom (pertindo vários angulos e tipos de cameras interessantes), a track que grava o que aconteceu não é nada confiável. É muito comum você ir assistir o que vc gravou e não acontece nada do jeito que havia acontecido na partida. Tipo... na partida vc abateu 3 caras e quando vai assistir o replay, seu avião cai antes mesmo de chegar a ver os 3 caras! =/ Por isso não tem tanto video de DCS... Não é sempre que a track reproduz direitinho o que aconteceu na partida e também não sempre que acontece algo que vale a pena fazer um video... É isso. Valeu pelo comentário!! o7 PS: Esse bug do replay já é conhecido a mais de 5 anos e não resolveram até agora! =/

We don't belive they sank the Invincible, they damged it. It's imposible to sink a carrier with one Exocet and six 250 Kg bombs. And more than few passed that wall as they sank between five or seven ships and damged and put out bussines even more. In that war many, many things didn't went as planned for both sides.

Despite the sea harrier clearly being the superior aircraft, with advanced electronics, and with the aim9 sidewinner, it didn't manage to stablish air superiority, despite having shot down 21 enemy aircraft, which were all technologicly inferior, as it could not keep up with the continuos bombardmens of the argentine air force and naval aviation

@@guilledione1848 No AC's were hit during the conflict but a large container ship called the Atlantic Conveyor seem to have involuntarily attracted two Exocets away from HMS Hermes (I think). The Argie pilots were awesome and just what you'd expect from a nation that gave the world Juan Manuel Fangio.

The real A-4 pilors skimmed the surface below 15 meters at 900kph. Then they climbed to 60 meters over the targey, aimed and released ordnance.

Interesting to see those 500 LB bombs explode when released from that height...in fact they wouldn't even have had time to fuse! Where are the Harriers?

the Argentinean Navy A4 had retarding devices for their Mk82 bombs, since their A4Q (improved A4B with 5 weapon pylons and wired for AIM-9B Sidewinder) were ment for fleet defense (pretty much like the role they played for USN Essex class and Australian Navy's Majestic) and naval strike (mainly aimed to other WW2 era ships like pretty much every other South American navy had at the moment, which had very poor defenses against low altittude jet fighters) aboard the Colossus class ARA 25 de Mayo. Thats why Naval A4Q had a much better success ratio compared to airforce's A4, which dropped regular bombs and many many of them didn't explode. At the end of the day, Naval A4Qs were less than 10, but numbers show that the average damage was pretty high compared with FAA, which had not only A4s but the entire Mirage Family, including Mirage V and IAI Finger/Dagger

@@jotabe1984 Tenes que tener en cuenta que la fuerza aérea nunca se había preparado para una guerra aeronaval ya que esa no era su tarea sino la de la aviación naval...por ese motivo no tenia ninguna táctica para atacar buques en mar abierto ni tampoco armamento adecuado para lanzamiento a bajo nivel....con todo esto durante el mes de abril se adaptaron rápidamente mediante practicas para logar una buena performance para ataques rasantes...En cuanto a las bombas la que generaba problema era la Mk17 que era una bomba vieja diseñada para ser lanzada a gran altura, los técnicos le modificaron la espoleta mecánica para poder lanzarla a bajo nivel, al ser una espoleta mecánica la precisión no era alta en su armado, esto se pudo superar con la posterior utilización de la bomba BRP-250 con características parecida a una mk-82...Esta bomba podía usar una espoleta electrónica que permitía un armado adecuado mas un paracaídas de frenado que la hacían la mas idónea dentro de la fuerza aérea para su utilización en este tipo de ataque, esto se pudo demostrar por ej en el ataque al Convenry y la Broadsword, la dos fueron atacadas por una escuadrilla de 4 A-4B, 2 llevaban la Mk17 y las otras 2 las BRP-250, la Conventry fue atacada con las BRP-250 produciendo su hundimiento, mientras que a la Broadsword las Mk17 pegaron pero fallaron a la hora de la detonación.

​@@kyleJohn1997 At first, the fuse didn´t spin enough to arm the bombs due to the low altitude of deployment, but this was quickly solved by modifyinghe fuse mechanism. The other problem was that these were WWII bombs (brithish by the way, believe it or not!) originally designed to impact on iron ships, not aluminum...

The Sheffield was sunk in London. Argentines had Exocet misdiles but French specialists left it unsupported. So with help of university they managed to fire it. But they could not arm it. So the Exocet that hit Sheffield basically hit and leaked fuel. The flammable painting in the walls of Sheffield made it impossible to extinguish fire. It was sunk in London when they painted it.

Not the right way to drive anti ships mission: why climbing and loose energy and speed exposing to enemy fire? You were lucky when missile passed very closed to your scooter because proximity fuze doesn't work in DCS. In Vietnam many pilots were damaged/shot down to SAM proximity fuze missile.

Yeah... I was feeling comfortable because we had a lot of scooters flying around and diverging their fire. The missile wasn't there when I played the mission, it only appeared on the replay. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ DCS replays can be a total mess, but since it is more dramatic... I used that replay footage!

@@becauseiwasinverted5222 Mate!! Sorry! Forget what I just said... I completely forgot that I bought WWII Armor and Vehicles assets. The strange vessels you saw are LST Mk II and the LS Samuel Chase. The only one available on default DCS is the Ticonderoga Class. Sorry, my bad! =(

Creo que sí los pilotos argentinos hubieran volado a la misma altitud que tu en el video, los habrían derribado a todos, al soltar las bombas tenían que coger un poco de altura para evitar que la explosiones de sus propias bombas pudieran alcanzarles, si cogian mucha altura eran un blanco facil para los misiles de los piratas ingleses.

Nicely imaged, but pulling up after your runs like that over open water and you would have taken a sam or two in the ass. The Armada aircraft had to make low fast runs and leave, not hang out like an A-10 over a group of group of Taliban.

It's not common knowledge but after the Falklands conflict argentina bought six glass bottomed boats just to review their airforce! UK ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The brisith did the same. They brought frogmen to get the atomic bombs from the HMS Coventry and "the nail cross". What a funny bath...

Had the Argentinian aircraft carrier been about 5 knots faster they may have well schwacked the RN.
