Day Trip to Rockwall 🪨 (FULL EPISODE) S10 E5
You may think you know Rockwall, and that might just be as a fancy suburb of Dallas, but it's more complex than that. This town on the banks of Lake Ray Hubbard has new surprises around every corner.
This museum is housed in the oldest residential home in town - and it’s more than just a treasure trove of local artifacts. It’s also the place where you can learn about the real and very mysterious rock wall, which has some controversy about how it got there or where it came from. See what’s left of this seemingly man-made historic wall that stretches down 80 feet into the ground outside the museum.
If the last destination was the most historic, than this just might be the most futuristic house in town… even if it was built in the 1960s. This space ship-looking circular house was one of the few popular “Futuro Houses” that actually made it to market during the 1960s, when this modern style was created. And though now it’s only a shell of a building, I bet your imagination will run wild with the sci-fi possibilities of this place.
You might be surprised to find that the local favorite burger joint is actually a converted garage! It’s got none of the those frilly things like fries, tables and waitstaff - but what it does have is some of the best flavorful and greasy burgers you’ll find. Order yours with the homemade jalapeno relish, grab a coke and some chips and enjoy your burger nearby at Harry Myers Park (because it’s actually illegal to eat on the property.)
Just off the square is an upscale restaurant serving more than just your average Texan eats. Chef Mat of the Culinary Institute of America cooks up delicious fresh plates with global influences to create something super special, like rolled pork tacos with ancho BBQ Sauce.
And just like nothing is quite what it seems in this town, the local gravel and turf company has built a golf course behind their lot in a corn field. True, it’s only 9-holes and par 3, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still hours of fun!
The Rockwall Harbor is a happening place! Whether you’re taking sailing lessons with the North Texas Sailing School, hopping on a yacht at the Rush Creek Yacht Club or catching a concert on a summer night, this spot has something for everyone, and an incredible view of Lake Ray Hubbard.

I’m so excited to see my home town showcased by a KZreadr! I actually saw my old school in the video, as well as my old art teacher. I can’t believe you didn’t bring up the famous disc golf course in Harry Meyers Park, it is one of the highest rated in Texas. Now this video’s got me hungry, I might have to walk down to boots burgers later.
I moved to Rockwall in 1969 and went to school Kindergarten - Senior........it was an amazing place to live. Still have family there and love visiting. The stories I could tell..............!

I grew up in Rockwall, moved there before Lake Ray Hubbard was put in. Took sailing lessons at Chandlers Landing. Christopher Cross wrote his hit 'Sailing' while on the lake. I grew up in the old Methodist Church you flashed. Loved my childhood SO MUCH, but I would never move back it is so expensive now. I love to visit, but the massive growth makes my head spin!
As a local realtor with Ebby Halliday since 2001, I can say we have grown considerably. Great place to raise a family. Good schools and low taxes compared to other areas.
Good job showing spots even locals don’t know about Been in Rockwall since late 80s and knew the driving range was there but had no idea about the course.
You always make me happy watching your channel. It makes me laugh, it makes me hungry and it makes wish I was there. Thanks for the free ride ❤😉

I am on this lake every weekend with my boat fishing. I live 3 blocks from Rockwall. There are huge homes there alright. I wonder if they have their money from being so tight as I doordash and go to these large homes all the time. The small homes tip well. These huge homes order things 12 miles away and tip 2 to 3 dollars.
What a great episode!! Thank you 👍👍👍👍
Your on a roll son!!! Re shoot rko promo..topcoat bow tie..perfect!
Bro you gotta do Garland, Tx one day. We have a great history and community in this town. For instance our church is in the old Garland electricity building dating back a little over 100 years. Please take our town in consideration. Love your show by the way. Im a Texas native and love my state and totally respect what you do for our great state. 👍

The shotgun on the wall inside of Boot's 😂
Moved to Rockwall in Dec of 2004 from Kansas City, MO and I'd never heard of Boots Burgers until this video...I'm definitely checking it out now. I've only been here 18.5yrs and Rockwall has boomed since I've been here, I can only imagine how it feels for those here longer than me. Traffic gets a bit ridiculous on Saturday afternoons, the bridge can be a mess sometimes, but overall a good place to live for people of most financial means
Gained a sub - cannot believe how well and cinematically you shared this story. Keep up the grind man much success to come
I LIVE HERE!!! I do have my gripes on how sprawled everything is but I love everything about here. I've never been to Boots Burgers. Also Harry Meyers is my favorite walking place. It also is connected to where I took schooling.

I have to tell you…Alvin is also the Yellowjackets and our colors are orange and white. Going to put Rockwall on my list for next trip to north Texas!
Im a Brit, and used to live in Chandlers Landing, about 20 years ago.
This must have been shot a pretty good while ago... great video but A-1 Golf has been closed for a while and Grandys was replaced by a Pollo Regio a long time ago now but the footage here still shows Grandys.
Boots looks like my kinda spot. Dang bureaucrats why can't we eat it there? He's not kidding about that grill either. Cool Chet
Boots is awesome because they put all the veggies in it. I got a burger at a big name hamburger 🍔 joint and it was bread, meat and a piece of lettuce 🥬. I was hugely disappointed. I could have move to Rockwall many years ago and glad I didn't, because I would have been priced out, by the way it grew in wealth.
