There's a thousand variables to discuss here ( as far as the results go ) needless to say the first one that comes to mind is " are the pellets used in each rifle , there optimum for accuracy ? " then you could go on for hours and hours discussing and arguing the toss which is best for ?? For what ?? Accuracy ? Value for money ? ,build quality ? Aftersales assistance ? Best in the field ? Best bench rested , , Blah blah blah ... I have too say , I own both and could go on forever and a day about each .. im not though , but I will say BOTH are great rifles , and dependant on your budget .. you'll be pleased with either ... Ps .. Ive tested virtually all pellets known to man in both rifles , I know which is best in each of them , others may be different .. basically I'm not gonna squeeze the lions balls through the bars .. the cage door may be open , ( keeping it to myself as not to seem bias and annoy anyone ) ... so buy either you wont be disappointed ..

@@adriangodley Hello Sir. From your answer and explanation, you know what you are talking about, and great respect. I suspected the Daystate would be costing a fair bit more money. In Andys Airgun Reviews, on Utube, Andy explains that the R12 performs better, produces better groupings than guns twice its price. With great respect to this gentleman from Crackshots, who very kindly reviewed both rifles, it's arguable which is best. Daystate are a phenomenal air rifle, no question about that. Though they are nearly twice the price of the R12. Those groupings in my humble opinion, didn't warrant twice the price of the other air rifle. To the working man/woman, I'd expect they'd find the BSA R12 more appealing. I'd expect the Daystate to appeal to someone with more money to spend, who has to have, arguably the best, in their eyes. They are both fantastic air rifles, I'd humbly say, with different appeal.

You ask, is the RW 1000 pounds better? of course as far as price is concerned gains per pound diminish exponentially the more you spend, to some people £1K is mere pocket money and easily disposable, in the way that the wealthy will pay ludicrous amounts for perceived exclusivity. So is it worth £1K more, to some of course it is, to others no, for me the opportunity to buy a pre owned RW for not a lot more than the cost of an R12 was an opportunity not to be missed, fortunately, like you it fits me well, and unlike some I love the feel of the trigger...thankfully we are all different
