    I just got mine today and love it. It appears to be well made and fits perfect. And more important for me, it does not make me look like I'm from outer space. It's small on my head which is just what I was hoping.

    Man, the enthusiasm is off the charts with this review. 😂🤣😂🤣😂 I’ve been looking at getting a Daytona 3/4 helmet to go along with my other helmets, I’ve never ridden with a 3/4 or a 1/2 helmet before because I like that piece of mind with a full face. I have 4 helmets but I wear my Bell Bullitt mostly because it feels like I’m wearing a 3/4 helmet and it’s super light. I think I’ll pick a Daytona up just to see how it is during the hot Arizona summers but I don’t think I’d take long rides with it. Who knows, it might just become a favorite.

    I hear ya. For summers I wear the bullit as well as it's very close to the feel of a 3/4. But now I mostly ride my full face.

    2 things I don't like about that shield and similar Shields, they don't hold down you constantly got to change gasket, seal and at Highway speeds it doesn't stay shut it flies open. I would get a modular helmet which is exactly what I'm looking for now.

    $62 on Amazon which is pretty cheap. I'm thinking about one. The bubble shield makes it look like you just landed on the moon! And also, with the bubble shield, if you were to flip it up while you're riding, it just about tears your head off when the wind catches it, so it can be dangerous! I think the flat flip up shield would be better.

    I thank you 2 years later for this review- I always ask God for protection- it lioks light on inner padding - but it also looks SO sleek! Believe it or not I still have this helmet, but I moved to full face helmets and will not go back to anything else for protection and less fatique on my rides. I am glad you found review useful. I did not like the feeling being inside a full face helmets at first but if you are thinking about it, I went with my first helmet that Bell makes called the Bullitt and it feels almost like a 3/4 helmet because of the thin chin bar. It is very open and airy and gives you a little better protection than a 3/4 does and lets you get used to the full face. After that I started to get comfortable with the full face. I have to 2. One is made by Shoei and Scorpion. Take care and ride safe.

    Is there room enough for a BT intercom? So you're saying Daytona size chart says you would take an XL, you normally take a L so Daytona said to get a L and you did and it fits well? What does your head measure with the tape measure? It looks like larger sunglasses would get pushed down by the brow. Is this a fair statement? Have you heard about Amazon?

    I actually think it is removable. I actually tried to mess with it and I pulled on it lightly on the padding by the ears and the padding came off a little than snapped it back in. I don't want to really take it apart as I wear a bandanna on my head so I don't need to take it apart to wash it. So I think it might be removable.

    I ordered one of these Daytona open-face helmets based on reviews like this and while it had a very low profile it was also very unconformable to wear. Upon closer inspection I discovered there was no comfort padding, just a thin liner over the styrofoam protective layer. That's how these companies can offer smaller outside shells, they scrimp on the extra padding inside. I sent the helmet back and ordered a different brand that had plenty of padding in it. I would rather have a comfortable helmet that looks a little bigger, but I can wear it for a long period of time. Think about it....if the helmet is a lot smaller on the outside then something had to be omitted on the inside, it's simple physics....and unfortunately that something is a comfortable padded liner.

  • @asoshkin

    @asoshkin

    4 жыл бұрын

    Head shapes are different and unfortunately it doesn't fit your head comfortably. I have no problem with comfort whats so ever and my daily rides are over 200 miles. Glad you got something that fits you better.

  • @CaneFu

    @CaneFu

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@asoshkin The reason your helmet fit better is also because yours is a Large while mine was an XL. Daytona makes 3 different outer shell sizes for this model and the middle shell size covers the Medium through XL sizes. That means that the medium size gets the most comfort padding, the large gets some padding (yours), and the XL like I had gets no padding at all. As you said in this video, your helmet has "decent padding" while mine had none. The point of having enough comfort padding is to accommodate different head shapes. This makes for a very flawed sizing system that Daytona uses in their quest for the lowest profile DOT helmets. Hopefully some of your viewers may benefit from this if they understand that if their helmet size is on the upper limits of each of the 3 different shell sizes (which is Small, XL, and 4XL) they aren't going to get any comfort padding at all in those sizes. Unfortunately I put way too much time into researching this after I received this helmet but at least I understand the problems with helmet sizing a lot better now.
