Nice, keep the drone DEPOT and YARD vids coming, seems to be the popular thing now. I wonder too if the 60’s are next for the chop if not sold. Interesting that a Cartic has been shunted over there randomly!

Learning at the moment !! Have a few more to come they are better than this one

All but 5 of these Class 60's have been sold. The only ones DC Cargo now have is 60011, 60017, 60024, 60062 and 60074 that remains in their fleet stored. I would personally like to bring 11 of these Class 60's repurposed as freight/passenger locomotives with the Progress Rail rebuilt and repower project. The Caterpillar C175 is available and I believe 60014 is going to be the first of them to be done in this way. Love the video and there is an article on Rail Forums UK about the Class 60's for sale and Land Recovery UK has bought 12 of them and DC Rail has bought others so far. Great video and thanks for this. Peter. EDIT: So long as the main frame isn't gone and it is usable. All these Class 60's have a chance of being reused. Either in the UK or elsewhere. The reason that 60006 was scrapped was because it sustained severe engine room fire damage and it warped some of the main supports of that one so it was stripped of salvageable parts and was cut up on site in January 2020. So only one being lost so far.

Brilliant information regarding the Class 60’s sounds like a future after all, which is great news. I gather 014 is the one at Longport. I’m sure the project will be successful and within a budget sub stainable. I have been to Loughborough over the weekend so another video will appear over the weekend. Interesting place, haven’t been there since the Class 60’s we’re getting built (Found memories) in that back field all them years ago !!

I need to go to Toton PDQ, looks like a great depot. Shame on DB Cargo for neglecting all those 60s.

Great footage, what a shame it is seeing so many tugs just left to rot like that, I think the 60s are brilliant locos and from what I've heard, a lot of drivers prefer them to the sheds

Yes big shame. I do like the tugs myself, seeing them in a line like that is criminal but that’s how things go !! Hopefully some more have another life in the future 😬
