Day in the Life of a Japanese Hot Sauce Maker
Get my Paolo fromTOKYO Premium Kaminari Hot Sauce - paolofromtokyohotsauce.com/
The hot sauce is made with an original blend of Premium Kanzuri chili paste aged 6 years for a deeper umami, locally grown Carolina Reaper Peppers for that extra fire and shoyu (Japanese soy sauce). The hot sauce crafting process is performed by local artisans so they can only craft about 1200 bottles at a time but this guarantees the utmost attention to detail and an unrivaled taste experience. The hot sauce will be released in limited batches, so get it while it's still available.
A day in the Life of Japanese Hot Sauce Maker in Myoko Niigata Japan. This is the working hours at a local Japanese hot sauce producer outside of Tokyo which shows the Japanese office culture for the area. He works at Kanzuri, a family-owned small batch producer of a one-of-a-kind fermented chili paste, also named Kanzuri, it’s original form dating back more than 400 years as the Niigata people carried it into battle as a way to supplement their nutrition and warm their bodies. Still undiscovered by much of the world, this spicy umami-rich ingredient is widely-known among culinary experts and chefs throughout Japan. And…Kentaro has been working tirelessly for this company for the last 9 years in sales, along with 18 other artisan and staff to make it all happen. And today is special, because I also get to introduce to all of you my first ever Japanese hot sauce made only in Japan at Kanzuri's Niigata small family owned factory.

My bottle came in today! This is by far the best artisan hot sauce I've tasted. Even though it uses Carolina Reaper, I'm blown away by how much flavor is packed in just a couple drops.
I love how Paolo genuinely introduces his content as opposed to pretending to bump into the worker on the street randomly, like so many NYC creators do

This series, A Day In The Life, is one of the best content in YT. Unique + interesting, consistent in quality. I dont want this to ever stop- only worry is that at one point, Paolo would have already covered all types of jobs and Japan and this may end. 😂😭

The image of the red peppers on the snow is the most beautiful haunting picture in the whole Paolo from Tokyo series. This is a unique episode in the One day in the Life section due to the exotic snowy setting and because it shows the collaboration between Paolo and a hot sauce maker in North Japan. I expect to find the hot sauce when I visit Japan next year.
This is not just a Japan channel ....This is a cultural documentary that makes me appreciate our planet and I will support this channel till I'm an old woman. 👍👍🥰🥰
Please do not ever stop this series!
Ordered my bottle. Normally, with hot sauces no one talks about umami. I’m excited to taste.
Hi Paolo! My Japanese wife and I are big fans of you (eagerly awaiting every new video) - and I am a big fan of hot sauce. As soon as we finished watching this one she said, "This is what you're getting for Christmas" and placed an order. I can't wait for December! Thanks also for the PSA. My wife was born & raised, and I lived in Japan for 7 years and we never knew it had any native hot sauce. Now, thanks to you, we know.
I've bought one, and it's actually my favorite hot sauce right now. Blends extremely well into barbecue sauce, adds an extra zip to ketchup, goes deliciously straight onto eggs. Haven't tried it on a steak yet. I've also managed to find a bottle of kanzuri, and can't wait to try it.
Wow that’s so awesome you were able to work on making a hot sauce! Congrats! Can’t wait to try it myself!

Just ordered my hot sauce. Thank you so much for this channel and all you do. Your channel was the first about Japan that I started watching and it has helped me learn so much. I have always been fascinated with Japan and Japanese culture but after I started watching your videos and, other channels as well, my love of the country has grown even more! I haven't even been there yet! I have even started taking Japanese lessons! I hope to visit in the near future and get to spend some time seeing all of the amazing things that I have seen in your videos in person and sharing them with my wife! Who knows, maybe we will run into you and I can buy you a beer or five lol. Thank you again for all you do and congratulations on what you have achieved!

Woah they are giving us
I got some of this a couple of months ago and I'm still working through the one bottle I bought. I must say that out of many hot sauces I have tried in various styles and spice levels, this stuff is the absolute best balance of flavor and spiciness I have ever experienced. I wish it were easier to get Kanzuri's other products in the US, but this collaboration has gotten me hooked! Well done!
Paolo literally just made a documentary, promotion, and a brand new product in one single video 😂 Great work, looking forward to more content like this 👍
This video is so well done, Paolo. Your entire production quality is amazing. The planting chili scene is shot so beautifully. You and your team out perform yourself with 'Day in the Life' video.
Laying chilies on the snow at the base of a mountain for them to steep in their own flavor for three years afterwards is some mythic level hot sauce making.
Congratulations on getting your own hot sauce, Paolo! This could be the start of even greater moments for you and your family!
Your success is so deserved. Not a single episode of a Day in the life has been missed since I first found your channel. Keep up the incredible content, and well wishes to all of your future endeavors.
I hit the like button before I even watched the video. That's how much I love this series! Keep pumping out these Day in a Life series Paolo! I can't get enough of these and congratulations on your new hot sauce!!
I already got my sauce today . From a Mexican who loves spicy food and I can’t eat without hot sauce. It is one of the best I ever try . I can’t stop eating it . Great flavor and perfect kick . 👌🏽
I love their work jackets so much!!
Ordered 3 bottles of the hot sauce. Can't wait till it gets here so I can try it. Hope you do more collaborations like this one!!!

Paolo, your videos have been bringing me so much joy over the years and cultivated my passion for japanese culture. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
Love these simple day in a life vids by Paolo. Its like a different vibe of getaway/vacation from my own stressful life that isn't a travel/food trip video. Man it would be a dream to work as his assistant camera man, coordinator, or something.
Paolo, congratulations on having your own hot sauce. I'm really proud if you and I wish you nothing but fiery success, brother! 🌬️🔥🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵
Just got mine in the mail. This is FAR AND AWAY the BEST hot sauce I have ever tasted. It’s like it was designed for me. The soy sauce as a base is mind blowing, and the heat is relentless. I can’t wait to share it with my friends 😋
I love seeing this type of stuff, so interesting to see how people in Japan live their daily lives. So many similarities to America and also some differences. It’s so cool! And that Hot Sauce looks delicious. 😋 I also never knew Japan was the snowiest country in the world, they get more snowfall than Russia, Canada, mainland America, and even Alaska. Japan is amazing :)
I swear Paolo got me so excited for the hot sauce I was considering buying it even though I cannot ingest spice because of my stomach. Exceptional video as always!
What you expect japanese is expert on perfecting of there products its so satisfying to watch i love japanese culture
the quality of this series never ceases to amaze me, keep it up!
I always look forward to your Day In A Life videos! 🤗
I love the “day in a life” series and I always look forward to them because not only am I always learning something but paolo shows just hard and dedicated Japanese people are, these videos are amazing I really he continues this series
This has quickly become my favorite YT channel. We were in Japan a couple months ago and have already booked to go back next April. I could not resist ordering a bottle :)
Every single episode brings me joy, especially the intro, please do not EVER change it, it will bring nostalgia for ages for all of us.
Just ordered a couple bottles! I've heard of Kanzuri but never tried it. So I'm pretty excited 👍I'm sure this will give them a huge boost in brand recognition, especially if this sauce is a banger!
Kanzuri is my favorite hot sauce, it’s rather hard to find here in Japan but oh man that umami is unbeatable with the salty chili flavor! Goes with anything really, people use it for Yakitori, salad, fried rice, ramen, you name it…better try it if you haven’t!
It's a new level, congratulations to you Paolo and your team 🎉
My hot sauce arrived this week. It’s heaven and hell. The umami is off the charts when eating my my favorite foods, a perfect blend of zest and heat, etc. I don’t really feel the Carolina reaper when eating, but hours later I’m reminded of my indulgence. I look forward to more collabs, this one was really special.
