These Naruto binges have been the most fulfilling videos to make. Feels like a fun project I get to do every time, and I feel so elated when one is done, knowing I can share it with you all. Not many people notice that after the last chidori vs rasengan, just before Naruto scratches Sasuke's bandana, Sasuke quickly changes his stabbing claw attack into a close hand punch. It was that moment that he had a change of heart about killing Naruto.

Even if he didn’t switch to closed fist, it’s debatable on if he could have killed Naruto anyways. Sasuke already killed Naruto once by completely shattering his skull and spine. And Naruto healed within moments. It would stand to reason even if he pierced his heart, Kurama could have potentially healed and revived him again.

I can’t WAIT for you to react to Shippuden, Shikamaru has one of the coldest most gangster moments in all of anime fight history

I’m not sure that they disliked Naruto’s clone jutsu per say, but the author Kishimoto actually did apologise to the animators. This is because most animators and artists have a hard time drawing feet and hands, but Kishimoto actually enjoys drawing them. So he filled the manga with characters in open-toed sandals, thus supposedly prompting his apology to the animation team. At least that’s how the story goes anyway.

I love how Naruto and Sasuke spend this entire fight using precise chakra control to stand on the water and walls of the cliffs, because learning to walk on surfaces like these is what they spent the Land of Waves arc training TOGETHER to master.

I never really appreciated the extent of that but you're right it is an arena designed to pay off that training. Besides the badass statues.

1:00 - the big tragedy that set this whole thing in motion was that Sasuke was starting to have a normal life, but then Itachi's return reminded him of the pain and loss he's suffered, then coupled with how Itachi was still able to brush him off like he was nothing, and being put in the Mangekyo Sharingan again, Sasuke was hellbent on wanting the power to take down Itachi, to the point that he feels having a normal life will only slow him down or make him weaker.

Masashi Kishimoto was actually planning to kill off Chogi and Neji during that arc but his editors told him not to because the American fan base loved those characters so much. It becomes evident in shippuden because they get significantly less screen time.

“It’s not the future I dream of anymore. Only the past…that’s where my dream lies.” That’s one of my favorite Sasuke quotes that also really shows why he acts the way he does.

Yes Naruto can die in universe and Sasuke has spare his life in the last clash. Sasuke slowed down the last Chidori and hit a little deeper instead of through the heart. This was meant to symbolize to the audience that Sasuke isn't completely lost yet.

To be fair in that final attack that each of them did after the Rasengan/Chidori, Sasuke went for Naruto's chest and fully hit him, while Naruto just scratched Sasuke's headband to prove a point. If Naruto hit him in the chest as well, i think it would have been a double KO.

The original Naruto series is honestly one of the best out there and to see someone else watch it for the first time feels like I’m also seeing it again for the first time.

Shikamaru's moment when they call his mission a failure is amazing coming from a "kid's show". The aftermath of dealing with the injuries, the feeling of despair and frustration, and the failure itself, the fact that this show took the time to deal with that is amazing for its time.

15:41 IIRC in the sub, Fugaku said something along the lines of "So, it won't go the same as it did with Itachi eh?" and I always interpreted that as him realizing that fire style wasn't the element that Sasuke is most naturally attuned to, unlike himself and Itachi (it's explained in Shippuden that while anyone can technically train in and master any element, everyone has an element that they're more naturally attuned to. Sasuke's is lightning, so fire jutsu didn't come to him as naturally as it did to Itachi). But that interpretation may just be my own attempt to find reasons to believe Fugaku *wasn't intentionally* that much of a dick, just didn't think through the effects of all his words because he had too much on his mind, being the head of the clan and the head of the Leaf police force. That and I suspect that most of Sasuke's family is on the spectrum, with how hard it is for all of them (except the mom) to express their feelings, among other things (this may be me projecting though, being autistic myself lol).

just to make it clear, i don't know if anyone has said it, the whole best friend killing thing is actually because of the emotion when the Uchihas go up against a very strong emotion such as a trauma, seeing someone die or just going through a very strong feeling such as hate, love, sadness etc, that's when the Mangekyo Sharingan is activated, it has to do with the feelings, not exactly the best-friending lol

It's used on humans to some extent, but pretty much as a taunt. Sasuke did the palm-up version to Gaara after punching him in the face in the Chunin Exam, for example.
