Actually used a dc heated blanket when it was 20 degrees out and no heat in the room. 400 watt panels and 4 Duracell 100 amp and. It was at night so no panel power. Miserable night. A few tips. Use a blanket over and under it. For some reason I felt like I was itching all over and slightly shocked. It is thin so it needs something to hold the heat in. Used a sheet under it to keep hot spots off me. Next night was so much more comfortable. Trying to use things before needed. If I remember correctly didn’t drag the batteries down.

Best thing to do is to get one of the very few 12 V electric blanket that’s actually washable and then you lay the blanket on top of you when using it and put another small blanket on top of that to trap some of the heat in.

Would you say it heats up as warm as a standard AC heated blanket?

Great Video, I ended up building my own portable solar generator. I had too many issues with these mini units on amazon. 1500w 100ah mppt with 2 300w mono panels. It will run my window a/c unit, my full size fridge etc and its portable. *Love and Light from New Mexico.*

@@LoneStarPrepping Awesome ! I love Solar. I should have mentioned my issue with the portables off amazon. When I charged them via solar panels most of over charged on me and had to be sent back. It was a small 150w 12v panel, happened on two top units !? Weird, anyways great channel Sir ! HOOAH

@@LoneStarPrepping not at all, a jackery 500 and a generak. I couldnt afford to keep buying them so I built my own, too many power outages down here in NM.

I bought the blanket and used it with my cigarette lighter. My observations: the feel of the blanket isn’t nice. It feels very synthetic. It’s bigger than I thought- it worked well for the back seat but was too cumbersome for a nap in the front seat. I will be looking around for a washable blanket. Nice color- doesn’t show dirt.

I have a similar blanket that I found at Rural King. I don’t have the generator yet. I was curious how quickly this would drain the car battery when the car is off. I’ve kept it in my car for winter emergencies due to Ohio’s cold winters and easily stranding in a car. Figured it could keep me warm til help arrived. Definitely another bonus for getting the back up battery like you have. Tfs!!!

If the battery is a typical 720 watt hours, I guessing this one would last about 10 to 12 hours or so, but it depends on how efficient the battery is.

One thing to keep in mind with these power banks is how long it actually keeps a charge(it would not be good when you really need it and it’s lost its charge sitting in your trunk), But also how many cycles of charges it can do.(it can perform great when you first get it,but does it lose its charge quickly as time goes by).

Some folks don't realize that you have to hold the button down until it says power off on the screen. If you just push it once, the screen goes blank but it's still on standby and will slowly use power. So push, hold, and wait for it to show it's powering off. Then release the button.

Very cool item! So this would in theory could run longer off my solar power station than a regular AC electric blanket?

It should. I think it used between 40 an 50 watts and my AC blanket is rated at 180 watts.

Good option to know about and I'm considering it. I'm curious, and it would be helpful to know, how long the blanket will stay warm with that power station.

Second/continued comment here: I live in a van and have two 500 wh powerpacks.. one charges in office right next to van while I use the other one. Will this blanket keep me warm in 30f degree winter months?? Or do u know of a better low wattage blanket?

No. I would not count on using the dc blanket to stay comfortable. You might consider the olympion wave propane heater to stay warm. I did a video on it.

What does your 180watt AC powered blanket temp rate in same condition w temp gun? Can you do a comparison (not video, just reply) ..put both blankets on highest temp side by side and use temp gun on them both and share w me the temps of each? Or do a video and send me the link? Thank you!!

The dc powered blanket doesnt even come close to the heat our ac blanket puts out... not even close. To me the dc one is for emergency heat.

why not try a super compactor battery..???? drain it down to zero

The R600 has a 720Wh battery capacity, so the 180 watt blanket would drain it in about 3.5 hours. I did use the 180 watt blanket at home on the 10,000Wh system I built with no problem but not good idea with such a small unit.

How many watts does it pull?
