That’s why people need to listen and pay attention to the mothers after having a baby. I don’t know why they don’t have free therapy for women who can’t afford it for a year after having a baby. It’s a lot that women go through when we have a baby. More men need to be more understanding of this as well, but we need to start making sure women are ok after having a baby and ONCE AGAIN LISTEN TO US WHEN WE SAY WE DON’T FEEL RIGHT!!!! It’s sad that we get ignored if we talk about what’s going while being pregnant, but also get ignored after having the baby. People need to listen to women because we risk our lives to have children. I’m fortunate to have a fiancé that cares about my well being and listens to me on anything that’s going on with me, whether it be my Sickle Cell Anemia (pain crisis) or different symptoms along with different types of pain that may come from something else. Also, he listens when I feel like I have depression even before I was pregnant with our son. I went through Breast Cancer and every thing I was getting treated for (because I went through hell and back before cancer treatment) came and went so fast and I wasn’t able to really process everything that happened in those moments that everything was being done. After surgery, I had to cope with all the emotions after everything while coping with losing a breast and that was soooooooo fucking hard. I hit a really bad depression after everything and it was hard to get out of it. But yes, women deserves better when it comes down to some family and in the medical field because we still have OBGYNs that ignore their pregnant patients that needs help. We need to demand respect and a doctor listening to us. Even if we have to change our doctor, DO IT!!!! Always get a 2nd opinion when you know something isn’t right because you’ll never know, you might save your life.

@@angeleyes3396 that’s not selfish. If you’re not good, then the baby won’t be good. We have to always make the right decision not just for our baby, but for ourselves too. As long as you take care of yourself 1st, you’ll be able to take good care of your baby(ies).

@javiruiz8365 It is almost like a severe case of depression. I think she may deal with separation anxiety when u never want the baby out of ur sight. The mother has a hard time separating from the baby after they are used to them technically being one person while they are carrying them for the nine months. I dont know if those two things fall in the same category or not.

There are definitely medications you can take for postpartum depression if your psychiatrist deems it necessary. There are also different therapies one could try. I wouldn’t say just time because things can actually get worse if you aren’t being treated one way or another.

I’m 33 years old and I had a baby for the first time in my life 4 days ago…..I’m actually comfortable with nobody around right now because she’s an infant and so vulnerable and sweet. 😂🎉❤ I cried one time because of something else that had none to do with my baby. My daughter makes me truly happy 🎉

Yes, postpartum depression is real, and yes, it takes time, but there is medication that helps with the process. I was reluctant to take medication at first and put it off for two months trying to do natural remedies to get better. I spiraled out of control, and once I started the medication and worked with my doctor to find the right one and dose, I began to feel like my old self again after about six months. I was on the medication for 2.5 years and slowly weaned off of it 6 months without side effects. More women have to share their experiences with other mothers and also embrace medication sooner, dont be afraid of it. Exercise, eating healthy, listening to music, prayer, sleep, meditation, and lots of support from family helps the process. Remember, you will get through. You will feel normal again one day. Ask for help and accept help from as many people as possible. Remember, this too shall pass. ❤

Haley’s experience with postpartum and adapting to her “new body” etc, is the exact reason I think women should wait until their 30’s to have kids. Yes, postpartum still exists at any age. But it’s easier to deal with image changes etc, when you’re a little older and know yourself as a woman more. 20’s is just too young to be a mother, in my opinion.
